Hello! I love your videos by the way, and I really appreciate the advice on being familiar with the Top 10 diagnoses for each specialty. I will definitely be doing that when I start rotations next year!!
@@PAStartup 🤓 I have another quick question for y’all. After graduation (as of now) I would really like to work in either cardiac surgery or CT surgery as a PA. With that being the case, what other elective rotation would you recommend in order to enable me to become the best CT-PA upon graduation besides a CT surgery elective rotation? I asked if I could do CT surgery for both of my electives and sadly I cannot. Should I do my other elective in ICU? Cardiology? Thank you for your thoughts and help!
Love to hear your interested in CT surgery (we are obviously a little biased 😅). Other than a CT surgery rotation I think you are on the right track with ICU or cardiology. ICU would prepare you for the critical care postop management of patients such as managing drips and vent management. A firm foundation in Cardiology is also a good idea. Another rotation that may be good would be pulmonology as we do a lot of lung surgery. Vascular surgery would strengthen your surgical skills and some practices do both cardiac and vascular surgery. Good luck!!!
can you guys do a video on paying off student loans/ budgeting/ scholarships for pa school?? I’m starting my didactic year in January and money is my biggest concert atm. Thanks!
Great idea, and valuable info for sure! We'll get on it! Only advice at the moment that I give our new hires in their first job: don't let your living expenses/lifestyle match your paycheck, continue living frugally or else you'll never be able to turn back. We've been looking at scholarships and budgeting ideas for school, so once we wrap that up we'll have something helpful!

Thank you for watching! It seems dumb but that tip will serve you well. Good luck! School is much more fun during rotations…so hang in there!
T-minus 6 weeks until my first PA school rotation in surgery. Great timing for this video! Keep up the good work! :D
Go get it AustinMary! Thanks for letting us come along for the ride!! Congrats!
