I don't usually subscribe to these types of channel (not a big animal lover) but I find Colt's videos very interesting. It is indeed, refreshing to see the world in the eyes of a child. Yes, I am subscribed, looking forward to more videos from Colt.
I am grown up but never did imagine in my life to catch a TUKO and salute to you Colt for having the courage to catch this Gecko..Just hearing their sounds during night time it makes me shiver already...hahaha..
Hey Colt, great video, wont be long before you have as many followers as Mum and Dad - Here is a Gecko fact you may or may not know --- Tail Autotomy and Regeneration: Geckos have a defence mechanism known as autotomy, where they can voluntarily detach their tails when threatened by a predator. The detached tail continues to wiggle, which can distract the predator and allow the gecko to escape. Remarkably, geckos can regenerate their lost tails, although the new tail often differs in color and texture from the original.
Colt, you're an amazing individual 👍 I don't know how old you are but, I can tell that you are far advanced 🧠 I admire your intelligence and personality 🙌 I've learned a lot about toku geckos 🦎 They're actually cute creatures 🤣 Keep up the great work !!
Hey buddy, lemme share my experience with geckos! When I was about nine or ten, my grandmother took a job working with coastal resource management in Palawan. She rented a ranch on what was then the outskirts of Puerto Princesa. I, along with the next four cousins (in age), would stay there for a couple of Christmases and summers. During those nights, we would hear the sound of the ranch's resident tukô as it went, as Filipinos say, "tuk-o, tuk-o". While it fascinated us at first, we eventually got used to hearing it at least once every night we were there. But have we ever seen the thing? Oh, yes we have! This gecko was huge in my child's eyes! My cousins and I would often see him (or her, I don't know the difference lol) by the rafters on the ranch's loft. Imagine watching TV at night while the tukô just hangs around the walls, observing you with its gecko eyes. I swear you could even be on the computer at night and look up the rafters to be greeted with the gaze of your reptilian housemate. Eventually, my grandmother had to give up the ranch for a house that's closer to civilization Even when I studyied 5th grade there, my aunt, cousin, grandma, and I found ourselves sharing the house with (you guessed it!) another tukô. But this one was a little more wary, so while we never saw it, we could definitely hear it. To this day, only a few people in my family have ever heard the mating call of a tokay gecko. My brothers and the younger cousins have no idea how it sounds like, let alone how big it is. Watching your passion for learning about them not only brings back memories of my time in Palawan, but of happier times with my family. I believe that talents should be supported, and I will definitely be one of your supporters.
Hi Colton & to your Sister. Nice to see you watching & enjoying traveling to Philippines. Growing up in the Province specifically in Summer, sometimes thiers a lot of Dragonfly too , we called it Tutubi in Tagalog. But I don’t know now a day if we still have a lot of dragon fly in the rice field.
Got bit by one of them before, every time I tried to pull my finger out it pulled more in... had to lightly squeeze the sides of the jaw and gently pull the finger out. Careful with the big ones... sounds like you know how hard they can bite... and your still catching them... Brave lizard hunter !!
You remind me of my son when he was at your age, back in my beloved country Philippines 🇵🇭.He loved to catch tuko, there’s a lot of them in every corner of our house & even in the bedrooms😊
You're amazing! A young kid who never give-up and full of positivity. Good job Colt for not failing us to see different sizes and colors of tokay gecko🥰
Growing up in the Philippines, I am one of those kids even now that I’m an adult who get so scared whenever I see TUKO and frogs lol. I don’t know why? And I find it so amazing watching Colt catching them. Just love how an amazing kid he is when it comes to these types of animals.
This video was so well done and incredibly informative and enjoyable… I hope to see more episodes and learn more about wildlife (particularly lizards!) in the Philippines. I am learning something new in every video!
Great video, Colt. Catching all types of lizards etc was a passion of mine too when I was a lot younger. Stay safe when chasing them. Your safety is more important than everything else. Enjoy, young man.
Now im learning so much about Geckos from this channel. Keep 'em coming. Great work, padayon (meaning- continue or go on in Cebuano) Greetings from Cebu❤
I learn so much from your videos! We use to have big Tukos beside my bed when we were missionaries in Ilocos Norte! It was so loud! And one time it was in the bathroom. It was like a foot long! 🤯 It was crazy!
Awesome, young man! Keep it up! Id like to see that you have your own. Why not catch one, instead of buying? The department of natural resources wont mind unless you take them out of the country or sell them. You can teach us how to take care of them. ❤❤❤
Oh please, Please, Please Colt!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Tell your dad to contact Nickelodeon or The Disney Channel immediately!!! Sweetheart, you need your own show on a bigger platform. You belong on TV!!! Everybody can see that. It’s so obvious!!! Continue to make these videos and create an incredible resume. Next thing you know, you’ll be one of those working kids making millions of dollars. And you can buy me a brand new car when you become a millionaire, Yaaaaaayyyy!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 jk about the car. lol Anyway, looking forward to the next video. See you soon!!!
Did you know that we used to ( until now) predict the next day weather by counting the number of times the Tuko sound makes? You start with.tuko .(sun) , tuko (rain) , tuko (sun ), tuko (rain ), when it stops that will be the weather the next day. Quite accurate sometimes 😊
Wow, goodjob Colt, what an amazing boy👏i remember when i was young, when we (with my other siblings)don't sleep early our eldest brother will say if you guys won't sleep tuco will bite you😂😅then all of us will cover blankets immediately 😂
When my mom and I went to Coco Beach in Puerta Galera she told me that a Tuko could tell you if it’s going to rain or not. She was listening to a tuko and counting how many times it says “tuko.” If I remember correctly it stopped at 7. She said it’s going to rain so we weren’t going to participate in the beach dinner (kind of like a luau) because it was going to rain. I was super bummed. So we stayed in the covered restaurant. 😊While we were having dinner it started pouring down rain and people were screaming to get out of the rain. She was right and so was the Tuko.
i dont know if colt is interested with spiders but there are a lot of orb weaver spider in the philippines. Filipinos are actually into spider fighting
We have like 3-5 in our house and they are HUGE. I swear they're like twice as big as the last tuko you caught and their pattern is the same with that one but their color is like a few shades lighter. I am afraid of them haha
So smart. 😍 I thought Colt is into monkeys base on the 1st Philippine vlog I saw of you guys. 😅 But apparently he's more into reptiles. Love this, as I watch Snake Discovery as well. 😊
My close encounter with Tuko scared me a little. He was under the bamboo bed I was sleeping on. It made a loud thumping sound and the tuko mating call. Never saw it but I felt it was so huge because of the loud noise it made! In my mind it’s 3 ft long but most likely it really wasn’t . 😮
Some says in the province tuko are somewhat related to there clock every tuko sound corresponds to the hour if its 7pm then you could hear 7 tuko sounds
