I ended up using a hard plastic and basically made a funnel and attached with screws, that reduced the flow so that a smaller material could go in and be spread at a good rate.
Yes we definitely would like to see the video of how you slowed the salt flow too. Definitely flies through too fast... wastes & dumps too much. Thanks for the tip to keep off the bumper!!
Would it be any different? Are there clumps in bulk salt? Starting snow plowing this winter so im not really familiar with the differences between bulk and bagged
There can be clumps in bagged salt as well bulk. If you have the space and the correct equipment I would definitely go with bulk. Bulk is typically substantially cheaper.
Clumps and silt, just less consistent ...also can be damp depending on conditions and supplier. It tends to clog/hamper smooth running througg salters.
Thanks for this review , I’ve been shopping around for about 40 years to find something like this.
@Jerry Riggins2.0 lol
I just got one of these but it only has the controler for on and off for the motor.
Will it spread sand?
You find any way to slow down the salt to the auger? So you can throw the salt further but not feed it as fast?

@@merenewal i would like to see how you made that and how it works. Would be cool if you can make a video.

Have you tried it with bulk salt?
@@Half_acre_farmer I ordered some sandbags off Amazon and use those. Buckets are way pricier. Just figured I'd ask. Thanks man!

I'm also a sandbagger...cheap and convenient as long as you don't over fill them (turns them into a solid block)
Garbage don’t buy.
Yeah, motor lasted through about maybe 200 bags.
