Back then fansub groups didn't had official lyrics for the songs till the single came out and someone either bought it or they found a scan of the booklet, so till then they had to guess the lyrics by ear.
I think that's a fandub. Just watch it subbed, that's what I did (I watched the first season dubbed as well). The subs are good and the voice actors are good as well. Just adjust to the change of names for a lot of things and it's fine.

第12話のラストシーンでこの曲が流れたのは一番痺れた。
用語は難しいけど、見てるうちに自然に頭に入ってくる神アニメ。戦闘シーンが神かかってる。特にサブラク戦。EDもアニメの中で一番カッコいい。シャナ可愛いｗそしてかずみが一番好きだった俺少数派ｗｗ とにかくＪＣスタッフのアニメ、シャナは俺の青春でした

Hmm I see. The new voice actors in the English dub threw me off too but I'll get back to it eventually.

Season 2 was very meh. Loads of school life filler episodes. Season 3 is worth the buildup though imo.
