Just today I went to a very sweet Elk spot on my Layton Lake map, and the drink zones disappeared... then I remembered the killing spree I went on that area when I was a noob. This video will make less people commit this error.
Been playing for a month now, I had the purple zones completely wrong and thought the purple zones were like areas that had active need zones etc. I kept on going to purple zones and was confused when I was having such a hard time finding animals and they were all so skittish and hard to get. Good to know and thanks for the tip!
Same I was at ronachee lake at the outpost and killed like 10 deer and the whole lake was a bright purple and I thought it meant it is a hot spot but then I stopped seeing deer😂
One "trick"/effect if you have proper DLC: If possible and you can take longer range shot (around 125-150 meters - than it doesn't spook animals), rise tripod and shoot from it. It is not just about reducing pressure on current(!) hunt - it seems that it removes same amount of the older pressure elsewhere regardless of the new amount of the one generated. I had several really pressurized spots over the map from previous hunting then I started to hunt with tripod (blind probably works as well, same for fixed stand) and while I generated only light pressure over the map, old spots were removed at the ordinary rate. Good for the map where are no birds. So you can reduce total amount of the pressure on the map. In before it was like constant - you removed one pressure by generating it elsewhere. You just moved purple-pinkish blotches over the map.
3:12 I disagree. All hunting pressure does is remove the map markers for need zones. I go hunt pink pressure areas, because they are good animal producers, and close to fast travel points. You only have to remember where you made your shots from and what time.
How many animals can be killed in the same area before it deletes the zone? For rifles, handguns and shotguns, you can kill 3 animals and the zone will be deleted on 4th. What about the bows? What about when shooting rifles, handgun and shotguns from a blind or tripod or tree stand? What about when shooting with a bow from blind or tripod or tree stand? These are valid questions that needed to be included in this video.
Tripods are also great afk equipment. This way you're safe until you get back. Spooked animals that get close can't run you over. I hate being far away from a outpost, having to go afk for a few minutes, come back and I'm back at the outpost because I was killed.
I accidentally deleted a coyote fred zone like that when I first began the weirdest thing is that hunting pressure on moose and bears but not coyotes but still it deleted the coyote feed zone
You may also notice that when you kill something, a purple spot won't show up... I've hit several with non-lethal shots and some time later stumbled upon the same animal and finished it off... The first hit is where the purple will show up, no matter how far you track and finish off prey. Seems 4 kills in a new area, purple melded is the most you can do before a zone will be deleted, but I have a funny feeling non-lethal hits count, so 3 purples melded and one non lethal, you'd better find a new area. I struggle b/c I'm a bit color deficient and I'd love to know more facts around hunting pressure with need zones, with and without tripods... I've accidentally devastated the hottest hunting area on layton, took out every single need zone, sigh. Now I'm super 'gun shy' Good thing for Yukon and SRP. I'm still new @28
Thanks the game didn't really explain this very well I had to look up what the purple spots on the map were and thank goodness I did because I got a kill and didn't know that I did 🤣 ( I think I lost some money though 😅 )
So do you have to wait for the hunting pressure to be fully not visible before you start counting bodies again? cuz everyone explains the "what is hunting pressure" or "where you shot it" but noone explained when can you start counting again....
To lessen the amount of hunting pressure on harvests, do you need to hunt from the tripod? Or will the presence of an unmanned tripod in that area reduce the hunting pressure by itself?
Can someone explain something to me? I shot a blacktail deer at layton lake. I wasn't sure if i got a good shot so i checked to see if hunting pressure had shown up on the map. nada, no kill right? so i start tracking the blood, and i check the map again, hunting pressure! So i'm like dope, the deer died, as im following the trail, i catch up with the deer, but it's still alive and running around leaving a blood trail... why do i have hunting pressure if it didn't die?
@@RiskyYT one more question sorry, but even say I’m not even level 10 am I still able to find high level animals like diamonds or stuff, or do I need to level up more and unlock more of the map to see higher level animals, and what’s the highest level?
Nope, no matter what level you are you can shoot anything. Just make sure you are using the right ammo class for the specific animal and you’ll be good to go

Excellent note about the tree stands/tripods. I have them and use them, but for vantage. I didn't know they reduced new hunting pressure accumulation.
For anyone wondering, geese aren’t affected by hunting pressure (I think)
@Joshua B. because you cause the extinction of the geese in your map lmao
1:50 this was a really good tip

Love your content your already almost at 30k 🙂
Bright purple hunting pressure - The good old days when you'd take advantage of glitched rabbits on hirschfelden.
I turned my Xbox online so I’m still doing that
I’ve definitely made the mistake of deleting zones when I first started
How many can u kill before it disappears

Haven’t even watch the video but I know it’s going to be good 👍🏻

Thanks 🙏🏻
I always wondered exactly how it works
Haven’t watched, but I think hunting pressure should have a decay effect overtime it eventually goes away imo
I agree that would be nice
@@RiskyYT a decay and changing in game time wouldn’t affect it so you couldn’t easily remove it, and use an irl time to decay a need zone
Glad this came along
I thought this was really funny how where lots of your hunting pressure is where I hunt and I have lots of hunting pressure 😂

Hey, thanks a lot for the explanation.. never understood it. Got it now^^
good tips nice one risky
Hi nice video,my question is how do i find a wounded animal when i loose the blood track
Sir can you please share your system configuration. Thank you !
Risky sounds like an old friend. I would hang out with Risky. No doubt. Coors lt, bud lt, Miller lt or Natural lt, Risky?
Coors it 🍻
@@RiskyYT Same! And I'm beaming from the reply! Just logged into Layton Lakes to play. Happy hunting buddy, cheers :)

What about ducks and geese? They just keep coming back with hunting pressure for me.
i simply assume that dark spot was a splat of blood
Can u do hunting bison video I never saw one on that map
what gun are you using
Does anything happen if you don't harvest? Like does the kill disappear at some point?
Thanks for the videos, just so you know, this video isn't in the noob playlist! :)
How many animals till it deletes zones?
Can u tell me what animals I can hunt without buying any dlc? I just got the game
You can hunt any of them animals. No dlc are required to play

Lol… there’s something at least a TAD bit silly about relieving hunting pressure by killing more animals. 😂
I have killed so many animals but I can’t find them
Guy there weird Indian noises or something like that what is it and how can I make it go away
Rabbits too easy targets and kill em fast
