The actor playing Archie is the 7th Doctor Sylvester Mccoy
Was my favourite "old doctor" before the new series "David tennant"
That's what I came here to say 🙂 and that he was in the Hobbit movies as well.
He also played Radagast (wizard) from the hobbit movies
@@FeedbackPeteRadagast the Brown. Gandalfs wee Scottish pal.
Who cares
Aff when it aired caused alot of people to call loved ones abroad, the amazing thing about still game is how it connects with people
I’ve been waiting for more Still Game. Love these reactions man and so glad someone love our Scottish humour ❤🏴
First sentence: "This is going to be a review instead of a reaction".
"Ooooooooooooh I love your reaction!".
@@yorkyswe shut up I’m being nice and supporting his content. I wrote this comment before starting the video and hearing him say that. It doesn’t make a difference because he’s still watching it.
Alan mate,
Can I just pay tribute to the great late David McCallum who sadly passed away yesterday at the venerable age of 90.
(He'd had a good innings)
It was only a few weeks ago that I suggested to you 'Sapphire and Steel' for your sci fi collection/reviews.
He also ⭐ in the wonderful 'Man From Uncle' and 'The Invisible Man' as well as Ducky in CSI.
A truly great actor,
(God Bless Him)
🏴🇺🇲🏴🇺🇲 👍👍👍❤️
I used to love Sapphire and Steel when I was a kid and thought he was absolutely perfect playing the eccentric pathologist DR Donald 'ducky' Mallard in NCIS an absolute legend. RIP David McCullum👍🙏
@@martindunstan8043
🙂👍❤️
loved david mccallum!. and aye i remember sapphire and steel well too.
@@scotmax8426
It was fantastic!
Really scary as well, and very deep plots..
👌👍❤️🙂
It's enough to know that ye understand our patter and the dark sense of humour, it's actually good watching the reactions of somebody from another country genuinely enjoy. The bonus for me is seeing places I know personally but the really enjoyable but is watching yourself buckle wi laughter. Brill as usual my friend👍
5:08 *John Logie Baird's* (the inventor of TV) Canadian grandson *Iain Logie Baird,* used to work the *National Science and Media Museum* in *Bradford* the world's first *UNESCO City of Film* from April 2007 to May 2016. He still works in *Bradford* today when he's not working in Scotland. *Bradford* was also home to the *Baird Television Factory* which was the *largest TV factory in Europe* before it closed in 1978.
Little known fact. Peter Sutcliffe had a job at the Baird factory.
Soon as I saw Archie I smiled, it's McCoy! It's the Doctor! 😄😆
Loved McCoy even if the era of Dr Who wasn't the best he stole the scene he was in every time. So good to see him in this show 😊
This show just reminded me of a wee bit of good old fashioned Glasgow humour from my Dad, way back in 1997. Titanic was just out in the cinemas, my Dad took his gf to see it. By pure coincidence when he got home the washing machine had flooded his house. Instead of cracking up he just looked at his gf and said 'Thank God we didn't go to see The Towering Inferno.'... And now just noticed my old house is in this episode. High rise flats at 54:08 middle row, 8 flrs up. And the building behind Isa during the same scene is my old primary school, which got shut down by Margaret Thatcher in the 80's. And it's literally a stones throw from where I still live just now.
Was that a Grenfell joke??
@@philjones45 No m8, this show & the joke from my Dad was from way before Grenfell happened. It's an old movie joke.
Love it mate! Keep reacting to this! It’s golden to watch along, Christmas and new year episodes are next in your timeline of this show as well it just gets better and better
Still Game The Party episode was amazing.
