Mom’s have worn babies to work for much longer than there have been baby sings. Throughout history in places like Peru & Bolivia, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, etc. You’ll find mons with babies on their backs. Western culture does the most unnatural thing, separates mom and baby. Babies sit in bounces all evening and daycare centers all day. Babies prefer to be close to mom. Studies indicate how healthy this is for babies social and emotional development. It creates a strong bond and builds confidence in the child. There is a reason babies scream and cry when you put them down. They feel insecure. Baby wearing creates security. That mom will not abandon them. They grow up into confident and independent adults. Remember the babies in Chinese orphanages that died because nobody picked them up? They only did the bare minimum and fat and change them. I’m not saying mom can’t have time to herself, which is healthy too. I’m only saying that babies need that closeness a baby wearing is the healthiest option.

Yeah, we do that also here in the cordillera, northern Philippines we carry our child at our back, so we can do our house hold chores
