These cars are even now so ahead of their time. I get so much attention and questions driving around London. I rebuilt my hybrid battery from scratch, I have changed the egr valve (huge difference). Even city driving I'm averaging 65-67 mpg!!! Love these cars
Thanks for sharing! That is awesome Andrew! People ask about it all the time especially when out to eat. I have been getting upper 50s on motor only. I really need to rebuild the hybrid batter lol
I have a new honda hybrid battery and cleaned out my EGR plate, replaced to the proper indexed plug, the EGR valve itself made that much of a difference for you?
I have a 2000 insight and add the gerkyness. Turns out the wide band O2 sensor was bad, causing this problem(even after cleaning everything has you did. If you change this O2 you absolutely need to put the ngk unit (not bosh)
Yes good tip, ngk all the way. I monitored the 02s. Mine looked fine. What helped tremendously was switching to non ethanol gasoline. Appreciate you watching! What's your best mpg out of a tank of fuel?
@@Autofaze Around 4,8l/100km during summer and 5,4l during winter. Those numbers are in winter tires all the time with no lean burn. Will see what i can get with summer tires and lean burn (now working)
If you have RE 92 Potenza tires.Go to the90 psi for a few days. I’ve been doing it for four years. I get about 100 miles per gallon took my battery out and the passenger seat and the muffler -car weighs a lot less
90 PSI? Damn ive had it up to 60 before but it would rattle my teeth ha ha I currently have my RE92s at a less teeth jittering 50PSI in my CVT lean burn conversion and im getting so far my best mpg since ive converted it a week ago of 74.4 mpg. Looking to doing more mods to help raise that #.

@@Assasain31 yes it has smoothed out the ride immensely and I am getting around 75mpg combined
@@Autofaze How did you get on with rebuilding your hybrid battery, was it a success. How long has it lasted since the rebuild?
@andrewamidala i never did it. A collector in Nebraska offered to buy it so it went off to a new home!
Absolutely ahead of their time and an engineering tour de force, 1800#, incredible concern to weight, and aero.
Agreed! Defiantly ahead of its time! Thanks for watching!
Awesome...INSIGHT in living maintenance...routines.

the lean burn on this one isnt working either. I have gotten a best of 68mpg with re92 tires. Winter is low 50s. These little cars are fun!
"If you guys could only see what I'm struggling with" is an ironic statement in a how-to video.
Your username is fitting 🤣
Thanks for this man, love this model of the insight.
It's been a blast to have as a daily driver! People always ask "what is this?" Lol
@@Autofaze HAHA! Well, is good that they don't know.
@@bobbyching6008 i try to talk them into buying one lol a few people have 🤣

that is legit! I'll have to try that. Mine are on 60psi. Winter has me down to mid to low 50s

@@Perry_Fan nice!! I did 84 mpg yesterday utilizing lean burn. I notice once it gets into tve mid 50s the mpg really improves 👏
@@Autofaze You have a manual transmission or a CVT?
My car is a CVT
@@Perry_Fan manual car 🚗
Intake and exhaust valves, what the min max valve adjustments?
I looked them up on google when I did them
Great content 👏👏
Appreciate you watching
What odometer mileage do you recommend performing the egr plate cleaning?
Every 50k is sufficient. They get pretty gunked up 75k+
Thanks. 👍
@@FourDollaRacing thanks for watching!
Don't trust "lifetime mileage" on an Insight that you've purchased used, that number can be reset and hyper-miled before being put up for sale.
This is very true! Thanks for watching
Dragy!!
Bawhahahaha!
Keto

Dragy for sure
Hey Jeremy, Any predictions?!

The gears are crazy long, won't have to shift much haha!