Love these reactions so much as a Scotsman always great to see others embrace our stuff 😂🏴
Hi Beard! just want to say i subbed to your channel for a while now and being from Scotland myself im so glad you are finally watching Still Game, its also great to see that you get the humour and understand alot of the jokes, i love your reactions to the show and cant wait till the next video, all the best brother much love from Scotland!💙🏴
His son is living in South Africa,so when he said they went to see the his wife's parents who were down "the road" in england but never came to him,his son was flying from Johannesburg to England and didn't take a few hrs to drive to Scotland
I live in Dunoon. Argyll Scotland...Boaby came to a local pub as a guest and did hus acting as Boaby....it was very good. ..the old man in this èpìsode was a previous Dr ŴHO.😊😊😊
Wee spoiler but the fella that plays the surgeon (the comedian bruce morton) that tells winston that the leg is to come off comes back to play a brilliantly creepy character in a later series
Well spotted!
I did not pick up on that at all!
To be fair. He can stay in that flat forever. It's waaayyy bigger on the inside.
Brilliant comment!
The proper REACTION EB is that your enjoying it so much that your watching and laughing along WITH us ! And there’s no more natural reaction than that , it’s been a pleasure mate ✊
👍🏴
The ability of this series to make you laugh and cry in the same episode is unreal
Who would of thought a Time Lord wouldn't have known any history from 1966 onwards? Great reaction as always EB, cheers
Two episodes in a row, what a treat. We'll be expecting two Dr Who's, next.
You get 2 or 3 doctor who a week from Alan
One of my most watched episodes, glad to see you are still enjoying the show, Enjoy
I wouldn't trust Chris the Postie to deliver anything, never mind that big Telly 😂. Some brilliant bits in both episodes. Winston is just the best. Brilliant having a double episode. Thanks man. Thanks also for taking the time to watch them a second time in order to post something for us. That must have been really frustrating!!
We know u love still game. I wanna see u baffled at more league of gentlemen 😂
I watched this in bed while waking up and it gave me a burst of energy to go about the day.
A bit of trivia for those who don't know.... 'victor ' had to wear colored contacts as his eyes were said to be too blue to go with the aged look
ive always found you on my recommended and ive always watched, your laugh is infectious, plus your'e reactions are the best! not just watching the content and adding nothing to it, but also not overtly laughing over the the whole thing for no reason. ♥
It is beautifully written and well acted I think the humour transcends its Skittishness to touch people from around the world and your response is heart warming. Many thanks.
On a wee side-note, Sylvester McCoy's (The guy who plays Archie) favourite fish & chip shop is "Anselmo's" in his hometown of Dunoon, on the west coast of Scotland.
My father died on Saturday. This episode makes me wonder if I visited him enough. Five minute walk over the road and saw him a lot but when they go you start thinking that you should have been over there 9 days a week.
Omg can’t wait me mum are ready to watch this at her hospital beside thank you Alan
I remember my 1st Mickey D's in London. Best thing ever. Chris the postie (Sandy Nelson) was my sisters BF for a while.
Aaah the music this is Your Life! Sums up his past life and this amazing world he is encountering.
Sylvester McCoy who played Archie played the 7th Doctor apart from a one off film in the nineties before the reboot with Christpher Ecclestone
Archie played by Sylvester McCoy who also played Dr. Who.
Alan, Sylvester McCoy who played reclusive Archie, was the 7nth DOCTOR WHO in the late 80's
You saved me some typing 👌
I have really enjoyed you reaching to Still Game! I had no Idea this amazing show had crossed the pond. ❤️🏴
Yass. Can't wait to see your reactions.
Saw as well that you're planning a trip to the UK soon? You'll definitely need to come to Glasgow to see the locations. Some have gone but most are still there :)
I should point out the netflix versions of the episodes have minor cuts and music changes. The DVD releases also had minor music changes from the original broadcasts, but this was mostly for copyright reasons, netflix made actual cuts to the episodes. Don’t know why. 😢
I met Archie at comic con Aberdeen (same place I met Boaby, Winston, Isa, Navid, and big Innes) and he's totally crazy but he's lovely 😂
Alan its great that you watch it in real time without pontificating too much like other youtubers. It would be much better if the screen could be made slightly bigger.i tend too watch it on my mobile phone with headphones.
