So I just watched FMA and FMAB during quarantine since there wasn’t anything else to do and I can’t thank myself enough for that decision. My heart’s been made fullmetal.
Truth is, one individual cannot gain anything without first giving something of equal value in return, but two individuals can both benefit from exchanging with one another, and both end up with more than they originally had. How poetic is that
Nice quote. Anyways it is not true always. Yes, it is OFTEN true, especially with physical objects, but as example parents love their children (propably) even if their child doesn't love them as much. I think it would be more correct to say everything has its cost (even if this may be incorrect too, sometimes). Note: I don't mean to dislike FMAB or any other versions of it in any way, as I'm also a FMA-fan (mostly the mangas, but FMAB is also great).
This is such a strong OST. Its mesmerizing how you can become so nostalgic for a world that never truly existed.. Im ready to cry but at the same time I don't want to stop listening.
I'm 28 years old/young. I grew up with DragonBall and DragonBall Z. Z was 20 years long the only anime which made a big impact on my life and brought me to tears. I started watching FMAB.. Every day 3 to 5... And I'm in love... I finished it last week.. It brought me to tears.... The message behind it... All the drama and suffer.... Man I would love a sequel or something new coming but sometimes I say OK this was the end... It's 3 in the night in Germany and I'm half of this soundtrack and I brings me tears back... I'm in love with it... Wish you all the best Ed... Alphonse... Roy... Scar.... You all are so great... You really changed me... And this says an obsessed dbz fanatic...
The same, I'm 19 and I watched dragon ball Z, I really loved it And then, I watched Black Butler ans FMAB and FMA... And I discovered something new. Something deep. Art.
Somehow, this music conveys such a sweet sorrow. I never watched FMA, but I read the whole manga in 6th grade. It still remains one of my all-time favorites, 7 years later. These songs perfectly capture and convey the story's themes. Love and hate, life and death, joy and sorrow. All actions have equal and opposite reactions. "Humankind cannot gain something without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is the alchemy's First Law of equivalent exchange."
If you do end up watching the anime I recommend brotherhood, it way closer to the story in the manga and also contains this beautiful music, but also skip the first episode
This music and anime hits differently now that my husband is gone. He introduced me to FMAB and anime. Id give anything to see him again. This music has got me crying all over again 😭. RIP Shenge ❤
I had goosebumps all over my body when i heard that first instrumental music. It's so magical. Feels like my heart soars above the clouds and i just cry, can't help it.
Such an amazing show. Amazing story, unique setting, memorable characters, an astonishing amount of depth, a great soundtrack, ect. This anime just has it all. Guess there's a reason it's my favorite.
I'm watching this anime for the first time and it's bout to end am in episode 44 and can't stop watch the end of episode 26 "Alphonse .. Alphonse .. One day I will come back to take you just wait for me" 💔💔❤️❤️😭😭😭😭💔❤️
I wish there were more comment sections on RUclips, where people just enjoy the same thing without spreading all that hate... I love the series, I love the music, I cried a lot! But... As long as we are alive there is hope...
The first theme I love so much. The feelings of sadness and hope you feel as you watch the series, plus the memories and nostalgia of when I originally watched the show ❤
I can't stop crying. While i was watching FMAB i didn't pay attention to the music but now I'm listening and refreshing every strong funny and sadness moment . This music always was in this moments. I feel incredibly.
Trish's Lullaby at 9:54 sounds so familiar, somehow, in a very strange way. Like, I've always known it, i guess? I was immediately able to hum along to the melody I hadn't heard before. That's strange.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one like that when it comes to certain songs. The Bellflower song from Hellsing (2000) is a similar thing for me. Perhaps it's the soul? Or spirit? Perhaps our souls vibrate to a certain melody, or maybe they tune themselves to it, without really realizing it? It's so hard to say. It's really beautiful though.
Its the most saddest moment when Trisha turned into a chamera by her dad n when general Maes Hughes funeral n little Aliia asking her mom "why they burying daddy?" Who'z cutting onion...TT^TT
I'll show this anime to my kids, this anime taught me so much goo things about life. And those brothers❤️I literally thought that I was also the part of this anime, this is the perfect anime I'd say, full of fun, life lessons, love everything.
Can we admit that Edward Elric was the truest person in anime ever. The way he spoke the truth about the real world and real struggles that everyone suffers through their lives. Whenever time you had watch this anime is when reality had hit you very hard. 😩😫😭
This is the first anime I've watched. More like the only anime I've watched wholly. I always thought anime was never my thing but I felt bored and started watching it. None of my friends recommended it. They always told me to watch my hero Academia or one punch man or Naruto but I refused and chose this! Boy was I correct? It was such a pure and happy anime built on the dark plot... in the end you'll only love it more than anything... This is my only choice which wasn't wrong. Thank you Ed and Alphonse for taking me with your journey ♥♥♥♥♥ You, the person who read it till here I love you and spread love around the world!
Well done not listening to your friends lol, the only anime i suggest you watch is hunter x hunter it will have the same impact on you as fmab did, trust me.
I'm one of those person people call heartless, but I might admit those melody made me cry every time I hear their notes. It's so beautiful and lovely. I don't know why I cry when I'm listening to them, it touch me so deep inside and make me feel so weak and pathetically human. I love it so much. Thanks to the ones that playing them.
"Who am I? One name you could have for me is the world, or you might call me the universe, or perhaps God, or perhaps the Truth. I am all and I am one. So, of course, this also means that I am you. I am the Truth of your despair. The inescapable price of your boastfulness. And now, I'll bestow upon you the despair you deserve." - The Gate of Truth.
Oh, the memories. I finished the original yesterday, and I am very proud to say that it's the first show I ever cried watching in my entire life. Thank God that this was created.
If you're a real fan of the FMA series, you won't compare them. You must love both series, whatever, what is your favorite. I'm Brotherhood fan but the FMA is so deep and the soundtrack is insane!
There are some scenes in FMA 03 that tells a better story than Brotherhood. And there are some scenes that Brotherhood has removed from FMA 03. One must watch both series not to compare but to acknowledged the beauty of both stories.
@@MirissStargazer The first was darker than brotherhood, and character's development was great, how they mixed up the 7 deadly sins and how Roy killed Winry's parents instead of Scar on brotherhood. Each scene is special in FMA 03, but... but for the longest time, brotherhood is and will forever be my favorite, the story is different, the characters are new, character development is crazy amazing. I loved the whole story, each time I watch it is like the first time, full of joy and excitement. Brotherhood really knows how to make a good story.
FMA and FMAB are the first anime series I see that make me really feel so many emotions at once. I already saw somebody commented this, but, seeing this is already an equivalent change, you enjoy it, but you can`t see it again for the first time.
I read the manga for FMA and fell in love with it a long, long time ago unknowing of the legendary story I had stumbled across. I had forgotten it for a while until I rewatched it during quarantine. It's funny how childish I am because I feel a great sense of pride knowing that I had read and found this unforgettable anime all on my own. Then once I finished it again for the second time, I was happy and both empty at the same time. I thought that I was prepared to depart with this once I was finished but of course I couldn't. Not in a million years. Not with an anime where I was so invested and fell in love with every character. This takes me back to when I finished the manga and the sense of despair I felt when it was time to say goodbye to everyone I had encountered. At least this time I was able to do it while smiling. Thanks FMAB for this unforgettable experience.
Love both FMA series, I remember how I was sad at the end of each ... A sadness refind when listening this beautiful soundtrack , my heart is in a same time light and heavy, thank you from my soul for this strange feeling 😌

