I love Dragon Blaze :), Yeah I like In The Hunt and love the art style of the game too just not so keen on the slow downs but ya get used to it lol. Depends on the version of MAME because they can be different to set up the background images (bezels). I give you this guys video he goes through everything from making your own bezels to setting them up ruclips.net/video/NNsqSoV2Ax8/видео.html
nice selection dude! i am making some compilation packs with vertical shooters and would be great if you could share some tips on how to aply especific bezel arts to individual games. im planning to make a very special pack
+Andrey Wasilewski Thanks dude. Download some bezel zip files then put them in your artwork folder, bezels can be funny sometimes though, and depending on your version of Mame you must have the bezel png files and a default.lay file inside the zip file, the default.lay is the file that tells the png file where to display on the screen and can be edited if you know what your doing. The bezel zip files in your artwork folder must have the same rom name of that specific game. Also make sure you tell Mame in the settings to use bezels, then you should be good to go. The bezels wont show if the rom you are playing exceeds the roms resolution compared with your monitor if you have the game in stretch mode and have no black boarders.
I really don't care for bullet hell games so i'm kinda disappointed in this list. I'd much rather play Toaplan games like Truxton II, Fire Shark, Dogyuun, Outzone and Twin Cobra, or Psikyo games like Gunbird 1 + 2 and Strikers 1945 I & II (good to see Dragon Blaze here though). I also dig Rayforce, Raiden, Phelios, and other late 80's - mid 90's shooters, this was the golden age for me.
Me too but I've softened on them in recent years and have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of some of the early CAVE titles. Have you ever tried Dangun Feveron? It's like Cave's attempt to go back to their Toaplan roots. It's less bullet hell and more fast moving aimed shots like Toaplan games and Raiden.
Truxton 2...played it alot on holidays near my hotel when I was a kid..never finished it. Got it for MAME and finished it with "free" credits (as you wouldnt spend real money ) and by spawning 2nd player only to use the special move(the skull thingy) and even so it was very hard. Never knew I was playing p2w games since that many years ago.(get the joke: you had to buy and insert so many coins if you actually wanted to win/beat the game)
Hi i'm looking for a vertical shooter, First or second boss with a rhomboidal shape, years within 87-91, spaceships not airplanes... Do you know the name?
im looking for a shooting game that has a wave and bomb power up or charge ( i cant remember exactly ) the background was like in space . and the bullets are like big white eggs simillar to batsugun
2 player vertical shoot em up arcade game. Two guys with shoulder cannons. Where one of the weapons is a giant ball on a string. They’re spinning over their heads. Help please
LENNOZ I just use emuparadise and use google for searching best arcade shoot em ups and sometimes go down my mame list one by one to find some obscure ones, but thats really time consuming.
@La Onda it sounds to me like you have screen stretch on. I can't remember what version I used in this video, but I use the latest MAME 64bit mamedev.org/release.html
I can't get these games to work on MAME for PC, it doesn't run, do I have to change something? I downloaded the ROMS from emuparadise.me but when I put them into the rom folder they do't work, do I have to change something else too?
Do you get any error messages while trying to run any of them? It could be a whole lot of things, ranging from the MAME version you have and the rom set's version and missing files in your roms. It can get quite complictaed I would try Google or RUclips search for MAME roms not working, MAME roms missing files, how to fix MAME roms ect.
I don't think any of the roms in my video need a CHD, you could check your MAME directory and direct your MAME to the roms folder, check to see if MAME shows the roms in the Available roms working roms part. If none of that works I would do what I suggested before. What it sounds like to me is a miss match from your version of MAME and MAME rom version.
In MAME 0.188 once MAME is running on the left click Available that will show only the roms you have, If it doesn't show the game you are trying to run, it will mean your roms directory is wrong.
More like my favorite Cave games
Dragon Blaze
Long Live The Vertical Shooters!!!
Hi m8 do you still look at retro gaming?
Best ESPrade
I'm awful at shmups...but I love playing them. Makes no sense at all
Don't have to be good at something to enjoy it :) Cary on shmuping.
Love is just the beginning! A hard love but you will see, that the longer you play it, the better you become and then you will love it even more ;)
Great list! Saving it for when I cannot make up my mind what to play with the GF. Cheers!
Nice man! Dragon Blaze is so nice. Do you like In The Hunt? Pretty nice horizontal scrolling. BTW, how did you change your background image?

Dodonpachi series or cave shmups in general stay legendary (besides many other nice series, but cave stands for my personal classics).
These games look bad ass. I want to play all of them. Thanks, mate.

LENNOZ I just use emuparadise and use google for searching best arcade shoot em ups and sometimes go down my mame list one by one to find some obscure ones, but thats really time consuming.

my childhood💕💕💕💕💕💕💓💔💔
how do you play futari on mame?
It's all about having the right rom-sets for the version of Mame you are using, and the master rom with all the right files.
@@ng7557 i work with names.
Can you tell me how you made the screen smaller as shown in your video?
With me it's all bloated, what emulator did you use?
@La Onda it sounds to me like you have screen stretch on. I can't remember what version I used in this video, but I use the latest MAME 64bit mamedev.org/release.html

I have the lastest MAME x64 emulator, the message says: No games found.. I downloaded it from emuparadise, does it need a CHD?

Every game looks exactly the same.
What version of Mame do you use ? Thanks for your selection dude!
