That first match was so totally controlled. My god, that must have been frustrating for them, lmao. It was a great game though. The second game, jeez. So interesting, a blue control but with a few giant beaters. The hexproof sphinx coming down and then just having so much protection. Hexproof, then if you use a sweeper you can defend it with counter spells. Never seen it before! Neat deck, tough matchup!
I think in this meta threats are almost ubiquitously stronger than answers. You need a few answers to stop opponent threats, but having a deck that’s all answers doesn’t work as a deck type any more in standard. A control deck needs its own threats to be competitive at this point.

It’s a great point, playing classic control has felt a bit like banging my head against a wall at times. Might have to give into the midrange meta
