I agree with aoifewest , i am watching these lectures as revision for a resit exam, mainly due to the fact that i couldnt understand what my lecturer was going on about, because they all rushed through the topics, and when we had questions in class, there was no time to properly think about the question when just freshly learning, as well as there was no explanation of why the answer was the answer. These are BRILLANT lectures!
you seem not to understand , listening to a fast lecture is not learning. here they listen, think, exercise and when they leave the class they have really learned/memorized something. At my Uni lecturers are good researchers, publishing lot but they speed up lectures and circa 70% failed the exam. They will have to do easier repeat exams to let them pass...
I always thought MIT classes would be a bit more challenging. Even for a freshman course the pace in this is extremely slow. But that's the problem of traditional lectures: There are always people, who will be bored and others that can't keep up. But in this one, I assume most were terribly bored.
These lectures are perfect! They also go really well with the 2x speed option.
