To me it just seems like everyone is hugely overreacting to this stuff - being a prisoner of the moment. Step back and realize this whole "SEC is done" narrative is based on a few games in a single season. I'm not even saying the narrative is FALSE, I'm just saying let's see what happens next season and the season after before we make such huge declarations. The reason I suspect it may be a bit of a blip/mirage is this. What does it take to be successful in college football? Essentially it's just good recruiting and good coaching. SEC is really good at both of those. The portal throws a bit of a wrench into the classic formula but seems like the SEC is getting plenty of guys via the portal so I don't think they're failing there. Eventually once teams adjust then you can just lump the whole portal thing in with "recruiting". But anyway, if you recruit super well and have solid coaching, you will get results in college football, plain and simple. You might have some ebbs and flows but the results will come. That's why I say let's wait and see on the "SEC is overrated trash" narrative.. when you look at the argument objectively and not emotionally as most people have been doing.. I'm not sure it holds water long-term. We'll see though.
