This was my dads favorite. I played it for him again right before he passed and had tears in his eyes.

this song can be a recap of the essence of the popular italian traditional music. The vibes of this kind of music is the same: mediterranean vibes, Naples accent, nostalgic themes, and of course, love. Italian music is so different from usa music for this: music in italy is considered a real pain reliever. This is the purpose of music in Italy, an aspirin for the broken souls. I think this is the essence of music in italy. Cheers from Milano, Italia.

According to the author Gragnaniello, Murolo was the calm sea and Mia the storm, so I'm glad you noticed.

Roberto Murolo is the history of neapolitan music heritage. A sort of Pope. He made history. Neapolitan music has been one of the most exported music in the world in the second part of the 20th century. Plenty of classics sung by Elvis presley, Perry como, dean martin, Peggy lee, Johnny Mathis were actually neapolitan songs. Most american (and worldwide) singers of that era had neapolitan songs in their repertories.

This song is in very deep neapolitan dialect, i am from rome and i can barely understand what he says.
We call them "dialects" but they are in fact different languages, it's easier for me to understand spanish than neapolitan (and my dad is from naples lol).
    For example:
Scinne cummè = scendi con me = come down with me
And this is one of the most understandable part.
Neapolitan music is very influenced from arabic music (both the language and the melody).

So sad. Roberto Murolo was at the end of his natural life and Mia Martini passed away shortly afterwords, so prematurely and tragically. This must be one if their last exhibitions ever. The song is from the early 90
