I used the same machine at my job. We got this model brand new replacing an old prochem machine and at first during the break in period, it had a lot of issues. Once it was broke in, it is hands down the best machine we have!
For us it took awhile to get comfortable operating the unit since we were used to a pto unit but now it has been very dependable, Thanks for the comment!
Very nice set up. I'm using titan 425 now. 870hp is also my dream, doing my carpet cleaning business and hope someday I can run another TM with everest 870.
I was thinking about starting a carpet cleaning business up and looked at your video then checked the price and in the uk it’s like £46,000 😮 so that ended that pipe dream for me
There are some great machines out there from Hydramaster and Prochem that are half the price which are more than sufficient for normal runs of 200 feet like residential and most businesses, so you definitely don’t have to start with this machine, it took a few years for us to get up enough Large commercial jobs to justify the purchase. Thank you for commenting and good luck.
Thanks for the question! It actually has incredible vacuum lift on short runs and 150 feet or less we actually have to set the machine on medium setting, I have had a 4.5 and 4.8 HM as well as a White Magic and the Everest feels like it has significantly more vacuum, especially on the shorter runs.
Thanks Mike, The straps are called Quick Fist Clamps, Here's the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HOG4DE/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Looks amazing! Great set up! No divider between back and front? Much more open but worries me! Filter box worth the money? Im getter my 870 next week! Ty for sharing!
Thanks for the comment and question and congrats on the new 870! My son works with me and he is 6’3” so I set the front seats where we needed them then laid out the equipment back from there. A divider would be nice but does eat up a few inches of room. The filter box has been great and your legend points from the 870 purchase will pay for that as well as some pod dryers with the bit left over. The filter box is great because you can see when to clean and it's great for customers as they get a window into what you're doing. It also keeps the main unit cleaner and we only have to clean out the 870 filters once a week. My biggest concern is rainy days so far as our previous PTO units could run with all the doors shut but I am working on some ideas for that and also would love any input others might have on the subject.
truckmount technician here. It is not recommended to run a slide in truckmount with no ventilation. The engines can over heat. Water cooled units manage heat tremendously better than smaller air cooled units but it is still recommended per manufacturer to run with back doors and side doors open and front windows down. But if you decide to close the doors, there are exhaust kits that route the exhaust down through the step and I’ve seen ports mounted on the side doors for vacuum hose access. You could also mount a ventilation fan on the roof.
How is the vacuum compared to the XDrive CDS or 4.8 cds SV. Does the lift feel stronger? or do you only notice a difference of it maintaining good vacuum on the long runs?
The X Drive does not spin the Gardner Denver 408 at its max rpm of 4000 rpm. It maxes out at 2800 rmp's. Then the pressure relief is low to keep the belt from slipping or the electric motor from stalling. The 4.8 SV is stronger with more power to the blower and probably spins the 408 blower a little faster than the X Drive for more cfm's. So if somebody has the specs on the on the 870 which are hard to find, you will see more hp more cfm"s and more vacuum presure. I did not ask HydraMaster about the SV.
12.5inHg is 12.5inHg. It’s all going to feel the same at the unit. The only difference would be how many turns and corners are in the vacuum hose that’s ran. The 870 will be “stronger” than smaller units only because it doesn’t bog down as much under full vac load.
@@ward8453blower rpm’s on the 870 is 3580rpm at high speed. Vacuum is controlled by the vac relief setting. 12.5inHg is the same across the board for blower performance. The limiting factor is the engine and how much load it can handle.
Also, if you’re thinking about getting an XDrive. DON’T. Truckmount tech here. You do not want those problems. Out of the dozen Xdrives I’ve repaired, only 2 made it past 1000 hours. And even then, I’ve replaced motors, generators, capacitor packs, controller packs, etc. spent hours on the phone with Eric from HydraMaster doing remote diag and programming for them. Stay away from them like the plague. Because they are all hand installed and made with hundreds of electrical connections, all it takes is one bad connection and the unit is down. And it will take hours to track it down.
Love my ford vans 2 of them are 06 and 07 they old still awsome but i bought new transit 250 and it drive amazing but i just cant fit as much as i can in the older ones a friend of mine has his own company has the same issues as well so i let my guys pick whatever van they wanna use because i doing my lawn care service during week but few weeks ago we had to do hallways and i took new van and had a hell of a time getting lots of extra vacuum hose and water hose’s it was 15 floor building the new vans just seem to me at least not as great my opinion my bad for going on love video new sub

Hi Jose, Thank you for the comment! It can definitely be a challenge packing up so much hose for the long runs. Happy New Year!
Do you have a link for this setup?
