if they don't need hand holding or any special treatment it is ok with me to grandfather them in - but no more should be allowed to join. It is a major issue - others are not allowed to join because they have physical or mental issues and trans should not be any different. I love my trans friends but could not imagine a single one being happy in the military.

And both thoughts of suicide and depression and medicine dependency automatically disqualify you from the military. if they don't need hand holding or any special treatment it is ok with me to grandfather them in - but no more should be allowed to join. It is a major issue - others are not allowed to join because they have physical or mental issues and trans should not be any different. I love my trans friends but could not imagine a single one being happy in the military.

Now please tell me if I am wrong. But, as I have researched this is only for 5 years into transition and only because transitioning is hard and emotional (not that regular life isn’t. Lol) but if meds aren’t there or not easily accessible, say during combat, people in transition have a higher rate of suicide and depression because of the withdrawal from the medications they take. And both thoughts of suicide and depression and medicine dependency automatically disqualify you from the military. So as I understand it’s 5 years for transgendered (into transition) before can enlisted, right? BTW I have nothing against transgendered, always be your true self!!! I also like facts, so I’m asking because Of things I have read and other transgendered people I have asked. So what has anyone else heard?
