I think a good addition to the Jell-O, for next time would be to add some edible glitter. It would make it look very magical, almost like a fairy portal
A tip for mirroring designs is to draw the lines at the same time. So draw one line of the left wing and copy it immediately on right! It works really well and makes the copying easier because your brain doesnt have enough time to forget how you drew the first line. I use this all the time when im drawing
Thank you bc as I read that I thought it'd be helpful for drawing. Just copy, pasted for this one butterfly I'm working on but that seems like a great tip for actually drawing the whole thing lol
Just a tip for next time you use jello in a similar technique… use a turkey baster to put it on or at least a small measuring cup with a spout so you have more control. Your cake is gorgeous!
My daughter saw this and watched it over and over. Now she is begging for this cake for her birthday. I'm going to try it with silver duster. I think it will be gorgeous.
Suggestion for making the sides match. Freeze the cake for a bit, put a sheet of wax paper on one side/wing. Use something like a dotting tool, icing pick, etc. to make dotted lines that you'll go over with frosting like you're playing connect the dots. Then, just pull up the wax paper, flip it onto the other wing, and use those same holes. Works every time.
They're referring to it as a gradient but the graduated look is correct in terms of describing how it looks. The dark purple to the light purple is a look that graduates from the dark to the light. Although yes, gradient is the right way to describe it, a graduated look is correct too.
you have no idea much nostalgia this brought me!! i’ve spent the whole day thinking of when i’ve seen someone do a butterfly cake similar to this! it turns out it was a kids tv show called hi5 i had on dvd that i watched when i was probably 3 !! the brain is such a funny thing ! thanks for unlocking it 😊
To do an exact copy on each side, use parchment paper cut to size on the cake. Fold in half. Open and draw a design on one half in a thin gel. Fold paper in half to copy on the other side, then open and press it to the top of the cake. Peel off carefuly. Go over it with the desired frosting to touch it up.
That’s literally the first cake I’ve seen on here that I think I can actually do and would probably like doing it. Thanks and btw you did great! It’s so pretty!
Wow!!There is so many possibilities with this technique, we can use glitter in jello or maybe try isilibg the wing details before pouring jello for creative a 3d type effects ❤❤
I think a good addition to the Jell-O, for next time would be to add some edible glitter. It would make it look very magical, almost like a fairy portal
I was also thinking that she shpuld apply the jello with a syringe instead of from a bowl to avoid spills
Thissss
Exactly what I was thinking
I read that "good addiction to Jell-O." Idk why 😅
I like the more realistic take on the butterfly ngl I feel like everyone associates them with magic and fairies rather than the insects they are lol

Genuinely, thank you for the tip!!!!
Thanks for the great tip 💟
Great tip!!

You are SO talented! That is amazing!!
awww thank you😊
Wow 👏 how could you duplicate these small details and keep your hand steady ❤ !?!
This but orange cake and use black and white outline I think would be amazing!
i love how the gradient turned out darker in the middle and lighter on the outside! it worked out perfectly, the cake looks beautiful💜🦋
I love how the shade fits in place perfectly!
The idea for the shape of the butterfly was simple yet genius 🦋
great idea for the jello! you could also use melted jolly ranchers to give it a crunch.
sounds delicious 😍😍
@@zoraackerman1684jolly ranchers are a type of candy
Wouldn't that make the buttercream melt??
What about like a jelly or
Like filling but as top
Layer obviously 😍
if you like peppermint, I added smashed up candy canes last year and the texture and added mint was really delightful with chocolate cookie pops

This video's content is absolutely fantastic! 🌟

Really pretty...try black frosting for details and may use some glitter in the jello itself
It's so pretty! It's giving BTS ARMY vibes💜

i really love the purple gradient you did with the frosting. its so creative
I have never seen such a cake design before. It does not even look like a cake. More like a piece of art. Home deco.
The fact that it is a PURPLE butterfly cake immediately reminds me of Nuru and hawk moth
SO SO SOOO GORGEOUS! Wow, I love it 💜💜💜💜💜
Your cakes are always so beautiful!! 🤩

The imperfections only make it more beautiful

Can u make a TTPD cake? (The tortured poets department)
OMG! That would be so fun!😊
It's so beautiful but if you add some colour in the pattern of the wings it would look gorgeous

A... "graduated" look? You mean gradient? Or gradual?
They're referring to it as a gradient but the graduated look is correct in terms of describing how it looks. The dark purple to the light purple is a look that graduates from the dark to the light. Although yes, gradient is the right way to describe it, a graduated look is correct too.
Butterflies 🦋 are my favorite!!
i think it would be pretty for the outlines to be similar colour to the colour of the cake (different shade of purple in this case?)
I love it. I had pink butterfly birthdays cake when I was 5 years old
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you for not hiding the imperfections! And it looks lovely!
For the jello - you need a longer pouring spout! It helps you have more control
I love butterflies and purple I'm hoping that I can pay someone to make me a cake as beautiful as that one! ❤
so pretty! never seen one before!
you have no idea much nostalgia this brought me!! i’ve spent the whole day thinking of when i’ve seen someone do a butterfly cake similar to this! it turns out it was a kids tv show called hi5 i had on dvd that i watched when i was probably 3 !! the brain is such a funny thing ! thanks for unlocking it 😊
I like the added frosting!

Your job is amazing, I LOVE to watch your videos 😊
This looks amazing! My daughter would love this! You made it look easy, almost as if even I could manage it😂

Lov how you don’t edit your mistakes!! Btw I lov your cake
This would’ve been so pretty with purple piping
Dang, that looks so pretty! The lavender and white was a good choice
I am literally a purple butterfly! I love it!!
So cute
Wow!!There is so many possibilities with this technique, we can use glitter in jello or maybe try isilibg the wing details before pouring jello for creative a 3d type effects ❤❤
Double layer the piped frosting will help on over filling.
It looks so much more real when you didn't get both wings exactly the same!❤❤❤ love this 😀 ❤❤❤
Do you ever use edible candy beads? The pearlized ones & a few lavender would be so nice!! Or any use of sugar glass 😍
Also, in nature, most butterfly wings aren't perfectly symmetrical, so even more beautiful.
That is gorgeous! I would love to eat that
You definitely do a beautiful job on the cakes that you do. Love them very much.
AAAHHHHHHHHHHH OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH BUTTERFLIES ARE THE BEST
I love your videos so much, the colours you use are so satisfyingly pretty and bright

Very pretty. Nice job. 🎉
I am not a cake decorator but when my oldest daughter turned 5, she asked for a rainbow butterfly cake. I did it but your cake looks so much better!
