Very interesting to see, and I hope to visit Kendal at some point before long. My maternal grandparents emigrated to Canada in 1924 and made Kendal their first home for the next four years, moving to British Columbia in 1928. Thanks to your efforts (and others on RUclips) I can at least see what their first community looks like today, though I imagine it was a little bit larger back when they called it home.
Thanks for dropping by for a visit, robatsea. U are right: in 1924 Kendal would have been a much livelier place with a school, sports teams, businesses, optimism. The ‘30s were not kind to Most Saskatchewan communities, Kendal no exception, tho I believe the population peaked in the mid ’60s. It is unlikely that your kin would recognize the place today. Thanks for watching and writing. Take care and Keep well. Cordially, Skyleo Fiets
Your videos are obviously a labour of love. As an “ ex-pat Saskatchewanian” your efforts are much appreciated. You even made a video of my old stomping grounds, Hatfield. That’s what I call leaving no stone unturned! Be well. Salut
Hey, Richard. Thanks for watching and for writing such kind words. They help keep me going, they do. Hatfield I would do again, now that I know which elevator companies were present. Now that I have a drone and could overview the site. Will Never happen, tho. Too many places to which I haven't yet been. Take care and Keep well. Cordially, Don Wilson
@@HomeTownSaskatchewan Hi Don. If its not too much trouble, was wondering about the drone that you are using; make and model. How well does it cope with the prairie winds?
Sad. I didn't get to mention that, besides contributing hockey and baseball players to the Village's sports rosters, the Assiniboia people of Carry the Kettle just north of Kendal (and Montmartre) saved the early settlers from extinction during the first few winters of colonization, supplying them, teaching them. Old Carry the Kettle himself invested himself deeply in the new-comers' survival. As well, the Assiniboia partook in the economy of the community by supplying firewood and fence posts and hay, and buying what they needed from stores. That commerce was scrutinized by the DIA for Decades and not unseldom did the Dept interfere, requiring that a transaction must be scupper'd. Thanks for watching and writing, Darryl. Take care and Keep well. Cordially, Don Wilson
I wish I could up-date and fix every video that I've ever made, Dunk, but I really can't: there are SO many places whence I haven't even been Once! Why Windthorst? Thanks for watching and writing. Take care. Cordially, Skyleo Fiets
Crime? No. Well. Hardly. Maybe some grafitti here and there, a Red Bull can tossed away empty, a broken cigarette butt. Like that. Not to worry, Eric. Thanks for watching and writing. Cordially, Don Wilson

Appreciated the baseball heritage you shared. It is sad those diamonds sit in the rough unused.