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.” Well, unless it’s this show, we got something amazingly great, and gave nothing in return. We broke the laws...
You give your time to watch it. But you gain something that more valuable than your time, that is the experience to watch FMA/FMAB. Just what i think...
Memories of Ed and Al riding a train going through the countryside and staring at the sunset after a long day of exposing another alchemy fraud (like the filler episodes from FMA 03)
I only got into Fullmetal Alchemist as of mid 2019. It inspired a sense of adventure and wonderment accompanied by struggle and melancholy. But rather than letting the solace and anguish of life defeat me, this series inspired me to transmute this negative energy into something powerful: to be on my way to make my heart fullmetal. To be whole, not just half or incomplete. To be the best version of myself no matter how long it'll take, even if it'll take my whole life to get there. And although this poignant story has only been with me for a few years since, it has easily been my favorite anime of all time. But as time passes and you discover new things, I'll admit this got put on the side and forgotten about. However, as of recent, I picked up the hardcover of the manga and gradually started getting back into it again. Soon after, I stumbled onto "Bratja" again and the bittersweet melancholy embraced me. But there was a particular playlist I couldn't find that I used to listen to religiously with artwork of Edward in sunlight and alchemic symbols. I even had the artwork as my phone background for half a year. Then I found it again! This specific playlist! Not even a second in and the tears flooded. Of course, it was a brief moment but my goodness it was a brief moment of feeling like I was coming home. And given that the year I discovered FullMetal Alchemist I travelled to so many new places, it seems rather fitting in a full circle type of way. But now that the pandemic is improving and I haven't been to any new places out of fear for my health, maybe in due time I'll carry the song "Bratja" with me again as I explore new terrains. Hopefully, some day soon.
The musical war is so beautiful and well composed. Full metal alchemist is one of my favourite animes of all time. It also shows dark skinned characters not in a negative light but are victims of war and aggression, and it tackles racism. There is indeed a lot of philosophy in Full metal Alchemist. I enjoyed both series but the 2003 I felt was darker due to less comic relief and felt like an epic. The writer is truly a genius
I can't believe it. Can't believe that this anime is so good! I wasn't expecting that, but it was. I'm just a polish guy and thanks to your description I know it was performed by warsaw choir. I'm just happy
I didn't watch FMAB but only FMA, I love this so much, it's a very good anime! The soundtrack, the story and the characters are very well made and written. It's the kind of anime that hurt you and make you feel things like you never seen before. The theme Brother is still my favourite theme
Go ahead and give Brotherhood a shot. In my opinion, it's the best anime I've ever seen! And that's coming from a guy who also loves the original series, too
That scene when granny finds hohenheim near Trisha's grave and says atleast he died smiling, man! that's where I cried and also when in the end edward says to get through from our problems nd all! I love this anime so much❤️
" People can't gain anything without sacrificing something, after all. But once you've successfully endure that pain, you gain a heart that is stout enough not to be overcome by anything. Yeah, a heart made of fullmetal "
the first song... it brings back so many memories from when I first watched it. this anime was truly wonderful and the soundtrack played a large part in it. this anime can make someone look at the world a different way. You created something amazing ANIME SENPAI! you probably made a lot of people happy with this! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
After AOT, I thought, this is it but FMAB touched my heart. I won't say it is better than AOT or death note but all these three animes are non- comparable masterpieces. If you don't agree, go re-watch them!
Aot is the best anime if not the best show. I figured lemme watch this one since it is rated higher, and it certainly doesn't deserve to be higher than AOT. But if it is feelings that made this anime so popular i can understand, but still not the number 1. I probably was emotionally affected by this anime more than AoT but that still doesnt make it on the same level nor i consider it a masterpiece. I think death note is a masterpiece but not this. It is pretty good tho and above average. But i can think of so many animes that excel this one. In terms of music, pretty good but also not that better than aot and naruto for example.
@@asemqima1723 ayo death note went downhill after L's death, I would not call it a master piece even when the first half is extremely good. But could you name some cons of fmab ? I really can't find anything bad
