5th and 6th season of Moesha are hard to watch. I pick and choose the episodes to watch from that. Making Ray J a cast member was a terrible decision. There is so many storylines they could have done. They completely abandoned the baby storyline, they could gave Myles a chance to progress as he was getting older, explore marriage and love more and progress Moesha entering college. Frank had his fecal ways but making him an adulterer, liar and cheater? I never got on board with that.

I can't say I've ever saw her act in anything before Moesha, but I knew I needed to check her earlier work out when Angela Bassett wrote in her book how other actresses (including herself) would get shook if she was at an audition.
I loved her in It's A Living! Thought she was so pretty. Loved her dimples. Once I learned she was of Jamaican descent, that love grew.
Damn too black for a role, not black enough for another. Hair too this, hair too that. Then working with a gang of disrespectful kids, I’m glad she’s here to share the story!

Thea Vidale said that Brandy and her moms (Brandy's moms) were rude and disrespectful to HER on the show "Thea." People went after her (called her bitter), but I believed her.

Actually I heard it the other way around in a Lynette Wilson interview. Thea was hostile toward Brandy especially when she would sing on set. Brandy stood up for herself like her mother taught her to do.

I always looked at her like I Iooked at Phylisia Rashad, Melba Moore, and Janet Hubert...that particular era of Black women actresses were so distinguished... classy... elegant... I'm glad to have grown up in an era where Black women on TV were cut from this cloth, these were the women I wanted to be like when I grew up. The representation of Black women on television throughout the 70's and 80's was glorious, I'll tell ya...

Don't forget Ray J started out on The Sinbad sitcom back in 93. It lasted for one season before being canceled, and The Ricky Smiley Show back in 2012 which lasted for 3 seasons.

I'm glad Sheryl was fair by emphasizing the fact that the cast was young. Because let's not act like all of us were this astute, mature extremely respectful angel of a teenager. It's not minimizing anyone's behavior but in reality NO ONE was/is an angel especially if you're given any and everything whenever and however you want. I'm glad she's getting her flowers. Side Note : Loretta Devine was absolutely gorgeous when she was younger. I saw pictures of her long ago and she's just stunning with a dream girl cast. And she's still a nice looking woman now and so kind.

I heard about Brandy Norwood and her family and I can only imagine it even gotten worse when Brandy's real life mother was throwing her weight around and added Ray J to the show there's nothing worse than disrespectful kids towards adults she handled it with class and Grace and left the show I don't blame her.

@@rrg personally knowing her and being around her in Philadelphia. She always had a very nasty nasty rude attitude. Everything you see on TV is staged and they take many classes to learn to be fake. She is a very nasty person who will never genuinely speak or talk to you.

Sheryl Lee Ralph is such a beautiful and talented woman. As a dark-skinned black actress, she influenced the standard of beauty in Hollywood. She added flava to the Moesha show, and was a positive role model as her proper talking, warm, intelligent mother.

Firstly i dont think your videos are long winded. It is providing a more in depth history and background to the subject matter so we can have a better understanding of their triumphs, trials and tribulations. Sheryl was one of my teenage crushes. She represented a fiercely strong nubian queen who exhibited tough love with a loving heart.

It's crazy because I have been straight binge watching Moesha. The first 3 seasons are hilarious. I didnt realize how much shit Moesha was constantly getting into. The actor who played Frank was incredible. Dee as well.
Sheryl Lee Ralph never got the respect she deserved. The magnitude and class that she has seemed to be overlooked and not appreciated. The direction the show was heading in the last seasons was less than satisfactory. Sheryl left with her dignity and integrity that none of the cast members or crew could take away from her.
Sheryl Lee Ralph is absolutely gorgeous. I still watch Moesha but hated the direction things went in the end of the show. It’s sad to know that she went through so much during the filming but it’s never easy with some teens.

I’m starting to think that Brandy was bred to be a mean girl for real. No shade to Brandy but we ALL must face Karma when we grow up with nasty personalities. We have to go through those shadow moments to learn how to be better ppl with more compassion. Unfortunately, Brandy’s younger years just don’t sit well with me, but I believe she’s living in the light she needs to now. Who knows how many apologies she’s had to hand out just to get out of that karmic cycle
And the reason why I say “bred”…. I mean look at her mother. That woman is ruuude. I’ve seen her personality many times when she fights the women that Ray J brings into his life

We can all put blame on Sonja cuz Sonja was definitely on her fecal propping her no talent having son Ray J like that. But Brandy and Gabrielle Union don’t have to reach for their mean girl antics. That’s real life for them.
I met Brandy and her mom yrs ago when Brandy hosted 106th & Park. I was in a group home and they let us go backstage and take pictures for a newspaper article. Brandy was so nice and warm. Her mom was so mean and cold. No smile, no handshake no conversation. She looked at us with discuss while Brandy was trying so hard to engage with us as her mother rushed her along. I'm 34 now and whenever I see or hear about Brandy's mom I instantly remember the nasty look on her face.
It’s usually her mom’s mouth. Brandy is the star so she catches the flack.
Thanks for sharing this story. Sheryl Lee Ralph has a lot to be thankful for through all the hardships. She had been around for a long time and she still looks great. There's ups and there's downs and I'm glad she was able to express some of the disappointments. I still consider her truly blessed for being able to follow some of the things that she wanted to do. Glad she was able to make amends with Brandy as well as others. She definitely left a mark in so many different ways and although she was going through a lot on Moesha she played her part well as a stepmother.

I definitely agree with the point that Sheryl would’ve been at guiding Beyoncé bc the movie didn’t do deena character any favors I also felt the original cast/crew of dreamgirls wasn’t involved bc the movie wanted to capture the behind the scenes drama of the supremes than be a faithful adaption to the original Broadway musical

I heard that if there had been a 7th season of Moesha that the Myles character would have been written out which wouldn't have made sense to me. Why would they write out Myles? He was part of the family.

This brought tears to my eyes. The entertainment industry has No chill...but to do the right thing, and be shunned for it is HARD on anyone. At work, and at home. I'm glad she stayed true to who she was, kids should know better about being respectful - but if they are allowed to, not to mention if they are responsible for your paycheck somehow - the will not only be allowed, but supported. When she got the apologies YEARS later - I know it's better late than never, I just hope it lifted some of the pain from the past she'd experienced. Beautiful Woman, Mother and Wife!

I’ve been in love with this woman since I was 3 years old and saw her on the cover of Ebony magazine with the cast of “Dreamgirls”! I’ve been obsessed with her and that musical ever since. I read her book so I was familiar with the behind the scenes “Moesha” drama but she has said since Brandy apologized to her and they’ve made peace. So glad to see her now FINALLY get the recognition she deserves for the decades of incredible work she’s done! Congrats on the Emmy win Queen! ❤️

I have loved her since she was Barbara in A Piece of the Action. I saw her one day in Macy's and told her what that role meant to me. Then I acted out one of her scenes. She probably thought I was crazy, but she was very nice and gracious. I hope she wins the Emmy, but either way, she is a winner 🏆 to me.