I love this it’s the perfect balance of humour and drama in this episode. I also appreciate the circle of life where roles are reversed and you end up treating your parents like children eventually. The scene with John and victor is brilliantly written and acted
Another cracking video, again its an absolute pleasure re watching still game way you mate 👍
Am hoping you don't move the still game videos to twitch, as I don't do any social media, youtube is all I watch,
Again tho, pleasure watching with you, & I look forward to the next episode, 👍🏴
Sylvester Mcoy ,great screen presence, part of the reason he made a successful
Job of playing 'Dr Who'
Quite clever, using the 'This is your Life' iconic theme tune, when there in the
'Changed town'
Also the Bacon with cheese double quarter pounders are the "dogs bollocks".
Thank you for the Double-bill. Loving these vids!
I feel a genuine sense of happiness when I see the thumbnail for a Still Game reaction pop up on my feed. 😂 Keep them coming Alan! Much love, from Bangkok 🇹🇭❤️
As a Scotsman I appreciate that you can enjoy our sense of humour 😂 and ultimately shocked that you understand the patter 😂🎉
Eb,theres some really great episodes too come I've probably seen each one ten times over, but i love you're reactions I'll drop a prevalent comment if i think anything passed you by.
Great to see more still game probably my favourite Scottish show
Watch the one with robbie Coltrane bus driver
He's working his way through the whole lot. I love that episode too though
Believe it or not Archie was once Dr Who!!!!
You're doing a great job eb. Love your reactions
Hi from Scotland... Ya cany beet the Scott's my friend lol....enjoy my friends fa Scotland 🏴✌️😉👍🏴
Tell me you're not scottish without telling me you're not scottish 😂😂
As well as being Dr Who he also played Radagast the Brown in the Lord of the Rings films
Meeting Isa and Navid this weekend, looking forward to a few laughs on the night.
As for this episode, tou would think Dr Who would have known what he'd missed since 1966.
love the fact that you love this show and can keep up with our accent lol. Would love to see your reaction the the 2006 Hogmanay Special where they're looking back and you see what they actually look like before being made up!
Don't worry about a reaction, I for one enjoy watching the show and seeing you laugh and hearing what you say.
Review was just as interesting, love your content honestly would go as far as saying you’re my favourite RUclipsr, always supplying the best content!
Many many thanks.
Wee fun fact for you, Sylvester McCoy (Archie) played Doctor Who in the 80s 😀
Winston has magnifier on backwards!!!😂😂😂😂
Great vlogs as usual 😎👍🏻🤣🤣
Fantastic reaction as always 😂👏👏👏. Looking forward to seeing the next in the series 👍👏👏👏👏
The thing with the big US fast food chain outlets in the U.K. is that unless you lived in or very close to a big city, you probably didn’t get to them often, if at all. I know that I didn’t live close to one of these fast food outlets until around 1990ish (I was around 15 at the time) when Burger King took over the Wimpy in the closest large town to where we lived. The closest McDonalds was about a 45 minute drive away and the likes of KFC or Pizza Hut were the best part of an hour away by train. It’s much different now of course.
Nice one mate! Back to normal again 😂😂 love waiting for your reactions, every time you laugh my son says, you watch that American guy with the big beard again! 😂😂 keep it up mate.
I think that kid in sliver car got paid to try and take her out haha
When Winston is on about smoking Senior Service and none of yer 'Silkies' (Silk Cut low everything smokes blurgh)
Don't forget the Christmas and New Year Special after some of the series. I understand IMDB have them listed, but they cock one of the series up
Sylvester McCoy was also in the film series The Hobbit.
