- In a best of 7 series the Onondaga Red Hawks take on the undefeated Tuscarora Tomahawks for the Can Am Lacrosse Championship. Winner of the Can Am Lacrosse League will represent the Can Am League at Presidents Cup, where all the top Sr. B teams compete to be crowned victor!
In Game 1, Onondaga deals Tuscarora their first loss of the season. Onondaga wins 13-9.
Game 2, will be played Saturday July 28th at 7:00 pm in the Onondaga Nation Arena.
Some vulgar language is used in live game play, apologize if anyone is offended.

I never watched box lax before. It’s insane to me that you can hit people like that who aren’t playing for the ball. I’ve only played field lax so there must be quite a few rule differences.
Ken, I'm glad you've stumbled across box lacrosse and how the game is played. It is a much more physical game than people anticipate. I played D1 college football for Sacred Heart University and Box Lacrosse is a much more physical sport!

I prefer to do as much as the ref allows, play within the confines of the game to make the biggest impact. Believe you me the slashes go both ways lol

I've never played box lacrosse but I really want to. I only play field lacrosse and I noticed you check a lot even when the guy doesn't have the ball. It's obviously legal or else you'd get called a lot but my question is why do you do that? Any major benefit as a defensive player if you do that? Also, you play at a high level, is all that checking done at lower levels? Like college age or a men's league?
That's a great question! In box lacrosse it is legal to cross check off ball, if you do it too much you can be called for interference but you have to find what the ref will tolerate. Checking off ball keeps the offensive players mind on you and not so much on the ball movement, also in a 7 game series each check wears on the opponent. Come game 7 they will be questioning why to even bother cutting the middle.
Bill O'Brien damn that's badass. Definitely will bring that into my style of play now. I play pole and main goal is to check them so hard that they don't want to dodge on me. This dude is a HUGE hack. Can't keep up skill wise and makes up for it by breaking the dudes wrist before he gets the ball.

If I was in an actual league like this I'd play like that but if I was in a mens league like you know where one team wears dark the other white, then I'd play more toned down cause everyone is there to stay in shape and not compete. My opinion though not sure about Billy....
