    Easily implemented with only hand tools. Nice! By far the simplest design I've seen.

    Sin ninguna duda esta es la mejor y más sencilla idea para fabricar el famoso hose clamp, felicitaciones.
    Without any doubt this is the best and simplest idea to make the famous hose clamp, congratulations

    Out of all the variations of this tool, I choose this one to build. The turning nut in the location that it is, makes it difficult to advance the rod with a open end wrench. I used a larger diameter washer, 3/8 bolt and the nut took a 5/8 wrench to turn. I would suggest using a ratchet wrench. I didn't have one that size, but I'm sure it would function a lot better than the open end wrench, which barely fit.
    I built another one using 1/4/inch bolt. The nut is 7/16 wrench size, which is easier to work with. A ratchet wrench is still recommended, but not necessary with this size.

    A great example of a tool that anyone can make and have in their toolbox. Super simple to build with cheap and easy-to-get parts. It might be a bit slower to use than the more expensive builds but no fancy building tools are needed and for the person who might use it only once in awhile, it is all they need. Well done for breaking it down to the very basics of function to get the job done.

    Nice job. I just invented a similar tool, independent of your creation. I used a 4" long, 1/2" bolt. I ground down the end of the bolt to a taper before cutting the slot.

    This is great , I also wrapped some electoral tape around it first , it helps to stop cutting into the hose when it expands.

    Pretty good I would have used a fine-tuned 5 degree ratchet and made the washer a plate

  • @tinamarie4875
    @tinamarie4875 3 года назад +1

    I'd make sure the washer's outside diameter is very large which will help use a wrench to tighten the nut. If its too small, you will struggle using a wrench.

    That's nice but unless you double loop it around, that won't hold any significant pressure for very long. Need also to use a stainless high tension lock wire/safety wire of aviation grade. Diameter of .032 is easiest to work with. In a pinch though ( no pun intended) nice gadget for a quick clamp technique.

    cheap alternative to use in a pinch for that once in a great while need to make a hose clamp but like others have said 2 loops are better then one and this would / does take at least ten times longer then the clamp tight tool as using the wrench for ever qtr turn eats a lot of time. Still with that said gonna order the proper stainless wire and make this tool or one of others I have seen and use the best design. since this is made up of crap I got lying around making this only eats up time not money. would have to store this tool taped to the wire because over the years just looking at it i would forget what it was for ?

    I have made it but the results are not good. Will you please specify the bolt size with nut and the washer size: further I wish you to help me on the following :-
    1.The depth of the cut and width of the cut in the bolt.
    2. V shaped cut in the washer details as above.
    Since I made it with the available material perhaps my these things would have been overlooked. Also please guide me the spanner I need for tightening. Thanks

      I personally would grind down the tip to about eighth of an inch. Try holding the boat with some vice grips as you turn the nut with a wrench. I think you would have great success. I am going to make one as I described. Make sure you have a wide enough washer so you could turn the bolt with a wrench.

      The wire technique is much better than a hose clamp. It won’t get in your way. And is stronger.
