Really nicely presented video. I loved Faolan's speech bubbles. So important to do research before getting any bird, so it's good you highlight just how much is needed in a concise manner.
Great video as always! Thank you for featuring our boys! ❤🦜 Totally agree with you on the wing clipping side of things. It seems to be a really touchy subject in the community but birds were born to fly, even if it's indoors! Unless there is a medical need to do it, leave them be! When we let the boys out for the first time as babies, they crash landed and grazed their beaks - it happens! We just made sure we had birdy first aid supplies on hand. Practice makes perfect!
Thank you so much! It’s totally okay! They are the cutest duo I know, perfect for the beginning of the video to highlight just how adorable these little birds are! Yeah, it really is. I totally agree with you! I hope not clipping becomes a lot more common. It seems to be happening slowly ☺️
I have 2 right now but I'm going to adopted a Hans macaw because the birds I have are the species and so is a Hans macaw your so amazing I realized the cage I was going to get for mine was to small so I'm getting a bigger macaw cage.
Great video! I would like to add that even if you already own a bird it's really important to keep up your research and keep learning new things. Every bird owner will make mistakes at some point, which is okay if you learn from them:) If you are willing to do all the things listed in the video every single day you will get a wonderful friendship with your bird in return
That’s very true and I wish I discussed that! I’ve made SO many mistakes myself. I used to feed a pellet with sugar and dyes, didn’t offer enough sleep, etc. Everyone learns from their mistakes. Research takes you so far ❤️
@@SoaringWingsFlock Definitely! I recently found out that the pellets I'm feeding them are also high in sugars. Im currently looking into more suitable ones but they are really hard to find sadly:(

Anyway, your guys look really happy and healthy, keep up the amazing work!

My gf and I are planning on getting a bird (a cockatiel) in the next few years (after covid settles and we can get a place together). One thing I've not seen much of is potty training, so I was curious whether it was possible to train a parrot to go potty in a particular area? I understand its their nature to let it drop but is there a way to encourage them to make in a specific corner of their room? 😂 I'm assuming with all the cleaning up their destruction that it wont matter where they poop but I'm still curious about the limits to which a bird can be trained
TIPS FOR FUTURE BREEDERS! I have two parrots (cockatiels. one white yellow and the other gray-yellow) it's sometimes hard work, but when you find the time you will love them as childe. I also definitely recommend buying a man-fed young cockatiel (as a young one she will love you as child love his parrent .) And I don't even recommend buying two birds, when there are two from the beginning it is possible that they will have a bigger relationship with each other than with you. Next, buy everything important or find out before you buy a parrot. So I recommend studying parrots carefully a month before buying. Im from diffrent country so i wrote this text on google translation. Good luck with your parrots
My family members weren’t ok with keeping doors shut so a good way of making sure your bird won’t fly out of its room and if your going in and out a lot is a certain, I recently got a clear fabric certain that goes above my door, my cockatiel can fly out and my family members are fine with it
The cost of Indi: $25 His cage: $210 His toys (I've had him for 18 months): Around $200 (I also make DIY toys and give him foliage to chew) His food: Around $10 a month Other things (food dishes, perches, feeders, etc): $100 (In AUD)
Ris you’ll find that you’ll need to give 1/8 of an almond as a treat anyone (during training) so as long as you cut them small you can use any nut! Pinenuts are great too! All of our birds LOVE them 😂
"cuddling with them.." Me: uhh.. if I try to cuddle with my cockatiel, she just climbs right on my shoulder and has the BIGGEST attitude when I try to take her off when I have to do something and she doesn't want to move.. she will literally go out of her way to be on someone's shoulder including climbing up them (she can't fly properly bc her wings were clipped when we got her from the shelter).. is this normal? Lol
Find a breeder that doesn’t clip and that allows the bird to properly wean ☺️ some breeders rush wean so the bird doesn’t know how to properly eat when you get them
I hate wing clipping it's also very bad for the birds mental health, alot of people wing clip so they can go out of the house without them flying away Why clip the birds feathers and make them feel sad while you can train them not to fly away from you or to come back to you
Owning a parrot is like constantly chasing a Toddler running with Scissors that never grows up. Oh yea.....and they can fly.
u copied this comment Ive seen this else where, get a life boomer

We have 20 bird I think and there not a nightmare it’s really easy
I really want a cockateil … any tips?
Yes! Watch BirdTricks they train parrots and are really (infinity great) people
Where have you bought the java tree behind you in the video? And do you have som good websites? I know Northern parrots but any more?
Peter Giske we got it from Northern Parrots ☺️
My favourite website for bird toys is planet pleasures, they are natural, fun and cheap, and I’m pretty sure they are handmade
uhh early
What can you do if you go on vacation
You’ll need to find a bird sitter you trust or see if a friend or a family member can offer your bird proper care and time out ☺️
