No. Both those games aren't that old, and they hold up so well.
Listening to the skill up review he thinks there's some significant gameplay and control issues in an otherwise great game. So if they polish those up it will be great for me as I avoided it due to the negative reviews upon launch.
I mean, Horizon is coming up on 8 years old. I wouldn't day it "needed" a remaster, but I definitely appreciate it.

Who is "you"? You mean Sony? They didn't kill the game. Bend Studio themselves decided to not work on a sequel and instead make another game.

I agree that it would make way more sense for the fanbase, but a lot of people seem to forget that all these remasters and remakes are for first party games, which means they are cheaper and easier for Sony to produce. Bloodborne would either require a remake, hiring From Software again or, if Sony has the source code, have another studio spend lots of time working on it. A remake will probably make sense in a few years, but a remaster would be quite expensive right now. Sadly, I don't see it happening, specially given how unoptimized From Software's custom engine is.
@@Reciclador That's really not true at all. If they were reasonable enough to deliver a very bare bones "remaster", it would cost them essentially nothing. The game already runs completely without issue at 60 fps when forced to. So long as they make no attempt to reissue the texture files at something closer to their source resolution, it would cost them basically nothing. Throw all the DLC into it, lock it to 60, have it render at 4K or 1440p, and they're good to go. The issue up until now has basically been nothing more than them needing a new SKU or entity ID.
@@orijimi that's assuming they have the source code, which we don't know. They'd still have to port the game to PS5, and if they really want to do a remaster and improve other stuff, then it's not immediate. A patch unlocking the framerate for the PS4 version would probably be the cheapest option here, but they probably don't see any money to be gained from that. I want them to give us more Bloodborne, but I don't think they see the investment worth it at the moment.
The comparison footage between Horizion and its remaster shows a big enough difference to be worth $10. I would imagine Days Gone remaster being the same and well worth the $10 for me also. I didn't ask for either but I'll gladly take it.

You're missing the point. The issue isn't how much the remasters would cost, it's that development time/money is making the remasters to begin with, instead of remastering a game that actually needs it, or making a sequel, or making a game in a new IP.

I would die for GOW but it’s a much bigger commitment and risk with it coming from ps3.
They must be also planning a sequel they just have to get people’s eyes back on the original because soooo many people didn’t play it. I own it, but never played it. The remaster would get me to finally give it a chance, especially if they only charge $10 for the upgrade.

considering i got both my PS copies for free and my PC copy for £14.99 after i upgrade i'll have spent a whopping £24.99 on 4 copies of the game so i see absolutely NO problem with it tbh

Have you thought of taking some of your older DF videos and touching them up, maybe fixing some audio issues, then rereleasing them at a higher bitrate? It’s fantastic content, but many viewers have only recently joined, and so haven’t experienced these videos. It would be nice if they were brought up to the standards of the current DF production quality.

@@Thanosdidtherighthing Actually you can. Horizon ZD was included in almost every PS4 bundle after its release and that's where most of its sales came from. It wasn't to the same degree but then history repeated itself with its sequel. It's like saying that Wii Sports sold 90 million copies, it's technically true but nobody actually bought the game and most people wouldn't have if Nintendo didn't include it with every Wii. I'm not saying that nobody bought Horizon, but the numbers lie, most people just happened to buy a PS4 or 5 that happened to include the game because that's what was available.

How many times did CDPR update their games like Witcher 3 or CP2077 - years after. And they valued the customer by don't take any money for it, except real DLCs that are sometimes longer than other games.
@@MansaMusa50 It’s a NOTICEABLE graphical upgrade, with 10+ hours reworked voiceovers, and updated animations. It would be cool if they gave it for free but since these things cost money, I don’t expect them to give it out for free.

The point is that Bloodborne is a game with an extremely enthusiastic fan base who are crying out for the opportunity to even officially play the game at 60 fps, and yet Sony are again passing it over in favour of a game which already looks stunning at 60 fps on PS5 at 4K, with the PC release looking even better. It just feels kinda silly.

Yes, because new people don't have access to games unless they are "remastered", which really translates to censored, less content and in some case several times more latency, making these so called remasters much worse than the originals. GTA Trilogy ring a bell.

