I never thought about that issue with celebrity/voice actor focused conventions :0 I mostly do a more voice-actor focused con and one thing I'm trying to do for them is have at least one print of one of the characters they've voiced. I've had people buy prints from me because they forgot to bring something to print/had said voice actors come by and buy the prints ;w;
It's definitely a good idea to align your products with the VAs attending! I've had that experience where customers wanted to buy something so they could give it to the VA or have it signed
I hate when people just say wow thats expensive. Don‘t they know how many time an artists has put in designing each item and there is the cost of production also and mor factors.
Sadly people aren't familiar with artist alley culture and assume we're drop shipping items without even thinking that we're the artist. Some people are used to Amazon and Aliexpress affordability unfortunately
The whole table situation has had me a panicking a bit when I first got there...thankfully they immediately offered to give an actual 8ft table. Also the heavy VA focus with over 400 vendors can definitely be a challenge since I did overhear several people say " I spent all my money on the VAs already".
Hey that's me @8:27 wearing the Knuckles shirt! Hope you liked the Pikachu stickers I gave to you and your friend! Thanks for letting us be in your vlog lol I'm sorry that this con didn't go so well for you, but I'm glad we got to meet you (felt like meeting a celebrity in a way lol) and support you in any way that we could. Hope to see you again someday!
Dag, well with every "failure" is a lesson learned! Keep up the great work and i like the sweater you posted on Instagram. You are definitely on the rise. Thank you for the videos. Don't let Vegas discourage you. You are The Awesome!
I would totally wait a year to see if they get the kinks worked out. However, the table situation would be a huge red flag for me. If your contract says an 8 ft table would be provided, then they should definitely not ask vendors to pay for the added table. I don't do cons (I crochet so I'm more of a craft fair/market seller - also in the so cal area), but that would make me very angry. Maybe skip next year. See if they have better numbers and if they've ironed out all the kinks, then re-evaulate if you want to try it again.
I actually went to your booth a couple times during Anime Las Vegas! I really wished the VAs weren’t charging so much for an autograph and picture. I really wanted to buy more of your work. The only well known con that does really well in Vegas is Lvl Up Expo. Other conventions, it’s just more of a hit and miss on how you enjoyed or experienced them. Hopefully that’s helpful in a way. Would love to see you in Vegas again!
I've done some artist allies recently and I've found that young children are the least likely to buy things. They'll look at my £1 badges and MAYBE their parents would buy it for them but having those £1 items contribute that little bit. I swear, sometimes, people turn up to conventions without money. 🤔
Didn’t know you came here to Vegas over the weekend!! 😱 I feel like Vegas is trying to grow a bigger anime con since there are a few smaller ones throughout the year, so hopefully we’ll get a great con soon like those in California. Regardless, your videos helped me with my first Artist Alley experience at a different convention earlier this month, and it’s been super helpful learning from your behind the scenes perspective and advice! Stay awesome, and hoping to get some merch from you soon!
Thank you so much! I can see this con growing in the next few years and it's great there's a few anime cons in Vegas that are trying to grow. I think for now I'll have to wait since costs are high for me but it's a great option for locals!
I don't get the people complaining about the prices of her items. 10-15 bucks for enamel pins is pretty normal. Goes to show how little some people know about manufacturing costs and art costs, especially if you're an indie artist.

I definitely felt that too 🥲 It might have been better if they reduced the number of vendors to half of the amount considering the number of attendees

Thanks again for saying hi and for the stickers! I had a great time despite everything else, hoping to attend another Vegas con soon!
You had a beautiful display. I was there on the Sunday.
thanks for the tip videos and vlogs! Still new to Artist Alley here but I'm taking notes from your vids ^-^ Good luck at your next event!

Thank you so much! I can see the potential with this con since it's still new, but I would love to try Lvl Up since I heard that one was good!
