    As a Rainbow owner and user most of my life I was attracted to the Quantum X since it was an UPRIGHT and still had the water filter. I actually didn’t think it would deliver the power of a “canister” so my hopes were not set high. My Rainbow actually died (but lasted over 25 years!) and I was using a Bissel regular vacuum to clean. So I did buy a Quantum X vacuum and was astonished on how much Grit and rocks it picked up when first using it. And I’m talking about a inch deep level of pebbles and grit in the bottom of the water basin. I’ve owned the Quantum X now almost 2 years and now I get minimal amounts of the grit (guess I got most of it up when first using the machine) but still picks up small amounts of grit every time I vacuum. I will say those who are considering the Quantum X it is quite heavy in fact the heaviest upright I’ve ever used. So it’s going to be a little harder to push and pull but it does clean really well and I am satisfied so far with its performance. I like water trap vacuums mainly for the ease of use, just dump out the dirty water and you’re good to go next time. No more taking out all the filters washing them waiting for them to dry and putting everything back together every time I cleaned. And just like all water trap vacuums no loss of airflow since there are no filters to clog to restrict the airflow.

      @@warzshadow9701 it's quite heavy. When I'm done vacuuming, I'm pretty worn out lol. Also very heavy to carry upstairs. 😕 But the suction and cleaning power is so amazing that I feel the benefits outweigh (no pun intended) the heaviness. My water basin is always so full of dirt, sand and pet hair! I know it's doing a deep down clean when I see what all it sucked up

      So how does the weight of quantum x compare to the Rainbow? I find my Rainbow is very impractical now with arthritis in my knees hips and spine. Very awkward to drag around the house and bending over to change the water basin, clean the separator etc.

    I did buy the Quantum X because I'm a huge fan of water filtration. I can promise the Quantum X definitely gets the sand and grit easily. I don't have real deep carpet, but I know it's working when I look at the canister when I'm done. I also have hard floors downstairs and it cleans them well. Doesn't scatter dirt at all. Great suction and never a loss of power.

    Excellent video , the question I have is what machine does deep clean? I had 2 rainbows 🌈 over the years and we got rid of them when we got the Electrolux central house vacuum. I have bad allergies now and the canister that collects the dust is in the basement which does keep dust down in the house for me. I just wanted to know what vacuum you use and what you do recommend for deep cleaning. 😊

    • @monroevac
      @monroevac  3 месяца назад +1

      The Central Vacuum is a good method for keeping dust out of your environment when you vacuum. the dust is going to the garage or basement . my recommendation for getting more out of your
      Cleaner is to make sure you change the belt often and vacuum a little slower and take a little bit longer. I know it’s a trade-off because often time we’re trying to hurry up. I use a Kirby at home. It’s a little heavier than regular vacuums but it does have a transmission which makes it easier to push. but if you have to lift it up the stairs then you have to take the weight into account. It’s a heavy machine but it’s a great deep cleaner. the closest to a Kirby design is a commercial vacuum called Royal. I’m not sure if they manufacture them anymore. But most mid to high end vacuums can deep clean but you may have slow down and allow it to deep clean the carpet,

    Great video as a rainbow owner i think rainbows grab all the deep down dirt because every time I vacuum my house I always see a big layer of grit at the bottom of my water basin (i don’t live near the ocean or a sandy place) and my shark in the other hand only pulls out balls of hair and some fine dust

      Thanks.. See the dirt in the water is pretty impressive. I’ve had the opportunity to compare the cleaning ability of. Rainbow to a Kirby Vacuum and saw mound of sand and grit the Rainbow left behind. I guess a lot of our preferences play a part in what convinces us. But I won’t knock the Rainbow- they are built to last a long time and do as good a job and better than many cleaners on the market.

      Meile and Riccar are still top. I believe the water based machines are just a filtration preference. It doesn’t necessarily clean any better because of the water. Although I must admit that seeing the dirty water can convince someone.

      @@monroevac Yeah, but remember that Rainbow retains its cleaning efficiency from start to finish. Anything with dry bags and filters lose efficiency (even with the modern HEPA bags) lose efficiency quickly as the pores become clogged. Also, bags are another expense that carry through the years plus Tacony products are lacklustre and any Eurovac have small, expensive bags and multiple filters. The exhaust filters on these machines catch the carbon dust and need to be replaced frequently. Rainbows don't have this problem because there aren't any carbon brushes to worry about in the main unit. The filter bags are not environmentally friendly (even though it is often made from recycled material) as they are made of plastic and we all know about the problems of plastic being thrown away, the way it degrades and that micro-particles of this plastic then gets ingested by lifeforms all over the planet.

    1. Super heavy: Not motorized
    2. Difficult to snap basin in.
    3. Akward to clean.
    4. No cord wrap
    5. Hose suction mediocre.
    6. Hose connection seems cheap.
    I might just get a wet dry vac like a Cross wave. It is only supposed to be for throw rugs but will probably work for low pile carpet.

    • @WJCTechyman
      @WJCTechyman Год назад

      Wet dry vacs are pretty powerful machines. I would try pairing it with an electric power nozzle (if you have carpets) and definitely use bags and a HEPA cartridge filter. This makes cleaning it out easy and the average machine size (5 U.S. Gallons) makes for high capacity as well.

    Rainbows pick up grit if you look at the bottom of the water basin you can see copious amounts of sand. I wouldn't want a Quantum X, it's a pretty stupid design. I still think Quantum should have remained a canister but what can you do. The one thing I like about the Quantum machines is the removable cord. If you somehow run the cord over to the point of damage, it's easily replaced. It works like Numatic's line of canisters and Kirby vacuums that way. I would buy a Sirena over any of Quantum's products if I didn't already own a Rainbow D4SE and a Rainbow E2 Black.

Only thing with rainbow is you better make sure you have a authorized dealer in your area because parts do brake parts to get worn belt brush rollers safe they will Kirby you want to make sure there is a authorized dealer in your area because if not it you screwed cuz here in Cincinnati we have Kirkwood sweeper vac and if you don't buy what they want you to buy they don't want to help you too much so I'm might suggest into anybody that reads this comment if you got to go with a rainbow or go with a Kirby even Hoover day don't have a lot of places now you can take the vacuums and get them repaired so it's kind of hard out here now that's why a lot of people go to Walmart and they bottles 59-49 dollar bissell's because if they break down they just throw them away buy a new one but then there's you throw those away that contributes to the Earth waste so I always ask people to talk to a vacuum expert before buying a vacuum because you want something that's going to last you a really long time you know we're in the pandemic people don't have the money like that to keep buying vacuum cleaners after vacuum cleaners Hoover used to be a reliable brand so that Bissell back-in-the-day sold it Dirt Devil Eureka Oreck Simplicity Riccar and they even had a Bagless model back in the day called fhantom but I don't think they around anymore so there's a lot of different vacuum options depending on what your budget is and what kind of cleaning techniques you need but please reach out to a local vacuum expert they will save you old lot of money because Hoover is not made in Canton Ohio they're made in China so it's Bissell and all these other brands they just slapped their brand on it and think it's till quality is not cuz I was born 1987 and back then if you had a Hoover you had some money but they lasted for years to come now they're not like that and that sad so please I beg you reach out to a vacuum cleaner expert if you're not knowledgeable or don't know about vacuum cleaners or shampooers even those have changed over the years reach out to a vacuum expert they will save you a lot of money happy prosperous and blessed New Year to everybody who reads this comment you all stay safe wear your mask and please wash your hands