@@asemqima1723 I think it's rated higher because more people liked this anime than AoT, like myself. Its central theme, about the morality of human sacrifice, and the consequences of humans that try to play god is more appealing to me than AoT's "the world is cruel, but we must resist it" and despair themes, even though I enjoyed both shows quite a lot. However, I can also think of other animes that are as good as, or even better than those two (and Death Note) in certain aspects. For example, Code Geass for Death Note's strategy battles (plus, it's ending is one of my favourites), Made in Abyss for AoT's "it is a cruel world, but it can still be beautiful", Steins;Gate for sacrifice, morality issues and despair, etc. We can't decide an absolute nº1 of all time because they are all trying to achieve something different. I agree with the original comment. Those three are all incomparable masterpieces. It wouldn't be fair to compare them, their objectives are different, all have some aspects that are done better by other shows, and some that aren't. However, they are all masterpieces, because they are all excellent at what they want to be.
@@jrilo1307 yes you are right, though in terms of themes, they can be subjective, but there are some critical factors that make Aot number 1 show, is its intelligence in its plot twists, its story telling, its story, and the darkness and continuous fear of loss of someone make you realise how unpredictable this show is.. you cannot guarantee the safety of any of the charatcers and there are no overpowered stuff nor anger moment of the mc that makes him suddenly op at least without explaining in detail how did he get a certain power. But eventually all of these shows are still good, yet personally fmab is nothing compared to Aot.
@@asemqima1723 I agree AoT is a great anime. The things you listed are its best parts imo, specially that unpredictability. It's the first one I see kill off its characters so often and in the most unexpected ways, which reinforces that feeling of the cruel world. The thing I personally didn't like about AoT, and one of the reasons I didn't enjoy it as much as other series, is that, since the characters get killed so easily, we don't get to see a lot of them and they don't have as much evolution as characters on other shows. Some of them did, but it felt kinda... shallow. I felt like Mikasa's only character trait is simping for Eren (that's why I kinda liked something that happened in final season, without entering spoiler territory), Eren's trait is being angry at the world, etc. I liked Jean though, he felt the most real of all. One could argue that when they introduce Marley and other territories every character evolves, but to me it felt not only kinda forced, but as if they didn't evolve, but instead they were just really tired of fighting. Like they've been through a lot and they are tired and need a break, instead of them changing and evolving, though it may be just me. I'm not saying FMAB has the best character development, but Ed, Al and everyone else felt more human to me (both in FMA and FMAB I liked them quite a lot, even if I prefer brotherhood). They did evolve, after Nina, after Hughes, after all that time that Hohenheim carried the burden of his past (again, not to enter into spoiler territory). (If you see this in a different way, please let me know, I would really want to like AoT characters.) I'm not saying AoT can't be nº1 show of all time for you, maybe you don't give as much importance to the issues I mentioned as I do, or you find the characters masterfully developed for the series' purpose; but for me, there are some other shows out there I enjoyed more, and it's perfectly fine.
Everything about this is beautiful, the way it grasps the anticipation perfectly, the build of emotions , the reveal , the truth , I just noticed the reason why I love this anime so much
Ikr! I did that a few months ago now I can't stop watching >< the feeling of watching it after years is so satisfying cause you forget stuff and it feels new hahaha
@@christelleroderick524 well if you remember watching it once before then you haven't truly forgotten it its like equivalent exchange you watch it once and it stays with you because you spent your time watching it .
Exactly what I did haha. Now I'm watching the show with my roommate who's never watched it before and the only difference between us is that I occasionally spoil myself with memories popping up.
I understand you, but you must not wish that you were apart of something made up from a single mind. Yeah I know, a lot of us wish that we could be in that world and be something we're not. What this anime made me want to do is to make a comic. A very good comic, that's almost like it, but different. What you got from this Anime is sad. Right now I'm kinda fighting my parents because I've been out of school for months but I really want to make comic that makes people feel like there's something good out there, and someone. I want my comic to inspire others and to make their own with some originality. That may be Unrealistic but I just want to try and do something good.. So instead of wanting to be apart of an Anime world take something that inspires you and do it.
I too want to live in a country that was made in order for its entire population to be sacrificed to a homunculus and have my soul leave my body and be absorbed into said homunculus during the solar eclipse.

