@@islandwills2778 The thing is... the amount of ammunition and supplies to be given to Ukraine is actually growing. You may not be aware, but the western MIC have been ramping up for quite a while now and the results are showing. Just on the 155mm shells, by the end of the year 2024 they will be at 2.4 mio shells per year (not accounting for the 152mm of course), which is less than Russia, but way more than two years ago and 6'500 shells per day.
The western powers clearly didn't prepare nor planned for this war (showing they clearly didn't want it), but it's no surprise that a block of 900 million people accounting for half the wealth of the entire world, among them the US that alone procudes more oil that Russia can outproduce a country of 140 million people accounting for a tiny fraction of the world's wealth and already forced to refurbish old T-62 and beg North Korea for shells of dubious quality.

- There's no functioning democracy in Ukraine right now, Zelensky's legal mandate as president of Ukraine officially ended last month I think.
- A new member must fulfill an arm-long list of economic and financial requirements in order to ensure it won't be a further burden on the current EU members.
- The EU economy is in ... tatters right now and they can't afford a bankrupt new member, there's no budget for that.
The only reason why this nonsense is being talked about is to give a moral booster to Ukraine's military forces so they fighting for something, EU and NATO memberships have always been the carrots dangled in front of Ukraine, even if the EU managed to pull it out by breaking all its rules, Russia will never let it happen.

Basically he follows might is right and regards the US as the only superpower - with other words the US can always out produce any opponent and if needed beat any opponent. Of course he’s stuck in the late eighties and early nineties, without realizing that Russia is a peer nuclear superpower, even defeat Russia will take the US with it to oblivion. Today the US economy is entering a critical period, the petrodollar is under pressure, the US interest on debt is getting too high, the infrastructure is aging, education is lagging, industry is in a poor state after decades of off shoring even the Military Industrial Complex is unable to produce enough ordinance nor is it capable to replace aging systems in sufficient numbers (it can’t produce additional F-22s, the F-35 is an expensive jack of all trades, master of none). So how is Trump going to change the game without boots on the ground and once he escalates, how is he going to stop the conflict from turning into a nuclear Armageddon? He can’t. This is an existential conflict, the Russians will retaliate and f need be escalate the conflict globally.

It was good you mentioned Ukrainian losses. The Ukrainians are on pace to lose over 700k this year. There are so many videos of Ukrainian soldiers that are like 70 years old now. If the Ukrainian claims of forcing 5k men into mobilization are true it must only be because they are literally taken any man of any age
