Tpj and the other nsw forwards were destined to fail when freddy announced his game plan was to bash qld early. Slater just put tino and cotter to start at the last minute who are mobile and super strong defensively and they completely neutralised the nsw forwards.
Telling Gus , who as a Blues coach I still rate as our best there was . That he needs this and he needs that . Come on Freddy , even at his age , Gus could get the same teams up for SOO . The difference is he is a very good RL coach , also he gets the best out of his players . Probably get abused for this comment , but Gus was a GREAT Blues coach .
I've lived in both NSW and Queensland and the supporters in Queensland are so dedicated. It could be the middle of summer, 40 degrees and you could start a discussion about who the next SOO halves pairing should be and in Queensland they'd debate it for an age while in NSW they'd look at you as if you were insane...it's 40 degrees...
Most of the qld cup teams are feeder clubs for non qld teams. Its only been since kevie came to the broncs that it has changed. When siebold had the broncs, they didn't even have a qld cup team to feed from.
As a player Freddy > Slater. Fittler was someone who could play in just about every position impressively, so why he lacks verbal intelligence and perspective off the field is a mystery.

Luai and Paulo played for Samoa even though they could of played for Australia. Good on them for choosing the team of their motherland but when it comes to origin, you need players who have a passion to play for Australia. The way I've seen players who play for other nations play origin, apart from Hammer who has since gone back to Australia, they have had shocking Origin performances. If you don't pledge allegiance for Australia, you don't play origin. It's simple

Always will be a legend. But his selections and bench rotation were what cost him in the end. He just seemed very impulsive and didn't seem to really have a grasp of the situation.

Freddy has realised that qld players support there team and dont condemn them when they lose. No offense to nswelshman but they dont treat the game the way we do. Even the nsw players are very individual in their approach. Its about individual brilliance. A bunch of cocky, egotistical players. Qld team appear grounded and work together as one.
There’s no Aussies down here either. Everyone says they are from wherever their parents of from. No pride in where you come from hurts origin. The plan to dilute it with foreigners will absolutely kill it.
