- Sierra On-Line made this back in 1983... and it sucks. Yet this won Best Educational Game?!

Looking forward to your new mixtape
same.
Yea it's a really good club anthem :D
I want that song played at both my wedding and my funeral.
Full usage permissions granted.
+Lazy Game Reviews You should make it a downloadable mp3. Or make a 10 hour Video version :)
+Roadgeek Looks like we found the anthem for 2016.
+EveryThingOld Too much download lol
+Roadgeek Same thing... I keed!! ..Wheres my wife? She's behind me right??
You might expect more from Sierra, but you seem to have forgotten that this is Seirra.
There's a difference, y'know.
Seirra is my favorite company. I love Sapce Quest!
It's a simple typo.
Lazee Gamer is about to drop the hottest mixtape of 2016.
"It's one of the most -juvenile games- kick-fucking-awesome albums I've ever seen!" -James Rolfe
"I'm gonna make those alien bastards listen to this beat on fire." -Duke Nukem
" *Bruh, check my Google Drive.* " -LGR
Holy shit, that copy protection card. That's what it looks like on my defrag screen.

Time for SSD
Not enough games allow you to count dogs these days. Damn those corporations!
+Jimboola I blame dogsanto!
I blame Dogtanian!
Awww, you missed a great chance to type "damn those dog-gone corporations!"
Oh my gosh! You have McGee! I used to have that when I was younger, floppy disk version for our family's old black and white Mac. I've been trying to find evidence of its existence for a year now, but I've so far come up with nothing on the Internet. I was beginning to think I'd just imagined a large portion of my childhood, but oh my gosh, you have it!
Really neat little game, and quite the rarity :)
did you make that beat? Its sick
Yep!
Very cool!!
Anything is sick nowadays.
+Lazy Game Reviews Please release it, I want to hear more of it.
+Lazy Game Reviews is there any way i can get that beat somehow.
It almost feels like more effort was put into the box art than the actual game.
almost?
+Blissful Sparrow Coding it still takes more time than making the box art.
Especially in 83.
battlecraftcrafter Fair enough.
It's so satisfying to see somebody use the phrase "All but forgotten" properly! It seems like everybody uses it as a substitute for "Forgotten" nowadays...
2:19
>white on black background
>dogs
>vertical bones
Lazy Game Remixes when?
+tristikov yes please
I think AVGN mentioned the Colecovision one.
I need an extended version of the Leapfrog Club Anthem in my life. Make it happen pls
Your videos are awesome man. I can't find any channel that's even close to your level of entertainment. I love your videos!
OMG I love these looks back to games .... thanks!
...How is this even educational? How do kids learn letters by picking a matching letter with no words of even pronunciations? How is a maze (If you can even call it that) or a coloring book educational? The only slightly educational thing here seems to be the dog game, I guess, but yeah, I can't believe this won an award.
Leeper looks like a creature taken straight out of the Monster Rancher games.
Holy shit, them's some good tunes. I want an album of that.
3:14 GLORIOUS
5:04 My new ringtone. Brilliant!
That multicoloured code sheet was used by most software projects games (jetset willy etc). It didnt stop creative schoolkids with time on their hands just drawing a grid then using letters/numbers instead of colours though. A quick trip to the school photocopier and all that hard work would pay off, flogging the copied codesheet along with a c15 cassette of the game for a quid to anyone who wanted one, ahhh happy days lol.
I didnt realise that software projects ported sierra games to the speccy, interesting.
That beat tho!!! 🙇🏻
"Learning with Leeper, It's one of the most juvenile games I've ever played." - "Angry Video Game Nerd" James Rolfe
love the club anthem Clint
wow 1988 primary school memories just shot in my head
Was totally not expecting that DX:HR reference from you.
Had this on my Tandy 1000 but I learned to read on the gritty streets of Lytton and Lost Wages.
3:14 - DAT FACE THO! x D just needs to go with text saying " YOU ARE A WINNER "
"next is Dog Count, in which you count dogs"
Fucking riveting.
Leeper kind of looks like that one monster form "Monster Rancher".
I recently started letting my 3yo daughter play this on Colecovision. She loves it.
You expect more from Sierra? Well, see? That's your mistake. This game was made by _Seirra_.
Actually it's software projects who as it happens also released jet set willy amongst other titles
@@AndySmallbone there's always one
omfg, i didnt knew i played that game until i saw this video! man this takes me back~!
In the museum of london in england they currently have or had an exhibition of old computer games with london in the theme. They had 3 zx spectrum games although they were 2 text adventures and 1 with extremely bad graphics, but it was still fun to see
They LOVED their "Paint fill" programs in edutainment programs in the 80's. It seems like almost every edutainment title in the 80's had one of those "Paint fill" mini-games in them back then. The 90's ushered in their love of sliding puzzles. Or games where you just grabbed puzzle pieces and put pictures together.
+BlackburnBigdragon
When looking at this, It's stunning at what incredible speed the human IQ has obviously increased since the 80ies.
Not really. It's more proof that companies have been producing cheap and eploitive crap marketed to kids for a LONG time and this trend continues even today. The trope of "For kids" often means for some people "Oh, we can half fast it because they're just kids." Look at all the cheap junk and half-fast produced media that gets produced aimed at kids when they clearly deserve better.
BlackburnBigdragon
ROFL ... that argument is convincing .. you just made my day :-) thx
It's a self perpetuating mill of crap that preys on the desperation of parents for "Me time".

