We do this all the time and one time we did the 3-4 progression (“worthy is the lamb, worthy is the lamb”) like 12 times and you talk about building tension… when we came back to the 1 people were BAWLING! Just a suggestion brother. Your MD skills are undervalued, I’d love having you as an MD.
So great to hear and witness while you're doing all of these stuff behind the great worship experience. Keep posting worship materials that will edify the body of CHRIST! God bless you bro!
Okay so I have a bit of a technical question. I'm looking for a device I can use to record my in-ear mix with talkback (jack or mini-jack output), but I'd like to do that while simultanioulsy recording video. And I want to do this using my Android Phone, with a suitable app for example. I'm not sure if this is doable though. So can I ask you for advice? What do you use to record? And do you layer audio and video later or is it recorded simultaneously?
Can’t believe this is where mechanical worship is at! Unreal! Doing it like this leaves no room for spontaneity, and repetitive lines No thanks from me!
This actually is a very helpful environment for spontaneity, as the MD is following/giving cues from/to the singers, and if something happens the musicians are able to respond to it with direction and accuracy
The secret is to have a good listening ear, combine that with your musical skill. If there’s a struggle there, practice at home, we as musicians should be able to flow anywhere at anytime, the only person that might need directions in spontaneous arrangements will be your drummer. This mechanical style stops you from smiling and being happy The amount of musicians I see on stage that don’t smile and look happy is phenomenal, and this is the image the people gotta look at.

This view makes the stage look super huge compared to the vid that was released
Good stuff man.

Curious- do you think it’s mechanical to use a metronome? That’s all a click is. It helps keep everyone in sync when you’re spread across a stage.
