    LOL! Yeah - I was somewhat stressed in law school. But my favorite self quote was "It was great - there were no LEGOS on the floor." I did what the law school recommended before starting school - no more. I had a toddler.

    Does this not affect your interpretations of the law based on what your instructor understands it to be?

    Basically don't try to read a book about laws without legal and academic counsel ;)

    Read for pleasure, catch up with old friends, or maybe enjoy a long weekend chilling cuz all of that is OVER once you start law school all the way until you take the July bar exam after you graduate in May. Post law school bar prep is more intense than law school itself.
    No Bar Passage = No Lawyer, all you have is a useless expensive piece of paper.

    What are some good books to read in prep of law school? I would be interested in watching a video about that and you giving particular reasons about each book and why you liked it and how it helped in law school and even in your profession.

    im a bit confused here, how do you take law school practice exams to polish your exam taking techniques before even studying the content...?

    • @LegalEagle
      @LegalEagle  6 лет назад +11

      We cover this in our masterclass. You can start practice exams earlier by extracting the law out of the answer (so that you don't need the law part memorized) then work on your exam skills. Knowing the law and working on your exam skills are two separate skills. That's why its so fatal to wait until the end of the semester to work on your exam skills.

    Very well thought out video. Very useful information. Helps me learn what and what not to do. But may I ask suggestions for schools themselves? I still have a few years left, but I feel that I need some pointers and that you would be the best person to ask.

    • @LegalEagle

      Sure thing. What do you mean by suggestions for schools? Rankings?

      Check out US News and World Report for the law school rankings. People generally agree on those rankings. The top three never change. Top 14 are considered the top tier, with a substantial drop off afterwards. More important to go to a top tier law school (rather than something outside the top) than the particular school in the top tier. Would I be OK with attending the number 15th ranked school, UT Austin?
      I live in Texas, and in state tuition there is much cheaper for me than if I were to go to a Georgetown or UVA for example. So is the dropoff from number 14 to number 15 significant enough as to warrant paying extra?

      @shivampatel1359 3 года назад +1

      @@sairamesh5521 I’m from TX also, honestly UT is well known for everything and anything in the country. I don’t think it’s a big drop off. I wish I was able to get into a top 50 school but hey end of the day getting in any where is heck of an achievement

      He’s saying don’t read them before you get to class. Don’t read your casebook in the weeks leading up to classes..

    What's your advice if I get accepted into law school for this Fall and having less than a month to prepare?

  • @jordanwright5795
    @jordanwright5795 2 года назад

    Objection. I believe that there can be some utility to listening to law lectures and studying the concepts prior to law school. Memory for many is based on hanging ideas and facts on a composite of other related ideas and references. The more of those references you already have the easier it can be for some to store new concepts in the framework that has already been developing.

      What makes me useful, is i dont have any special interests and i dont have to care what people think and i dont have to care about the social or professional slants of making friends, contacts, business associates.
      I can just look at people for who and what they are in their rawest form and speak to them however i want because i have nothing to lose
