There's one UTAU I think you should've mentioned. My personal favorite UTAUloid is from South Korea, Darling. She recently became popular again with a "New Darling" cover featuring her voice and I can't seem to find her voicebanks anywhere as Kumori (the creator of Darling) shut down their blog and disappeared from the internet, especially with her Korean VCV voicebanks. I own her Passion VCV voicebank and she's super fun to tune and to use in general. I really love how naturally cute, but powerful her voice sounds.
the fact a lot of these "lost" voicebanks are lost mainly because they've either been become commercial synths or voice providers becoming the voice for commercial synths really makes me appreciate that twindrill not only kept up Teto's UTAU voicebanks but even released an update to one soon after her release.
Let's see: 1. Hachi has been uploaded to multiple places 2. So has Namida 3. Kemonone Rou isn't lost, just behind a paywall 4. Closest to being lost so far. Dls for her CV have been found, but her VCVs remain lost
I want to mention one. It's Shirataki Ito. She was made on July 2010, and only had her CV voicebank and also had her own circle called Project E-ito, but she was discontinued on a unknown date. Probably one of her notable songs is "#ffffff" which was created by Utsu-P. And she had featured one album which sadly it's not available on streaming services called Marble Music. And speaking of Shiki Rowen, actually his UTAU voicebank is back now, but sadly, you need to pay 300 yen for it.
I have Shirataki Ito Voicebank, I found a Spanish blog that had the voicebank I have the link to her voicebank, and here is the blog: ulmteam.blogspot.com/2022/03/shirataki-ito-descargadownload.html
Your UTAU videos are great! Namida is actually available as a physical VB on Empath-P's Storenvy store. So, definitely not completely lost. Suggestion- a video on recent, underrated UTAU voicebanks. UTAU has been much less popular lately and it's such a shame as there are so many great voicebanks. Not trying to self promote too much, but we do have a few.
7:11 i feel you on this she looks so familiar.. Not sure what but it reminds me of the many generic anime scenes that get reposted constantly for memes and more
I feel so old watching this. I have a backup of my old PC and it includes the majority of these UTAUs. I won't redistribute them obviously, but to me, they aren't lost. haha. Lovely video tho!
I actually own a discontinued utau vb called Piper K. I was able to salvage from my old hard drive through a friend. However, I do not have his English VB so that's lost forever
I don't know if this really applies but I'd like to mention Xia Yuyao's UTAU voicebanks! She had recently been ported over to a commercial vocal synthesiser.
Some lost UTAUloids that come to mind are Sorane Rana and Yui, especially Rana. For a period of time I remember her gaining attention for having a mature, realistic voice, particularily in a voice demo cover of Seiko-P’s Tsukihane that absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it (that is now sadly completely lost), and in kaoling’s original song ”Fall Into Unseen Darkness” that featured her and Miku. For some reason they were eventually discontinued, and I really miss them alot 💔
You can definitely find these voicebanks if you're willing to dig far enough, but it is a shame that they're discontinued. Hachi especially cause of how beautiful her voice is and being decently easy to use Other not really lost but hard to acquire voicebanks are the Windows 100% group, especially the extra ones who were sold on other CDs that happened to come with the magazines. I had difficulty finding Ihiro-chan especially and she has this sorta background noise present in her vocals if you go too high with her (which is really just the higher half of the 4 register) so I can't tell whether she's just a poorly made voicebank or badly ripped from the CD. It's a shame since I love androgynous voices
I wouldn't say "hard". In my opinion, the hardest voicebanks are the actual broken ones, such as Tree. I couldn't get him to work in OpenUtau without getting a crash each time.
