Great history! Thanks
Gorgeous pots!
I love these pot, I use them for most of my cooking
Cooking my Christmas dinner pot roast in my mothers vintage (50's) 8 qt pot. What a fabulous piece of cookware.
I use mine whenever possible
Beautiful. Functional. Bulletproof.
Love the history breakdown. Sent me a mission to look up mine. Love cooking in mine.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching
What types of things do you cook in it?
@@raindancer3330 everything from Soups to roast. It a very versatile cookware. I tend to use it more for items that i need to cook in the over.
I have my mothers Magnalite roaster, which I know is at least 50 to 60 yrs old, possibly more.
It measures roughly
11 1/2 x 17. Has cover & rack insert. It's in excellent condition. My mother was a perfectionist about everything!
The stamping on the bottom is WAGNER WARE SIDNEY -0- & at the lower portion of the bottom
MAGNALITE 4269.
I appreciate any information you may be able to give me on this piece. Also, if you have any idea of the value.
Thank you.
I'm so glad I ran across your channel.
From the information you provided you can easily get over 300$ for it, from looking on eBay some go for over 500$. From what information you gave it sounds like you have the full set (Pot, lid and tray). Magnalite refers to this pot as its Turkey Roaster. Hope the information was helpful.
Finally found the right info about these pots many country cooks use these and when asked they won't respond
Excellent video ❤
I have a couple original from my grandmother, the one's branded by Wagner Magnalite over 50 yrs old, and from my mother the GHC Magnalite.
Great video.. I have a few of those roasters… great pots
The best!
Could you tell me how to clean the pots, I found one at a thrift store! I am just thrilled!
Depending on how much it needs to be cleaned you can use SOS pad. If it’s really bad and u have a self cleaning oven you can place in the oven and the put the over on clean and it will burn it off, this also works great for clean cast iron cookware. I use this method every few yrs on my cast iron and magnalite
@@FatBoiCookingChannel Thank you so much!!
My sister has always cleaned hers with Bar Keepers Friend
I have a 9 inch/23 cm Magnalite GHC USA made skillet with an all aluminum handle.
Could you show your parents set? I’m going to buy my first one and wondering which would be best for my first purchase. Which is older? Just the magnalite or SidneyO? Thank you! Love your videos!!
My parents have the same set that I do but is just a bit older.
I wish I could find myself a set of this cookware
you can find them on Amazon, Ebay and I believe that Walmart has them also. You can google Magnalite to find buying options
I just inherited my mother in-law's. It has the metal insert. I guess I will try it out this weekend. What do you recommend I use to clean it?
Depending on what I have cooked in mine, I will use either a sponge scrub w/ some soap or an SOS pad.
I quit using mine probably 10 years ago. Worried about aluminum leaking into food. They are all pitted inside. If they got too dark inside from cooking, tomato sauce/paste helped brighten it up. Guess that's where the pitting came from
Bar keepers friend
how hot can you roast in the oven using these roasters. i have the small vintage one from goodwill. i have an imusa 18 inch recent purchase which i got for making a turkey or large roast that doesn't fit in the small one. i have not went over 350 although i have been tempted to. i do not want to damage them. thanks for the video
I have cooked up to 550 with mine and the pot is fine
@@FatBoiCookingChannel thanks for the response todd. ;)
Magnalite Links???
How old is the Wagner Ware Sidney Magnalite Roasterette?
from checking online i found that it was made between 1934-1999. What makes it even harder is that there is no date that is stamped on the pots. Sorry I wasnt able to get any closer then that
@@FatBoiCookingChannel I'm glad all of my preowned Mags predate the 90's. As family members had them well before then. I've only purchased 1 via eBay since my sisters not ready to part with hers yet, lol.
I just got that one 1 week ago. I know it was made by both Wagner O and GHC. The Wagner branded would be the oldest, and has the 4263 stamped on it. GHC doesn't have the number but it's quality is the same.
How do you clean magnalite that has food burned in it
I use and sos pad after letting it soak in vey hot water for an hour or so
Where can I find one
They can be found online at Amazon and Ebay.
I have a Wagner ware Sidney O Magnalite
I love my Magnalite, I hardly use anything else
I'm Michele, how is everything here ? I have been gone and I had gotten word that things were bad?
Everything is good
Is that a 18”?
the large pot is an 18 inch.
What is the numbers to 13 inch and 18 inch?
Is the small one 13” ?
The small one is 13 inches