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost" - Edward Elric
Truth is, one individual cannot gain anything without first giving something of equal value in return, but two individuals can both benefit from exchanging with one another, and both end up with more than they originally had. How poetic is that
If this is from the intro..then this quote was said by Alphonso..right?
Armin from shingeki no kyoujin said something similar before eren turns titan to kill annie

The same, I'm 19 and I watched dragon ball Z, I really loved it
And then, I watched Black Butler ans FMAB and FMA... And I discovered something new. Something deep. Art.
Teacher: Why your homework looks like you put it to water?
Me: I was listening to music.

There are some scenes in FMA 03 that tells a better story than Brotherhood.
And there are some scenes that Brotherhood has removed from FMA 03.
One must watch both series not to compare but to acknowledged the beauty of both stories.
@@sosopokefan and I must add that some character are more explored in 1st serie than brotherhood. Like, Roy Mustang or Lust.... It was so tearful
@@MirissStargazer The first was darker than brotherhood, and character's development was great, how they mixed up the 7 deadly sins and how Roy killed Winry's parents instead of Scar on brotherhood.

How are you doing bro?
The musical war is so beautiful and well composed. Full metal alchemist is one of my favourite animes of all time. It also shows dark skinned characters not in a negative light but are victims of war and aggression, and it tackles racism. There is indeed a lot of philosophy in Full metal Alchemist. I enjoyed both series but the 2003 I felt was darker due to less comic relief and felt like an epic. The writer is truly a genius

(If you see this in a different way, please let me know, I would really want to like AoT characters.)
I'm not saying AoT can't be nº1 show of all time for you, maybe you don't give as much importance to the issues I mentioned as I do, or you find the characters masterfully developed for the series' purpose; but for me, there are some other shows out there I enjoyed more, and it's perfectly fine.
Everything about this is beautiful, the way it grasps the anticipation perfectly, the build of emotions , the reveal , the truth , I just noticed the reason why I love this anime so much

siempre he querido más de este anime, quiero saber como pasaron las cosas de las fotos... pero esa es la magia... queda a la imaginación
This anime sometimes makes me wonder why are we here? And why can't this anime be real?
