Lynette was a baby making factory for real. She was a hard worker Tom could've been a better father though. I hated how her whole family treated her. This is a powerful scene. I wondered would've Patrick condition brought Lynette and Tom together.
I liked Tom, on the whole, however, I did think he behaved like a resentful spoiled brat at times. In this scene we see a totally different Tom. It is a shame this version did not materialise.
I LOVE this scene. It goes to the most basic principle of motherhood: it's not about you. It's not about making you feel good about yourself, or your child not being what you pictured. It's about sacrifice. When you choose to be a mother, you choose to lay everything down that you can possibly imagine to do what is right and best for your baby. Because if your choose yourself, and not give it 100%, and your child's future is compromised, you don't have the right to call yourself a mother.
And this is exactly why I get annoyed when people decide to have children yet have the worry that what if I don't like my child? Like what?! Being a mom or a parent is not about liking your child it's about doing the best you can for your child so that they can be a well-functioning adult. My point is I agree
My daughter is autistic, she's 3,5yo and still can't speak. It frustrated me so much whenever she cried and I couldn't understand her. She went to therapy since she was 18months. But it only made her more cry and tantrum and hate toys (before this she love playing in playground and playing kids toys. But somehow therapy made her really hate them). And we stopped the therapy when pandemic started. Now we changed therapist. Hope more progress with this. As a mom, I just want her to be independent. I don't care if she couldn't be like other 'standard' kid.

Her tone when she said "I can do this" made me cry. It's a combination of fear and determination.
You know it’s lynnette’s fantasy when Tom is the voice of reason
i was literally thinking wow hes spot on then i see this hahaha
Amen, especially, when she actually realises that during pregnancy that she doesn't love the child.. which upsets her so much.

I hope she became more brave strong and smart kid ❤️
This used to be my favorite episode because I found it so touching. Then my firstborn suffered a birth injury. Then it became my reality.
Tom was such a terrible father and husband
Why did they pick an Asian child wtf?
I mean is it supposed to be a child with Down's? So offensive.
you obviously did not watch the episode, im guessing thats the baby actor they could arrange to appear. The child does not have down's syndrome.
