i was there last week, visiting from California, only my second trip to NY. Very emotional for me, 9/11 hit everyone where it hurts. My girlfriend and her two daughters and myself all LOVED the City. None of us wanted to leave. I'd move there tonight if i could. Powerful place, its the birthplace of our American Empire, and you feel the immensity and sense of freedom everywhere. It's hard to describe how it feels to be in Manhattan if you've never been there, we loved it so much we all decided to make it a Christmas tradition and go each year.

Just went up the other day, and I can attest, the view is magnificent. Seeing Manhattan like that, along with the rest of New York City, and New Jersey stretching toward the mainland, is a breathtaking view. I am very afraid of heights, but this one is different, it's very peaceful and beautiful at the top of the best city in the world. There truly is nowhere like New York.

I hate to say it; but, there is no way to bring back the original twin towers. Due to many reasons such as the building materials they built it out of (if you can recall, the original World Trade Center towers were built before asbestos was banned), the cost, and also; who would want to rebuild the WTCs on the site where 3,000+ people lost their lives?! It would probably end-up being extremely "haunted" (if it isn't already)! Unless if you can find or build a time machine, go back to September 11, 2001, and try to prevent the planes from colliding into the buildings while saving many people's lives; then you could still have the twin towers! However, that is highly unlikely to happen!
@@NathanDavisVideos Agreed. I'm in the minority but I like the One World Trade Center as it is, I preferred not to have them rebuild two towers. I understand, and part of me wanted that too, but there are several reasons why that couldn't have happened, especially with the internal design of the original buildings. (for example, too few stairwells, that were surrounded by sheet rock and not concrete.)
Mark Hilliard I think, and this is just coming from my personal experience so I can't speak for anyone else, but aesthetically, the towers to me will always be associated with the tragedy first. When I see a picture of them, my first thought isn't of the fun I had playing in them as a kid in my friend's dad's office, or going on the observatory deck, the first thought I now and will always have is of that day. And not only is it painful personally for many, but in an economic sense, the building has to have tenants. And tenants don't want to think of the failure of the building while in the building. It's hard to explain this through text. Those images of that day and how those towers fell are so seared into our brains, that we have to have something new to look forward to, while also not forgetting the pain and loss. It's too haunting. I understand what you mean, and a part of me really wants the old buildings back, but I understand why they can't or shouldn't be. I think we all want the towers back and trade the freedom tower back for them in a heartbeat. Also, from a safety standpoint, it's unsafe. We learned a lot from how the towers sustained the initial attack and why they didn't stay up longer (concrete is king now, safety wise) . Lastly, there was not enough space for all the projects and another two towers. I understand how you feel and many people not just you and me feel similarly. I want not only the towers but what they represented to us then, but also now, a world before 9/11, before the two wars, and everything else that came with it.
+AmethystEyes I would imagine the people who already work at the new WTC buildings are constantly reminded of 9/11, but it didn't stop them from working there. Finding tenants wasn't easy, but they managed to do it somehow. Also, if the Twin Towers were to be rebuilt, they would be as safe as the Freedom Tower (1 WTC). Basically, the towers would look the same as before, but different materials and different escape routes for safety.

It be so cool though if you could, maybe you can see the top of the comcast center (tallest building in philly) on a super duper clear day but even thats doubtful
The One World Trade Center tower had surpassed the height of the Empire State Building in New York City and has the symbolic height the spire of 1,776 feet tall and 105 stories tall.
The One World Trade Tower is very stunning and it is a beautiful building and the Memorial is a pretty place in Lower Manhattan.WTC is a nice place to go. I am planning taking foreign languages for WTC for the world like countries like China and many of other foreign countries and also Brazil in South America for a Portuguese language to understand in cities like Rio de Janeiro of the Brazilian cultures.
You can NOT see Philadelphia from there. I have tried quite a few times looking in that direction. Philly is over 90miles away and even on a clear day the curvature of the earth would still make it impossible.
Typically another incomplete job in nyc. The circular structure at the the very top of the building, the “communications ring” was supposed to be enclosed with glass. They never finished. Also the other new WTC building was supposed to have a angular roof. The point of the angle would point directly at ground zero. They, again pussied out. Too much money had already gone into the hands of the corrupt. So, like Shea Stadium back in the 60’s, jobs were left incomplete. The stench of ny corruption.
They can't. They said it costs a like 9,0000 dollars or something if they do who knows what will happen they could try and hijack another plane or it will just be weird to have the twins back but we cant build them on the grave

New York's middle finger to the terrorists? 😂😂😂 That's a good one! That tower is better off standing alone, others can stand at a distance and probably shorter than it!
What people thinking nowadays, not about airplane attacking the tower. I believe, tragedy will not happen again. But, They're afraid many people will questioning.. "Where is the curve of the earth..?" 🙏
Whether or not they replicated the original towers, the goal should have been to build something that would have made the skyline even more spectacular than before. The new building is impressive but failed to achieve that goal.
yeah, that roof platform was something like 1,377 feet, and the roof (not that stupid spire making it 1,776 feet high) is 1,368 feet, meaning the outdoor observation deck was higher than this new one's roof! So, Anderson Cooper apparently never went to the old one, because he said he never saw that sight before- he would have seen better from the old Two WTC's roof!!

