I enjoyed your review, thanks dude. I have the 8 Pro snd can agree it's an improved beast since Android 15. It runs cooler and the battery life is better. The stitching between the camera lenses when zooming out and pulling back to the ultra wide angle lens is far smoother now than it used to be. Feel like I'm in no real rush to upgrade now.. might wait til the 9ProXL gets cheap around Black Friday and go for it. That phone should be purring like a cat by then after a few more updates and Android 16. Thanks again, its refreshing to have a reviewer who knows their stuff.
Thanks for the video. I enjoy your content and keep up the good work. Yeah, I upgraded from the pixel 8 Pro. Gave it to the wifey and I have the pixel 9 Pro XL. What difference everything you described that may be a little gripe to you won't be with the pixel 9 Pro XL or even the pixel 9 Pro. You have to try to get your hands on one. You will be simply amazed at how good it is.
@@BigJeffroeX438 honestly yeah I feel like the 9 series fixed basically all my gripes, kinda wanted to upgrade but figured I'd wait for the 10 series when Google move to TSMC instead of Samsung. This video should have way more views than it does. Google won't do right by their customers they keep using Samsung made processors and modems, just lazy.
@@jevonsims900 thank you mate. There might be hope for the Pixel 10, they've opted for a Mediatek modem and they're switching to TSMC but I agree, shouldn't have taken them this long to iron out these problems. Imagine these phones with Snapdragon performance and efficiency, they'd be insanely good.
The phone is great. My only complaint is the fingerprint scanner is still not accurate enough, especially when my thumb is dry. Wish they'd have gone with the Ultrasonic scanner on the 8 series.
@@a1000island I do believe it probably also depends on the state of the skin. When I just have my hand washed and the skin dries up, it does not work no matter how properly I align the thumb and press it. I have to moisturize it for it work, I had the exact same issue with my 6a before the 8 Pro. Meanwhile, my friend who owns a Pixel 7 Pro says it's the opposite for him, the FP reader doesn't work for him when his thumb is a little sweaty but works when it's dry. Ps, I use a tempered glass with screen protector mode turned on so not quite sure if that has some sort of impact.
I hear everything you say is pretty accurate, but y'all people kill me always talking about how they ain't perform on a phone. The purpose for a phone wasn't meant to play games. That's just an addition and all the problems you inquire with your pixel 8 pro. I bought mines brand new and been using it ever since it came out and I never encounter any hiccups like that. The only problem I ever had with my picture was when I tried to create my own wallpaper through AI. Other than that my pixel 8 pro has been smooth
You being a non-gamer doesn't have anything to do with Google not making the Pixel line the best most well optimized Android phone on the market when it comes to intensive more demanding apps. Google owns the PlayStore the Pixel should be optimized to run on every popular app in that store.
The video clip from 16:06 to 16:16 doesn't look like that, came out weird in the export!

The gallery bottom bar, is the 'photos, memories & library' section pixel exclusive? i mean its not the same on my s24 google photos app.
