Doesnt this scene pretty much confirm that Bill is the father? I mean the great aunt thing plus this kinda confirms it for me. They didn’t leave big clues like this for the other 2 dads
Just had my closing night of mama Mia at my highschool (with me as Bill) and this was easily one of the strongest scenes. It's a perfect capstone to act 1 (especially since Bills TOTALLY the father)
"Another reason why I lean towards saying Bill is the father is that it makes the most narrative sense. When all three men return to the island, they are leaving behind lives that don’t completely satisfy them. For Harry, he is a gay punk stuck in a picture perfect upper class lifestyle. Coming to the island helps him feel some joy, and some connection to Donna and Sophie. For Sam, he’s still heartbroken over the fact that he left Donna behind. He’s divorced with two grown kids, and disillusioned from his life. He’s back on the island to win back Donna and take back happiness. And Bill? He’s living an itinerant lifestyle traveling the globe. He doesn’t have a connection to anything, nor has he really matured. Being Sophie’s biological father would force him to confront his own adulthood." Also Bill is the one with the boat, which is needed to go to the island where she is, "coincidences" from the universe?... "So if each father figure is there to play a role to play in Sophie and Donna’s lives, Harry is the nurturer, Sam is Donna’s parter, and Bill…is the sperm donor." Although there are other arguments for Harry(color of eyes of parents, more probability) and Sam(artistic characteristics passed to child that Donna doesn't have). I believe is Bill for this scene and the boat and family history.
Don't get me wrong I think the song is beautiful but I'm kinda glad they cut it cause it's kinda giving even Bill more spotlight than the others in relation to the "father" thing and kinda ruins the final message that way, but this might just be me
It really just makes sense to me that he is her dad 👁👄👁 like it always seemed right, but I realllyyyy liek the idea of all 3 having a chance of being her dad cuz they all really care in that way
I honestly hate how they got rid of some of the songs from the musical into the movie like this, TY for the Music, and under attack. This is why I have trust issues with movie musicals, they always change stuff that will either be good or bad.
that is exactly why the musical is so much better than the movie... the musical has an introspective side that was more or less completely deleted from the film. The film is fun, but overly funny... almost hectique... I missed this szene, Knowing Me Knowing You, Under Attack, Thank You For The Music all those szenes who brought variety and depth into the musical... what a pity... that's why i almost love Here We Go Again better... though again I Wonder was deleted..
Nahhh I’m gutted this was removed, I kind of understand because the story doesn’t evolve much , but her voice and the instrumentals on the sound track are unreal! My favourite song truly ‼️💗
Amanda Siegfried she has amazing voice ever and best actress because she is very talented and I seen her movies she's incredible voice perfectly wow awesome grestset elxent
It’s really upsetting that they didn’t include this scene, Amanda Seyfried and her character felt underutilised in the first movie especially when it came to songs.
I think they probably deleted it because it sounds like it was recorded in a sound booth which yeah it was but that scene does so thats probably why where as every other song sounds so different in comparison to this one
I hate that they deleted this scene especially since they left it in the album.
And it’s in the musical. It’s a pretty integral scene before Voulez Vous. Wish they’d left it in!
A movie can only be so long but they did add it in the sequel
Especially since they didn't put chiquitita on the album
É uma das minhas músicas favoritas e não tá no filme 😢
I think I like her voice and the context of this better than when Lily James did it in the sequel. I wish they kept it.

Probably why they chose to cut this bit out. To have ambiguity over who the real father is because that is the whole plot line

I think this is why they didn’t put it to the film. They want us to think the father isn’t him
The sunshine personality and Sophie's physical appearance have in common with Bill.

They should’ve left this in
Yeah the scene feels so well... cut without the song
A movie can only be so long
@@oliverpony lol those what 2 mins and 40 seconds… you’re kidding me right that kind of thinking sucks

É pq o Bill é o pai dela por isso a cena. Mas como eles queriam q o mistério continuasse eles retiraram a cena.
Amanda Seyfried playing Sophie it's just the best thing ever💖
i know right did u see the second movie
Bill is Sophie's father, im sure!!😍
He’s not
@@louismoonlight6491 He is, not is the best father, the best is Sam, but he is the real father of Sophie
@@louismoonlight6491 Why not?
I think he is the father too, and the director said soo...
@@louismoonlight6491 he actually is her real dad lmao

I have a vivid memory of watching this scene in the movie...
There's an extended version of the movie and this scene is in it
@@Puthonitisdo you know where to find the extended version?
@@CesarFlores-mc7uy idk, maybe try Google.
The person who posted this video is a huge ABBA fan

to be fair, they added When All is Said and Done, which wasn’t in the live musical
@@AlexeBriand2002 I’d rather have either this or Under Attack over THAT song 😂
Some songs in musicals have to be removed in film adaptations for pacing's sake.
They should have used this song as a hidden bonus song on the CD instead of _Thank You for the Music._
they should’ve included Chiquitita instead

The movie removing the Under Attack scene is a huge crime
Bill has always been Sophie’s dad to me 🤷🏻♀️

Bill the real father got a full song 🤭😌
This isn't deleted??
Edit: im watching the movie again and realised its deleted lol. Weird that they left it in the sound track though
Bill is running N everybody chasing him
i do not like this at all, especially considering in the next movie, its used as a love song that donna is singing about sam
i love this song , i wonder who was her father
I agree Sophie have same hair color and eye color like bill
She could have gotten those traits from her mother.
She was shown to have traits from all three men.
Lembro de assistir essa no dvd😂 que saudades desse tempo
