The actual speed is a function of wheel circumference travel, along the tire, not wheel rotation rate, at the hub. The speed reported by the meter will only be correct at a specific radius, or wheel size. Easily fixed by changing the meter's paper insert. Presuming it's a paper insert. Sellers should go thru their inventory of these and look for "defects", and market them for the wheel size they would accurately represent.
This is not working for odometer, it will still count rotations with it's own preset "rotations per kilometer/ mile". Today at trials and comparison with GPS distance I had +42 km at odometer and +37 km at GPS tracker (26" wheel). So error is about 13% and this odometer will work correctly only with 29" wheels, bit it haven't enough cable length for this.