Archie was Doctor Who for a couple years back in the day.
lol great reaction to two great episodes. don't go anywhere lololol, i like watching these ;) Also have to say, loved the double episode!!! :D
Just brilliant .. any episode any season . Thanks buddie 🤣😂🤣
EB - Messages = Groceries 👍
👍🏴
I live in England and when I say I’ve been for my messages they haven’t a clue what I’m talking about. 🤭
They also call a stretcher for your washing line a clothes prop 😂
@@BlowinFree I also live in England now and both my daughters were born here but me n the ex have been indoctrinating them since babies in our culture too 😆
👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering i enjoy living in England but don’t half miss the patter. It’s great you keep you children grounded. Love your username btw 💯😎
@@BlowinFree there’s only a few who grasp the full meaning of my username 😆your obviously one of them 👌
Although we both kept our daughters up to speed with their heritage it was also important they assimilated and are proud of England too and they are , which is cool .
I’m a Glasgow and Livi man myself , you ?
👍🏴
Alan needs a clansman T-shirt
Just love seeing what you laugh at. Keep ‘em coming ❤
12:02 that was my old swimming hole.
On the subject of MacDonalds, I think the last time I ate one was in about 1995.
TV’s have come right down since then you can pick up largest screen for bout 300 quid, I’m sure there even cheaper in America👍
Youre almost getting to prime still game ! Season 4/5/6.
You do know archie is raddergast from lord of the rings movie. Hes not in the books but still pulls it off xx
loving these
Archie also played the part Rab C Nesbitt brother ...
"RIP VAN WINKLE" STORY❤❤❤❤
Loving these. Top class content, shall subscribe ones Ive finished this video 😊
glad your still loving it!
fab double ep.who round there can afford that toy car?
glad your doing this and dr who cause archie played by sylvester Mcoy is the 7th dr so you'll get to see more of him minus the scots accent.
Ah, look who it is...
Sylvester McCoy went to my school. Blairs College. Junior seminary.
Barst++d Geoff Hurst scored an hatrick in the 1966 world cup final when England beat West Germany 4-2, sadly he is the only survivor of that team.
There is plenty more "best" episodes to come yet😊
loved it when Winston's paintroller wasn't a Chekhov's paintroller
Loved this Al....2 in a row. Briiliant
biggest sin in this episode is when winston says "Cola do you Navid?" he then hands him a Pepsi........triggered lol
Glad u enjoyed us glasgow ppl
You’re going to enjoy Winston’s prosthetic leg. Trust me.
just like to say from Dublin Ireland classy man .
ARCHIE...PLAYED THE BIRD LOVING WIZARD IN THE HOBBIT FILMS. 👍👍👍👍🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
sad that you weren't able to put out a fresh first time reaction especially with a double feature because of computer problems but its good to see a new one anyway
Ecclectic alan👋🏻 Always love watching you react to our humour. Genuine offer, if you have a P.O box id happily send you a piece of official Still Game memorabilia. Not exactly something youll find stateside. Also, if you fancy gettin fired into some Tunnocks Teacakes, lemme know and ill hook ye up with some boxes, you can get rattled into them watchin Jack n Victor. As ive said in previous posts, im assuming youre watching on netflix. The themetune for Still Game is an old song that kicked off a rights issue. That song is NOT on the dvd or netflix version. What you hear is made for dvd & streaming themetune. Youll get the o.g on youtube. The same can be said for the shows finale. Giving NOTHING away sir, there is a famous song in the finale that helps tell the story. Its key. It was removed due to rights on netflix, like the intro, some random tune is put in. I asked the director Michael Hinds about it on tweeter (X)and he said he agrees it spoils the scene. I think its important you know this going forward so that you can see the INTENDED scene with the intended song when the time comes on youtube. Most shows nowadays when they finish a series the ending is an abject disappointment. Still Game went out on a high. All be it the final few seasons after the decade long hiatus really do vary in quality. I does hurt to be honest and say there are a couple of truely crap episodes in the final few seasons but mostly they nail it. Anyway all best from 🏴
59:25 It's just a shorted version of "Hoot and a half", right?
54:40 Victors son head shaven, change hair John
Please Keep doing the double episodes if you can.. 👍