You can see further then 50 miles. It’s roughly 80-90 miles
Charlie Rose: It was unusual to be so high.
Me from the Netherlands: …
I'm in the minority but I like the One World Trade Center as it is, I preferred not to have them rebuild two towers. To me it just felt like "Oh the towers fell and many died...just build 2 new ones just like before"...to me it's like they would just do it to replace what was there before and I don't WANT them to "replace" what was. We can't replace the towers and more importantly, the people that died. What we CAN (and did) do is make something new in remembrance of what happened.
Hello from Sweden you have turn this disaster around and show the world that no one steps on USA and rise again . That is the best ever.
u cannot see philadelphia😂
But they're liberal so get a pass. Now if palin had said she could see russia from there, well...
It be so cool though if you could, maybe you can see the top of the comcast center (tallest building in philly) on a super duper clear day but even thats doubtful
Elvis dinkel Dinkel
Palin is republican though....
Omar 787 i live in Philadelphia
Elvis Presley Aren’t liberals actually educated though? 😂
The One World Trade Center tower had surpassed the height of the Empire State Building in New York City and has the symbolic height the spire of 1,776 feet tall and 105 stories tall.
OMG! awesome building! can't wait to be there! ❤🗽🌇
Just make another freedom tower without the spire
Nora is stunning.... wow.
We must never forget what we went through on 9/11, though.
❤🖤For all those dears our people lost🖤❤
Why couldn't they add an outdoor observatory like on the original WTC?
DesertDwight
to stop people from killing themselves and using the tower to jump off from as a stunt
@@scythal nailed it
The One World Trade Tower is very stunning and it is a beautiful building and the Memorial is a pretty place in Lower Manhattan.WTC is a nice place to go. I am planning taking foreign languages for WTC for the world like countries like China and many of other foreign countries and also Brazil in South America for a Portuguese language to understand in cities like Rio de Janeiro of the Brazilian cultures.
Amazing! wish they built two like the old towers!
The top of the building should have a place for a helicopter to land.
super nice, tower top of the word and the news caster was so great.
You can NOT see Philadelphia from there. I have tried quite a few times looking in that direction. Philly is over 90miles away and even on a clear day the curvature of the earth would still make it impossible.
Whats the metal structure on top? And whats that long metal?
Damn I so miss new york but will be back soon
***** what do you mean what I said I miss nyc and I will be back what do you not understand ans I was not speaking with you tend to your business:(
Mohammad Al-arab you are already sad
Personally I thin o they should make a studio up there for the news
I remember this live
what are the odds of it being attacked again?
can you see the RHIC ion gun at Brookhaven Natl Labs? It's 61.1 miles away, at an angle of 119 degrees, in a direct line-of-sight.
They should have built it in to a giant middle finger with the tag line being "Fuck You Terrorism!"
SharperRock except it wasn't brought down by terrorists, this is common knowledge
1:35 what a bunch of BS
REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS
They can't. They said it costs a like 9,0000 dollars or something if they do who knows what will happen they could try and hijack another plane or it will just be weird to have the twins back but we cant build them on the grave
@@Star-lo4kz none will hijack it the security increased after 9/11
Fantastic
Fun fact: One World Trade center at it's highest point is 1,792 feet, and the year 1792 is the year the very first United States penny was made!
Great story compelling and rich!
Holy shit, you can see new jersey? I can see it from my basement
+john wheel Probably a map of NJ.
Belas vison vive viva people Beautyful
It's weird hearing present day broadcasters talk about the WTC so normally
Around the world Peoples dislike, because a lot of people miss least Twin-Towers and also most they miss someone got lost with love the families/friends 👫 very much ❤️.🙌
Did anyone notice that it looked like there were Tie fighters at 0:39
did they invite mohamed atta at the opening ceremony?
jan jansen
i think Atta is dead
just saw him a few months ago grabbing pizza with sheep herders from hezbollah
Honestly i know its new. You couldn't get me in that thing.
How much floor???
Great tower
The top portion of the freedom tower looks identical to the north tower
In a way the windows are a bit creepy looking like the old towers
Cool,,to,see
She should have named the all the places you could see.
I love One World Trade Center but I wish it was taller. New York should have the worlds tallest building once again just as the twin towers once were
No way can you see the curvature of the earth from that building. You can’t see it from a plane at cruising altitude!
Did you guys see that plane in the background?
It was a helicopter. Dumb ass
+marlb0r015 I shouldn't be laughing LOL
@@sweetsunnyvibes plane stupid lol
This comment is plane wrong.
I wonder how Mile High Tower will compete with Freedom Tower when completed in terms of view?
Its the same view from the OG WTC's
You absolutely cannot see Philadelphia
what is the building at 5:39??? looks old & run down. ....I couldnt Possibly go in this tower without literally feeling what the victims must have felt & seeing the view they saw & all this plus being paranoid anytime I see a plane no matter how far away.
New York's middle finger to the terrorists? 😂😂😂 That's a good one! That tower is better off standing alone, others can stand at a distance and probably shorter than it!
should have been the same towers just higher up
exactly, this building while beautiful, is just generic modern looking building, nothing special. the twin towers on the other hand were iconic
Penske Material just give it a few decades and it will be
Lol imagine the twin towers but with an extra section to it so it’s 1/3 taller
What people thinking nowadays, not about airplane attacking the tower.
I believe, tragedy will not happen again.
But,
They're afraid many people will questioning..
"Where is the curve of the earth..?"
🙏
Whether or not they replicated the original towers, the goal should have been to build something that would have made the skyline even more spectacular than before. The new building is impressive but failed to achieve that goal.
How
@@calebbrown7602IKR, The New 1WTC is pretty impressive to Me.
The view from the original towers is better and taller
yeah, that roof platform was something like 1,377 feet, and the roof (not that stupid spire making it 1,776 feet high) is 1,368 feet, meaning the outdoor observation deck was higher than this new one's roof! So, Anderson Cooper apparently never went to the old one, because he said he never saw that sight before- he would have seen better from the old Two WTC's roof!!
They should build another one! Build another freedom tower!
