Hey man, did you know you can sink items into gravel and asphalt with Ball Track Stilts? I didn't try it at Oberland, but it absolutely works in Hangman's, the notorious unsinkable area.
I didn't know this so I went and tried it, and it worked about the same as the pillar. It's the scrapping mod that makes the ground all funky--it changes how the default physics work underneath--so I'm kinda stuck, I think. :)
Sorry I missed Tuesday...was pulling my hair out over Croup Manor. I rebuilt all walls, and started a rooftop build similar to yours, but by the time I was finished, my frame rate was at less than 10, so I think I'm gonna revert to a save before that and try to find someplace else to build what I keep envisioning, but so far nada. I've tried Conquest, but I', on pc so I don't have the same scrapping mod you use, so that's a bust. On the bright side, I found the console I was after. It's in USO! Gonna try to catch you on Sunday...any idea what time it will be?
All good Jim; it'll always be there for later. ;) On PC, the standard for scrapping (as I understand it) is Scrap Everything: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5320/ The stream will be on Sunday around noon Central; I try to keep my stream starting times as regular as possible. (Tuesdays it starts around 7pm CT.) :)
Can't you just disable the scrap mod, do your building, then re-enable it? As long as you don't visit any other settlement, it shouldn't affect them. That's what I did on PS4. Now on PC the scrap mod still interferes with placement, but I have 'Place Everywhere' to compensate. Regarding what you said about your reasons for not using a placement mod (7:12) I have mixed feelings. I very much agree with what you said - there is satisfaction in figuring out how to place items within the system. On the other hand there are so many things that are not possible that way, it's also nice to have the freedom to place everywhere.
Yeah, I could definitely flip back and forth, and I used to do it all the time, but loading and unloading mods on the same save has caused me a lot of issues in the past and I'm sort of leery of doing it any more. It's definitely a "me" thing I guess. :)
Good for you man. Keep up the great content.
Thanks and will do. :)
Looking good Sar.
Thank you! :)
Oh yeah, looking good. Glad my suggestion helped.
Thanks, and thanks for the reminder... sometimes we forget the most basic stuff, don't we? :P
Like how this is looking.
Thanks! It's shaping up a little now that it's sort of enclosed, I guess. ;)
