I commented with another account, but I can't avoid to comment again. I knew Seung Yoon in a web drama (the one he did with Sandara Park) and I fell in love with his voice. It's so unique. I just knew he just got the opportunity to do a solo debut. I can not call myself his fan, but I was so happy to hear that. Please, support him a lot. I can tell he is so excited for this chance. Give him all the wins because he deserves. His voice is just out of this world. Fighting!
This isn’t his solo debut though..it’s his solo comeback after 8 years. He made his solo debut in 2013 and even did radio shows with 2NE1 at that time when they were promoting “FALLING IN LOVE”/“DO U LOVE ME”. This was also the time he was rehearsing with TEAM A (WINNER) for YG’s survival show WIN: WHO IS NEXT.. which also started shooting that summer of 2013. So he was juggling solo activities and preparing his solo album and debut. He released “IT RAINS” and it topped all 9 music charts at that time with no promotions and no MV. Then he released 2 more songs this time with MVs which were “Wild and Young” and “Stealer”. He was also set to release a full album too, but WIN was also important to him too. He also became leader half way through the show and so he decided to give up his solo album/solo activities, so he can focus on the group and WIN. Which was good cuz Team A became WINNER and as leader and main composer he had to put all his focus on WINNER. So I think the timing was right and he had more time to really put together a masterpiece of an album. He also is a different artist than he was back then too.. he’s become so versatile and open to different genres of music. He’s improved and gotten so much better vocally and musically from back then too. 👍
“You’ve grown up well, Kang Seungyoon” This performance feels like the tribute for when he first auditioned to Superstar K2 in 2010 that even Mnet called his performance as Legendary.
