Looking back on it now, it almost seemed to me like a way of educating and preparing its audience for the trials of *dun dun dun* adulting. Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt are all clearly meant to be in their early 20s, and they each deal with a hardship of Gen-X at the time. Rocko has financial issues and sometimes difficulty holding employment. Heffer has arrested development issues still living with his parents. Filburt literally tries to stop adulthood in one episode, but eventually comes to start his own family. It reminds me of hipster movies at the time like Reality Bites or Singles.

Really great humor(It's one of the few shows I laugh hard from the humor, they did a really great job), great and memorable characters, great satire, everything is just awesome. You can tell a show highly holds up when even in adulthood, you appreciate it even more and still really enjoy it. Like you, I also enjoy Rocko's Modern Life when I was a kid, but I enjoy it even more as an adult after understanding all the adult humor and how relatable the characters are of dealing with everyday life in adulthood. The show did a really great job of connecting with the characters so well. Like honestly, I see myself as Rocko in terms of relatability. Rocko does the best he can to have a good life in O-Town and never gives up despite stumbling upon people who treat harshly and cruel to him. Like Rocko, I'm also quite shy and pretty quiet. What makes Rocko a good character to look up to is that even with these struggles, he does the best he can to achieve, overcome these obstacles to achieve really well in life. He's nice and respects everyone around him, even someone like Mr. Bighead, who can't stand Rocko. Rocko is a really great relatable character and is a character easily to cheer for for all these reasons. Overall, really great video. As a huge fan of Rocko's Modern Life, thanks for video. Happy to see Rocko's Modern Life is getting more love these days. For all you SpongeBob fans out there, without Rocko's Modern Life, SpongeBob wouldn't turn out how it did in the first three seasons. Okay, so when I first came across your channel, the first video I ever watched was your video discussing the ending to Camp Lazlo, which I never knew about because I stopped watching the show as a kid when I just grew too old for it and never finished it, but that was wild. So, I'm glad you're finally making a video on this show

At 9:23 the eye exam chart reads, "I am a prisoner in the crazy doc's broom closet." That's the kind of cool stuff that made cartoons back then so cool.

As a kid I never went out of my way to watch Rocko's Modern Life, but I always enjoyed it when it was on. Certain episodes taught me a lot about the adult world, and how society consumes media.

This is a wacky slice of life show that really worked. I like the characters and the humor which are two of the biggest drawing points to it. it also interesting that similar to how “all that’s start a lot of careers for live action stars and shows this seemed to be the same for cartoon. Tom Kenny stared his voice work here (I think), the creator of “The Angry Beavers” Mitch Schauer was the show's assistant storyboard artist, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh who created Phineas and Ferb were writers and Stephen Hillenburg worked in multiple roles for the show. Its good show, in the top ten of my nicktoons list, I think at 8 or 9.

I remember watching this show in the 90's and I loved it. My favorite episode is probably Hut Sut Rah, the camping episode; after many attempts and screw ups along the way, the gang just ends up camping out in Rocko's yard. The episode in which Rocko must go grocery shopping while out of laundry and forced to use his lucky shirt & the Filbert's wedding are really good as well. Honestly, there are more I could list as this was just a well done show.

i love how the show tackled a very serious topic. My favorite episode was when heffer found out he was adopted. Heffer invites rocko for dinner at heffers parents house once they get there rocko assumes hes adopted seeing that his family was a pack of wolves. During the dinner rocko tells heffer that hes adopted heffers parents explain heffer gets sad and mad saying "your not my father" heffer runs out and finds his real fathers garve and starts crying a though bubble is shown with heffers real father being mad. Eventually heffer comes back home heffers mom says " we were going to eat you your were skinny so we fattend you up then we grew to love you" even though im not adopted this episode made me cry

Yes! Of course I remember! One of my most favourite shows, becuse I could relate to Rocko so much (and sometimes still do). From time to time I re-watch it.
For some reason I missed the announcement for "Static Cling" and when it was released - oh boy, it blew me away! I didn´t expect it to be SO good and who didn´t watch it already - go and watch it!

The thing that makes shows like this stand the test of time is as a kid it’s fun, but watching again as adult is like watching it for the first time because you understand all the adult jokes. The Static Cling special really was a genius play on the concept of the show. It was perfect that the canon ending to the series was them going into space so that the movie could have them come back and readjust to “modern life”

When I started watching Nick, my favorite Nicktoon was Zim but because I didn't click with any other one. Then one day classes were cancelled because of rain so I stayed home to watch TV and Rocko was on Nick, so I decided to watch it since it was new to me, and I loved it, I clicked with everyone and the apparent randomness of the show in general, but as I grew up and my world view grew, most of the humor wasn't random it was referencing something I've yet to understand. I kept rewatching it every now and then to see what new thing I could catch or relate to now that I am a young adult.
Rocko was and always will be my favorite Nicktoon, the Netflix Rocko special really hit my nostalgia feels and I enjoyed it a lot 💖

I also wanna give a shout out to Tom Kenny, as before he and other actors went on became household names in Fairy Oddparents and Spongebob, he's making me crack up as Peaches, Jeffer Wolf and several several background characters whose voices you'd later hear in Power Puff Girls, Mission Hill and CatDog!

Aside from joking about having to censor elements of the show, the episode where Rocko and Heifer go to the carnival originally included a ride called the "Elevator to Hell" where the riders would plunge downward, we hear screams, then they return with the elevator charred. A devil would also attempt to depart, but the carnie slug forces him back into the elevator.
This is now omitted from any replays for..well...obvious reasons. But god I loved that gag and remembered it all these years later.
