- I noticed an interesting parallel in "The Wizard the Witch and the Wild One" from @worldsbeyondnumber and decided to make a little fan animation of it. Mild Spoilers for Episode 11!

Apria‘s willingness to make questionable choices is really impressive. Genuinely shows how much trust there is between this group, i’ve never been more invested in a D&D games characters like I really love Critical Role and shit, but like this is just amazing. I really wanna see the kids adventure now.
Aabria is so good at playing heel characters, she makes me so mad, which is the point, which makes me more mad.
Very cute animation!
It's particularly jarring given how sweet and bubbly she is, and how ready she is to cry at sentimentality. That makes the contrast between her and characters like Suvi all the more chilling. She's amazing.
Finally someone made an animation of wbn, I’m surprised by the lack of it so far.

The Wizard The Witch and The Wild One is the main campaign of a DnD series called Worlds Beyond Number. It has both primary DMs and two recurring cast members from Dimension 20 if you're familiar with that. The campaign is a Ghibli-esque fantasy in a world where two worlds, the spirit and the material, coexist. The material world is undergoing a magical industrial revolution, mostly in an Empire state that has started doing Empire things. Three friends reunite after many years apart, and find that at least two of them have changed significantly. The animation shows a parallel between one character's younger and older selves, showing that some patterns of behavior have been reinforced to unfortunate degrees by the ideologies of the Empire. If you do try it out, please don't jump on the Suvi hate train, Aabria has just set up a complex character and needs time to cook.
even without "time to cook" Sky is amazing and makes for an amazing friend.
It's easy to take it out of context, but imagine your best friend is a low ranking officer in a the military or police force of a nation or state one over from yours. Ostensibly, on the surface, you're allies and you have some shared government and whatever else. You wouldn't and would be insane to expect them to work against the entirety of their personal and professional apparatus, one that has trained them for loyalty, just because you asked them to.
Yet that's what people expect of Suvi. Just do whatever Eursulon and Ame want, and if it gets you in trouble, well, I guess that just proves you work for the bad guys. It's insanely childish.
Ame is to naieve and insular to even realize she needs to convince Suvi to do things. Like, if she made a philosophical argument and could support it with reason and rationale that the Empire is maybe bad and the Citadel has become its main instrument of oppression, Suvi might be able to see that. But no one makes that argument to her. They operate such that their "must" and "need" meaning more than her "must" and "need." That would get grating. Even if, philosophically, I agree more with Ame.
