I have purchased 2 for my layouts, one for my lockdown project and the other for the main layout when I get around to building it. Going to change the bags for a cloth representative to give it more flexibility and have them so the filler is in the same place as Jenny, the bag would then be moved across to the correct tank for each to be filled. can't wait to try one of them out.
A great bit of innovation to get the youngsters involved and have yet even MORE fun. The slit down the tube means you can bend the wires out of the way and cut it shorter if required. A truley complete kit and generous with the wire length too. Just need to see a kit with some animated and yelling train spotters! A good review again, enjoy using it, thanks Stephen.
I was half expecting the voices to migrate into singing a rendition of The Wurzels’ “I’ve got a brand new combine harvester” song. Proper ooh-aaah accents.
A nice idea and yes it will add extra play value. I bet they are now working on a working coaling stage or a coach cleaner with rotating rollers. The list is endless. I think you need to put a Railway worker there to add that finishing touch. Martin. (Thailand)
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for doing the video, I've already ordered one from Rails, and I'm looking forward to also describing it on my Southern Region Models site.
Hi Jenny nice little review of the water tower with fitting and operating function. I too am waiting for one to arrive in the post from Rails of Sheffield. Then got to decide to fit on loft layout, or small portable layout...😀👍
Hi Jenny, the GWR water crane arrived from Rails and now installed on the loft layout. I have added a fire glow LED under the brazier, bit bright at moment so needs dimming and need to give the braizer a rusty colour. 😁
What a fantastic new accessory 👍. Sound is a bit muffled, but that could be just the awkward position you had to try and record. On the whole, it looks the part, and it has a bit of customisation. Stay safe, GWR
On DCC do you still have to wait for it to cycle through each arm swing or can you press different F function buttons? I would have been good if they had also had an option of a Northern voice for the flat topped models and had the GWR ones with that accent
That's pretty neat but I think Dapol should have included a figure to hang on to the chain, at least with the motorized version. Yeah, some people would rather supply their own but I'll bet it's tough to find one in a correct pose without some "plastic" surgery.
Yes seems to be the 15vAC that is the problem. I run mine on 7.5v DC. Hattons have asked me to send it back .But if its only the AC issue i assume it will be ok.??? Bit difficult if i do as its embedded in my layout.
Jenny Hi, I have just received a recall notice re the Dapol Water Tower ! It appears it doesn't like 15v AC ? I think you said you were using a 12v DC Accessory Bus, so you should be OK. Have you any idea what the issue is ?
It sounds like they got a farmer to do the voices! or it sounds like the person in the dime bar commercials that says 'I like Armadillos' Brilliant video.
love the B4 in that colour. I believe it was a special for the now ceased dapol club. Anyone see one for sale let me know !!! One of the new releases (2022) looks similar apart from the cab.......
@@LeslieGilpinRailways i went on a hunt to find out they are auto filled from local reservoirs and the photo that was with it showed the reservoirs are on higher ground and gravity fill them
it varied by location, the towers at Newport (IOW) were connected to the mains, (and indeed were forgetten when the station closed, which was a bit of a blessing to the Wight Locomotive Society during their early years... free water!)
What pub toilets are you visiting that have guys saying “that’s full up” in them? The “should have worn my wellies” comment I could understand but the others? The mind boggles.
Sounds a bit like a lavatory flush, so running to the loo has already been done for you. Being analogue, I think I will go for the non-motorised version... Although come to think about it, it's a good bit of fun. Perhaps I should not be such a po-faced old curmudgeon after all...

Great video - thank you Jenny & Rails. And well-done Dapol for this innovative product.
So kind of you to do this video. Thanks to rails of sheffield for sending the link to my inbox
@sandyiitmip great demo, just purchased a dapol water tower, thank you.
That does look pretty fun. Definitely something for kids of all ages.

It's operable with a reed switch and magnet as well. The chain attaches to the spout (eyehook). Cool presentation!

that is pretty cool, looks like it was well thought out! Very nice ~ linda
Hi ya Jenny, that's a great little accessory. The young and old model railroaders amongst us would love that. Thanks for sharing. See ya next time.
Excellent, thank you for the video Jenny. Glad I ordered one from Rails and now looking forward to fitting it on my layout..

great video, just finnished installing the tower on my boxfile layout. its amazing
Thanks for sharing with us, Jenny! Already have mine on order. Can’t wait for it to arrive. Great video as always. Keep well. Cheers Caleb
Great additional to the layout thanks for reviewing it so well ...easy to follow installation...
Fabulous job of step by step instruction. I'd like to see more of this, especially installing TTS and DCC chips in various locos.

Hi Jenny ,i saw that they have done a recall on these now
!!
Hi Jenny, it all goes toward that extra something special to watch, Take care all . Mac
A nice working water tower look good on any layout 👍

Can you connect it in easily or do you have to call in a plumber?
Please be aware that Dapol have announced a Product Recall for this item. See Dapol website for details.
Wow absolutely amazing

Those voices are (unintentionally) hilarious. This is an intriguing new sort of accessory, however.
It’s a great accessory. I’d love to see a similar thing with stations, signal boxes and the like
@@GameHammerCG Gosh, just imagine a singalbox in 1:76 scale with a teeny animated signaller inside!
James Petts That would be SO COOL!!
Thanks, was just looking for a review and up yours popped in notifications.
Looks and sounds great awaiting mine from Rails of Sheffield. Great video.😀
The sound of running water is going to play havoc with my waterworks! Oh oh off to the loo again!
Looking forward to receiving mine, hopefully later today ! Looks fab 😁

Awesome water tower ❤️😎👍👍👍👍 awesome Jenny 10% ❤️
Can you get one in N Scale

Phil Harding, perhaps? :-)
I really want it to randomly shout about armadillos, now!

Thanks for a nice clip.
Now recalled by Dapol. 15vAC supply will kill it.
question who filled up the towers is it mains supply from water board
There'd be a reservoir nearby or a river.

Thanks for sharing Jenny. But the sound is as from Mars. Not my piece of cake. I'll rather go for the static type. Nice accessory though. Greetings.
Thats Great.
Do you need DCC for this to work ??
Michael Naisbitt no it works on a 9V power feed.
No just a dc supply and works off the push button.
@@JenniferEKirk would it be okay from a duette output Jenny ?
Thank you Jenny MJ N 🇦🇺
I think the talking spoils what is a very good product, wish they would bring out a operational level crossing !
Pretty cool!
now that`s cool
That going to sell like hot cake, great fun
Interessante
A bit black wool as a hose would work .
did they record the sounds in a pub toilet

Most likely

Hope this is not someone’s idea of a joke...apparently Dapol has recalled their motorised water towers
Dapol recall says issues on 15V AC ---Has anyone had issues on 12V DC?
I've just watch Sam's Trains Review of the Same Dapol Motorised Water Tower!!!
Warning these water towers explode
For £42 I'd expect a little more detailing and a chain that's to scale. Talk about money for old rope. Nice vid though.
£42.50 for one of the easiest models to scratch build and with passing novelty value - Ridiculous!
The mechanics look oh. The sounds are pretty awful though !
Movements are too jerky
