Yes. It’s has an 180° pan function. So you can extend or lessen the input from either side of the mic to balance the sound (depending on your kit configuration). However, for full overall input and volume control I would highly recommend also adding triggers. You can add 5 extra (apart from the one that’s already built into module for the kick). So 6 in total 👍🏻🤩
Hi there! A few years ago, I bought the trigger set to use with the Yamaha EAD10, but I'm having issues with the sound of the trigger I installed on the floor tom. The sound bounces, as if a marble were dropping, and I can’t configure it to stop doing that. Is that why you placed rubber inside the floor tom? Do you know how to fix it? Thank you very much!
@@lucianodutto5415 1:st question. Do you mean that you get several trigger hits even if you only strike it once. Is that the “marble” you refer to? And have it always been like this? 2:nd question. Does this only happen when you strike the floor-tom, or does it occur when you hit other drums as well? If so then you might have a “cross-talk” problem. 3:rd question. Have you tried to change sensitivity, reject time and velocity curve? My “foam-discs” are not for altering the response of the triggers. It’s more a sound thing. More dampened sounds works better with the triggers sounds. But it should be said that a “deader” surface triggers better. A tuned drum where the head is bouncy more easily miss-triggers. , John
@@flowerlandofjohn John! Thank you so much for your response, first of all. Let me answer your questions: Yes. When I hit the floor tom, it sounds once, but then one or two additional trigger hits follow, which are lower in volume and faster in speed, like some sort of resonance. This only happens when I hit the floor tom. I have triggers on the snare, tom 1 (rack tom), bass drum (which comes with the Yamaha EAD10), and one on the floor tom. The issue only occurs with the floor tom. What would a "cross-talk" be? Just so you know, I tried switching the triggers and cables to see if it was a "physical" issue, but it wasn’t. I also tried tuning the drumhead, using gel dampeners to eliminate overtones, and checking that the resonant head doesn’t vibrate… but I couldn’t fix the problem. No, I haven’t tried that. Does this configuration apply to all triggers, or does it only apply to the specific trigger I’m adjusting? Where can I find it? If not, could you tell me where in your video it is, and what I should do? Yesterday, while watching your video (for the fifth time), I started modifying settings but was afraid they would apply to all the triggers. I’m eagerly waiting for your reply! And once again, thank you so much. Apologies if the translation isn’t perfect; I’m from Argentina, and while I know some English, I don’t use it often.
@@lucianodutto5415 Your English is great. No worries, I’m Swedish myself so a second language to me too. But ok, you seem to have done the physical troubleshooting. Now then for the settings: While you are in the menu you can see what drum/trigger you are working on up in the corner of the display. Start with just looking there and strike different drums and you will see it change. In the menu go to “trigger” and then “pad type”, there’s all the things I mentioned. There you can also make sure that you assigned the right trigger-input for the right trigger. Choose 50S SN for snare and 50S tomH for rack-tom and 50S tomL for floor-tom. Then check the sensitivity and then the reject time. And remember to check the corner of the display so you’re working on the right drum. It should follow you when you just hit the different drum. It’s really easy. So don’t be afraid of exploring the menu, it’s the only way to learn and to get your drums to work with EAD10. Good luck and let me know how it goes ✌🏻🤩
@@lucianodutto5415 And: Crosstalk is when vibrations travel between drums. For instance if you hit your tom but your snare trigger also triggers, then in the crosstalk-menu you can turn other triggers off when you hit a certain surface. But this doesn’t seem to be your problem, but good to know 👍🏻
@@flowerlandofjohn You're a genius! It worked! I can’t believe it! I had bought the triggers six months ago and didn’t know how to fix it. As soon as I made the change, it worked! Thank you so much, genius!
Please I have an easy question if you can help ! I have an ipod nano with music on it and I'm not sure how to play along to my music with it plugged in. Do you just plug it in 'aux in' and wait until it recognises it ? What about music on an mp3 stick , how can I play to music that's on the mp3 stick how exactly is it done ? I hope I make sense ! I understand your problem ✌🏻😎 Download the app “Yamaha Rec n’ Share”. Upload your tracks to the app and you’re good to go with both backtracks & recording with the EAD10. And if you don’t have the original file then just screen record and save to your files, and then upload the track from your files to the app 👍🏻🤩
I am thinking of buying an EAD10 but I am concerned that a PA speaker about 1,5 M on my right will affect the set up, it’s only a small studio. Also I thought that it was only possible to have a snare trigger, I must check this.
Well, feedback is absolutely a possible problem. But one way to overcome it is of course using more triggers. The EAD10 also has a “noise-gate” feature that can help, but most importantly is to use less “processed sounds” when using it live (mainly staying away from sounds with Compression). And having said that, you can add 5 triggers, and here’s how 👍🏻 ruclips.net/video/B737ieTS_x0/видео.htmlsi=PvJ33mdB0D4V7tp9
