    It looks like you slightly overexposed the prints, which accounts for a lot of the "softness" you're seeing on the edges. On the OG Mars, where your layer exposure times are ~8 sec, drop the exposure 0.5 seconds, and I'll bet you'll find those prints much crisper.

    To fit in with the theme of trench warfare with these guys, you could use the arms and other bits to put in the walls of trenches. This inspiration came from my grandfather telling me a rather disturbing horror story that his dad told him when he fought in the first world war. When soldiers began expanding the trenches they often dug into unmarked burial sites of fallen soldiers.

      @@BenjisHobbies I know they're basically scaled to fit with 40k stuff :) WGA seem to be in the business of finding a gap in other people's ranges and filling it with their own. So their Death Fields stuff is good with 40k and their WWII (and WWI) stuff is great with Warlord Games stuff. You can mix the 2 but you may run into some odd scaling in the same way yo would if you mix Warlord and 40k.

    Great work! I am still not sure if I want to buy the box. I don't like the design of the buildings and besides of Kill Team I have no use for Orks or Imperial Guard. But those models, especially from the Deathkorp of Krieg, are looking really cool. Also the guns and the bits could be used on other models too, to create a more individual look. But the box is pretty expensive. I wish GW would say that they will sell the models later on separately.

    If your details are looking soft, you may want to check your print settings. The first thing that comes to mind is to disable anti-aliasing, or perhaps you're over-exposing. The Mars is capable of much more detail than you give it credit for and it prints just as crisp as machines that are released recently.

    • @BenjisHobbies
      @BenjisHobbies 3 года назад

      I’ve dialled in my setting as much as I can (I’ve done several tests!) but I do tend to expose for slightly longer than optimal. I find I get more successful prints if I just over expose, and when time is of the essence (when making videos!) I can’t afford for prints to fail. Even so, with optimal settings my printer (an OG Mars) is nowhere near as sharp as GW models. I know the limitations of what I can get out of my machine 😊

    Surprisingly nice turnout on the printed lads, thought the leaner legs and smaller mask would look too janky next to the kits own models, but it’ll easily pass the 5’ rule. Definitely helps since GW pulled a GW and made it so that the kit doesn’t even make a complete Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team (4 bodies short of 10 guardsmen AND the ancillary support which consists of 4 additional troopers)
