Holger has always reminded me a bit of a mad scientist. He apparently has a very good sense of humor. Of course their sales of albums are probably better now than they were in the 1970's. Amazing was being on of the most influential bands of their era did for them.
You're right on all counts. I have never been able to get hold of Rite Time though, but I'm well aware of Can's earlier stuff. I wonder if the album is shit or is it just that rock critics think it is. I love Holger's solo work from around the same time and that is generally panned by those "in the know." The wankers.
I believe it's a song from Can's 1988 reunion album 'Rite Time' but not sure the name. Not their best record by any means...I recommend (as highly as I can) getting Ege Bamyasi, Tago Mago or Monster Movie to start with.
Hi this is Lucky again. Sometimes we remember that music is of individual taste and that even a shitcan can be named a genius, depend of who is talking. True genius at that time? Here is just one: Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and still serves in the view of experimental composing and performance up today.