i tried to download makune hachi after hearing the duchess venomania cover, i realized that she was discontinued after ruby was released and i went "huh... weirdly specific but ok" i only found out a LOT later that it was bc she and ruby had the same vp shiki rowen jumpscare 😰
Honestly thought Namida was ALY at first glance but the two are very different. I'll talk about her anyways as she's unknown/hard to get but not exactly lost. I rarely find info on her though so that's the reason for this comment. Note: My French is a little rusty so info could be off. ALYS is a French UTAU/Diffsinger and Alter/Ego voice bank made by VoxWave. She also has a Japanese voice bank and has gained a small French following due to her design and voice. Alys has a cat called Lupin and is often paired with LEORA (who is currently only a demo that only some producers have) Her voice is gorgeous but not very well known. She is voiced by Poucet and designed by Saphirya. Like some other Synths, ALYS has a yt channel and like Hatsune Miku's channel, they showcase producers. . They actually have an entire playlist dedicated to songs or covers done by fans, a lot of videos also include credited fan art. Voxwave has done a lot of merch for Alys, including multiple albums, posters and plushes. ALYS had a small concert at the Hyper Japan London event in 2016 and some lives in Paris. Unionically they used a screen before Miku Expo even existed.
About Rowen, when yuuma annoucned the discontinuation of his UTAU voicebanks, I think he meant only the ones that were on his BOOTH? Since all of Rowen's voicebanks that are on yuuma's bowlroll are still available for downaload. As mentioned on some other comments, a combined version of some of his voicebanks are able to bought on yuuma's alternative BOOTH account, but I would rather not reccomend buying them, because of how much of a controversial figure yuuma is in this community. Anyways, I'm really happy that both Gekiyaku and Kazehiki were able to keep their UTAU voicebanks, even when they got banks on VOCALOID 6. Would hate to have them be lost.
Just like teto twindrill kept her utau voicebank even after she got a synthv voicebank and she is also avalanche to use on openutau as well so is a win win for the teto fan🎉
Found everyone but Nilla. A video on the other utaus being currently searched for esp maybe less known japanese ones would be interesting and might actually help to get leads!
Could you go over the Chipspeech and Alter Ego voicebanks? I feel like there’s a lot going on there. There’s also a song I’ve been looking for for years (about 2015-2016) called “Out of Order” by Crusher featuring Daisy. I know Crusher had a falling out with Alter Ego which made Daisy unavailable but I wonder if that’s truly the reason the song is gone? And what about the other voicebanks? Do they still exist?
Well, about Row voicebanks, only the ones from the Yuuma's BOOTH page were discontinued, fortunely I got all of them from there so they're safely archived with me, but some of them from his Bowlroll page are still up for some reason, and even the DeepVocal ones too, but the main thing that makes me feel bad about Row's situation it's not even his UTAU discontinuation, and yes a certain drama about Rowen V6 release... 💀
I remember as a kid I used to be mad at Misha for "shilling out" to Yamaha/Power FX and getting rid of Hachi lmao, I felt the same about Macne Nana when she became a Vocaloid (though Nana was never relly free to begin with like Hachi). I think it would've actually been really cool if they made Hachi into an official Macne-related character, like when Crypton kind of adopted Teto into their marketing
Well she's not a lost media UTAU but rather an obscure one - her name is Eibi Migihidari! She's personally one of my favourite UTAUs and it's sad that she hasn't even got an original song yet and she's released in 2010,, fhdjsi I hope more people pay attention to this specific voicebank, I love her design and voice

She’s supposed to be a Macne fangirl, so technically yes even though she has no official connection to the people behind the Macne family. She even paved the way for a lot of other Macne-inspired UTAUloids

it's weird, sometimes utau voicebanks are really personal to their creators, so I believe we should respect their wishes when they private voicebanks, but I get why some people want to archive them
I can see why! I'm on the side that believes in archiving things for preservation purposes, maybe I'm an information pack rat, but I can totally get why some creators don't want something found or keep it personal!
@@WeebaLuI'm team if they don't explain, it's free game. If Nillas voice provider has said something about not wanting it to circulate I would respect it but they just ignore you, they probably just want to be involved anymore so it's not like people using the Utau on their own is an issue.
I actually found Makune Hachi, but for some reason the website won't let me download the files. Which is weird, because they're clearly there, I just get an error upon trying to download them.
