The Harpies were most likely pissed off that you stole their sky treasure or invading their territory. Think of them like flying gorrillas of sorts, which Gorrilas are extremely territorial and can brutalize a person if they disrespect their territory
So that's why, when you interact with the dryad in terraria, there is a chance for her to say.. "The Corruption tried to take me over when I went to Etheria, but instead, I used its power against the Old One's Army!", So that's why she has a corrupt form.

No, she is not a free hero, like all update heroes. You can unlock her after spending enough time to collect 10,000 hero medallions, as you can for all heroes, but I'd surmise that the initial launch will cost 12,000 hero medallions instead, as all heroes before have cost.

I have an honest question. If the dryad has a corrupt form, why can't she use it to help while I'm fighting a boss instead of just sitting there waiting for the boss to kill her?
She hates the corruption, and is only using it here because she's vulnerable in another universe and it won't leave her alone. In Terraria she's a pacifist that acts as support.

@@phuc_real well, the moon lord wasn't in the 100% of his power because we doesn't let him come back to life with it after killing his brain and parts of his body like the destroyer, skeletron, etc. And the empress of the light is our boss, because we are working for the princess and well... is the princess of the light, her mother is the empress of the light, she even use light powers and give us things that are about her kindom. And the creator of the light doesn't sound like something bad

You can unlock her after spending enough time to collect 10,000 hero medallions, as you can for all heroes, but I'd surmise that the initial launch will cost 12,000 hero medallions instead, as all heroes before have cost.
