The main hurdle for this one was that I was teaching myself After Affects, so editing took way longer than it should've been for this first attempt. I figured I would take this opportunity with this shorter video to learn the software, but since a lot of time was spent learning and re-learning how to do things, it took me much longer than it usually would. Despite my complicated relationship with turn-based rpgs, this was one of the handful that I've actually completed and I have no idea why. I play rpgs for combat, but the combat in Earthbound isn't that groundbreakingly amazing aside from the ingenious rolling health system. I guess the charm and aesthetics hooked me.
I think a game that kinda reminds me of a modern earthbound is trails of zero, coming out officially in English in 3 days. I'd suggest giving it a try lol

Everytime I try to play Earthbound, I get just a little further than I did the last time I played, mostly because the beginning of the game kicks your ass if you don't grind. I can never stay invested enough in it. My last attempt ended before I got the second sound, and the only reason I lasted that long was for a joke because my friend hates the game. Maybe that was in the spirit of the game