Wouldn't cable binders do for less ?
Its already friday and we get a new LGR episode, Double Awesome!
That frog tune remix is fire. Now available for $9,99 on Itunes.
Do you plan on reviewing Street Rod 2? I played the hell out that game on my old Packard Bell computer as a kid lol
Leeper Club Anthem, #1 on iTunes, Spotify and all that other nonsense within one week, I guarantee it. 8D
We had a tandy 1000 in the house growing up. I spent more time than i can phathom learning with leeper. Though seem to remember that version having more stuff to do.
That remix is going to be the song of the year man. When can we expect the fire mixtape?
Haven't seen this kind of "oh fuck, kill it with fire!" cover in a long time.
I just looked at the thumbnail with the boxart and said "Jesus that's terrifying". Only to be disappointed that this was not some acid fueled lovecraftian eldritch nightmare learning game.
My earliest memories are of playing Learning With Leeper on C64. As a very young child, it was perfect. It made me sad to grow up and see it getting trashed on the internet. I think its problem is that its target demographic is basically people who aren't even old enough to play video games.
I take this Video as Birthday Present, thank you Clint :D
That frog bop mix is actually pretty good. Or maybe I'm just easily impressed by chips and beats.
I am overjoyed that the MP3 was still up. #gotmeanewjam
I thought it was suezo from monster rancher
Imagine all this fun on a monochrome green Tandy 1000 system. No wonder why I grew up to be so smart
It was awesome! i will play this tune in my car very loud! let evereone hear DJ. LGR!
3:55 - This is, for some reason, absolutely amazing.
Please make this a full song.
Check the video description to download a more complete one

**Leans closer to screen.**
=D I think I may be legally blind, as I read those links three times without reacting to their existence at all. =D
Dude, I was eating when that 3:14 popped up, now my shirts messy!
Just checked which games came out in 1982/1983 on the C64 and that put the "quality" of that game into perspective. Fort Apocalypse was 1982...
Wow, you covered it. The first PC game I ever played. I remember Leeper having more frames of animation, but maybe that's just the Tandy 1000 version.
That next club anthem, I'd totally party to that beat!
Didn't know Suezo from Monster Rancher had a grandpa!
I will now only call balloons "grossly engorged sperm"
Now I expect a mix of a sound from the next edutainment videos. Gotta make a full album lol.
You should totally release that beat! Even if it's short and simple, it's super catchy.
Check the video description
Cool! Developed by Software Projects ... who also did Jet Set Willy.
Yay! Thanks for doing a speccy review :)
I've never heard the words grossly, engorged and sperm together in one sentence before, it made me smile thank you my good man.
I will blast that song all day today and maybe tomorrow
Paused at 3:14, almost laughed myself to Death....Your Awesome Clint.....
"I expect more from Sierra." Ah, but LGR, we already established that this wasn't made by Sierra, it was made by Seirra.
First I heard about this game was from AVGN’s episode about the Colecovision.
That actually sounded like a real song tbh
That creature on the box creeps me out.
Leeper looks like something out of my childhood nightmares.
That Deus Ex reference just about killed me
"It's one of the most juvenile games I've ever played" - James Rolfe, and he was right.
3:14 - Hello new wallpaper!
"Here we have learning with Leeper, it's the most juvenile game I've ever seen"
Well Leeper, looks like your a winner by default.
I can't find anything on designer Nancy Anderton, did she make any more forgotten award winning embarrassments with Sierra?
I remember the AVGN talking about this game. I think it was the Colecovision version.
Another quality Seirra product.
At least it had color. In 1984 educational software at my school was just green monochrome.
Listening to the "Leeper CLub Anthem" while I work.
I need a 10-hours version ASAP!
Btw, anyone knows how games on cassette tapes work?
+medusesti Well, I think casette tape isn't that much different from your regular hard drive. It has moving parts, there's some magnetism going on and if you drop it on the floor you're boned.
Wow, that one frame at 3:14 scared me :D
that music... really make a mix tape :)
3:14 -that's how I look when my salary finally arrives :] ..
five minutes into netflix and chill and he gives you this look
Holy cow, this is my first computer game memory, but on a monochrome 286!
Or a apple II, my memory of being about 5 isn't the best
Island of Doctor Brain 1 - the best edutainment game for kids made for DOS! :D
will you be reviewing any more of the jumpstart games this month? I remember you picking up jumpstart 3rd grade in an LGR thrifts a while ago, that one was always my favorite when I was a kid
I like how you asked if we enjoyed the video and not the gameplay. lol
Hey LGR, could you do a video on 1k chess on the sinclair zx81? Don't know how much you're into programming, but this was allegedly one of the most impressive pieces of software ever written. I know jack squat about programming though, so i need someone like you to explain its greatness...
Would too expect more from the best educational game, too bad I guess. And, I'm also one of the people who would like to hear the full beat released, I don't think that's a bad idea. It sounds great.
thumbs up for that fresh tune!
Yo' so I'm looking for a extended version of that beat to play at the club
3:14 nearly made me spit out my drink.
So I know you did Jump Start Kindergarten and First Grade (Classic versions) last year, but would you look into possibly maybe some of the later ones for older kids? Like 3rd, 4th or 5th Grade? They don't even have to be the classic ones, the Advanced versions from 2001 are pretty awesome (considering I played the crap out of all three of them). I would love to see your take on them
Seirra Games? They had a ton of great title such as King's Quiest, Sapec Queist, Lierds ov Majick, Eimpre Reath, and of course, Gbariel Knihtg.
And don't forget Earthsieeg and Phantamshrgoeorira
3:14 That Clint scared me xD
Would love to see one of the Tonka games reviewed.
I love your mix dude :)
haha. after the little song played I was making the exact same face as you xD
Random picture of LGR's face at 3:14 . Only appears for a split second.
3:14 is my new desktop wallpaper.
I won't lie. I blasted that Leeper Club Anthem.