A Killzone Collection would be awesome!
Just imagine, Killzone 1, 2, 3, Shadow Fall, Liberation and Mercenary all running natively on PS5 and with a potential PC port later, that would be the dream.
Same goes for Resistance Fall of Man, 2, 3, Retribution and Burning Skies.
I just recently bought a PS Vita just to play the portable spin-offs from Killzone, Resistance and Uncharted.
Those game mostly have masculine trait or straight dude protagonist. Sony's activist want to bury such Legacy today. They could take radical way using gender bender fem protagonist in remake but They knew it won't sell well because the game has already become a cult classic.

Killzone is crem'da'la'crem on the Vita, love the PSP Killzone too, Motorstorm games, Resistance, Uncharted Golden Abyss I played in rehab (liked the marching power in my early 20s), loved it though, I love the little Vita and its beautiful RGB-OLED screen, the fact it can play the entire PS1 library natively in qHD and PSP in double resolution natively is amazing too, as it actually has the native PS1/PSP MIPS CPU.

Short Answer: No.
The real tough pill to swallow is they will keep doing these remakes no one is actually asking for but ignore remaking/remastering resistance trilogy, infamous, killzone, god of war 1, 2 ascension and the psp games or the obvious Bloodborne. At this point id rather see The Order 1886 get a remake. 3 versions of TLOU 1 is insane and already 2 versions of part 2 lol
A remaster won't fix Days Gone biggest problem which is about 90% of the Dialogue and unlikeable characters.
Nintendo gets a pass but it's funny that you guys crap on PlayStation. Plus Nintendo doesn't give previous owners an upgrade and they charge you full price. In terms if all the remasters dry up. Well we get a remake...obviously.
Go back to the based Japanese office you used to have , since you went apart from Sony and started the PlayStation brand in the US you have lost the connection and out of touch with the gaming community.
People don't want remasters , fans and loyal people to the brand for years have already played them and if not they already exists and looks good enough..
The Japanese and korean games are selling good , the old style , the way games used to be ...over in US you have lost all touch into what build the brand up in the beginning, namely your players ...
No more remasters and greedy decisions , if you dont have the passion and studios to bring new games , stories telling etc to market you should consult the asian market and developer studios like you used to , since they still have the passion for it and knows what the players actually wants...

This is in really bad faith from DF. This remaster has been in the works for several years now so I was not surprised this is coming out soon. Guerilla announced it before Forbidden West was released.

The facial animations and NPC cutscenes are god awful in HZD. They needed fixing up. I for one welcome this remaster. Its going to make the experience so much better.

@9:02 I'd rather a Killzone Trilogy Remaster or Shadowfall Remaster over Horizon too. Didn't even play Killzone that much at the time but I'd definitely revisit a remaster.
I remember TV presenters saying that when HD became more widespread, they had to use a lot more makeup to look "presentable" on TV. With that in mind, Aloy doesn't need any more pixels than she already has 😂
There's a handful of games "languishing in the PS3 wasteland" that I would actually love to see ported to the Switch without massive improvements. Rage, Hunted: The Demon Forge, Tomb Raider, Enslaved, Metal Gear Rising, Remember Me, Vanquish - all of these things would run pretty great on Switch and would be interesting to revisit in portable mode. Throw in some TAA to clean up in-surface aliasing and you'd have at least a marked improvement over the original. (In-surface aliasing was just such a huge problem in that generation.)
I would have preferred them to introduce VRR, but since it is a native PS4 game it can't be done.

We need Infamous Remastered/Remake collection. remake Infamous 1 and 2 + Festival of Blood DLC and Remaster Second Son and First Light and release it as a collection after Ghost of Yotei (Ghost of Tsushima 2)

MAN, Sony Really needs FPS games. Killzone remakes Resistance Remakes. Also There are Sly cooper games. Jack and Dexter games ratchet and clank games. Motorstorm games. Infamous games. Old God of war game. Syphon Filter games. There are so many exclusive games from ps1 ps2 and ps3 era to be remade or remastred at least.

Days gone was the game I bought PS5. I did not like ps4 version because regular even pro version was 30fps and loading times was long. ON PS 5 game runs smooth loading time is very short.
I enjoyed very much than from horizon games. I haven't finished God of war games.
I played Days Gone recently on PS5 and it looks amazing still.

No, we don't need them. I'm honestly getting tired of all these remasters. Remasters should be done to older games not playable on current hardware, not games that are already playable via the current generation. Who cares if they aren't up to latest graphical standards. Both games were some of the best looking games on the PS4 and still look great today without the tweaking. I've been nicknaming this generation the Remastered Generation, because of all the incremental remasters coming out.
