- In 1975 a suite of Hugo Friedhofer's music score for director Roger Corman's movie VON RICHTHOFEN AND BROWN (1971) was recorded by Kurt Graunke conducting the Graunke Symphony Orchestra of Munich.
A fabulous score which showcases Friedhofer's versatility as both a premier composer and orchestrator. One of my all time favorites.
it's a shame the film is so disappointing overall, since this music and the aerial photography both are stunning and without equal.

Fantastic movie, at least they used REAL aeroplanes for this film! Yes you get critics from all over commenting how the movie was ''Errored in historical terms'' but its the action as well as the story which makes this movie an underrated classic! In fact I do prefer this kind of to the Blue Max. No offense to it but there are more dogfight scenes and the flying circus? brilliant!
I agree. This movie is way better than The Blue Max.
@@logofilm8644 this movie is a piece of shit -- with some of the best aerial sequences ever filmed!! the blue max is so much dead weight. the planes feel like 16-wheelers. i love goldsmith's score, and it truly was a heavy lift for him to make everything feel so majestic, but guillermin kind of butchered it dramatically in the film. in this everything in the air is just glorious. love this score to death--one of the best main title pieces ever!!
I want to really thank you for having uploaded this, gsw55. I had dreamed since a little boy to have this music, and had always thought I would never find it. God bless
Fantastic!
