Can I just say how happy realising that I actually understand every word you're saying in this video is making me! I'm from Finland and I've been studying Swedish at school for about 5 years now and in a couple of months I'm taking my final exam on. Listening comprehension has always been the hardest part of Swedish for me, so I'm really thankful for this series! 💕

It would be cool to see stuff like "around the house på svenska". Some examples: "this is my dog Rascal, he's X years old. And this is Menace", what you made for breakfast, etc. Relatively simple stuff that is everyday life and therefore everyday vocabulary!

This is amazing, thank you for doing this. I've been learning Swedish for a while now and could understand everything you were saying without having to look at the subtitles, but it's still super nice to listen to. And to my fellow Swedish learners: there's this radio programme called klartext that has helped me A LOT. It's not as easy as this video, but still much easier than regular broadcasts. I'd recommend you give it a try once you've got the basics down.

Tack SÅ mycket! I just finished up the Swedish course in Duolingo after doing it every day for a full year, so this timing couldn't be better. I've been planning to spend more time this year watching and listening to more Swedish to get the hang of developing a better ear for it, and this is just perfect for helping get the basics down. This is gonna be super helpful in getting my Swedish better before I move there next year. :D

I'm surprised at how much I actually managed to understand just because of the slow rhythm of your speech. I'll definitely be writing down, translating, and repeating what you say a few times with increasing speed. :)
Maybe you could talk about the different regions in Sweden, midsommar, Swedish food, your views on neighbouring countries, and religion in Sweden next. Just a few suggestions off the top of my head.

I was actually surprised that there were quite some Swedish words that resemble their Dutch counterparts, like "talking" in Dutch is "praten", it resembles the Swedish word "pratar". That was great! I understood everything perfectly except for when you started speaking to people who are fluent at 2:29 - 2:44. After a few listens, I understood. Something I would enjoy would be normal spoken Swedish followed by the exact same thing in this "Strange Slow Swedish" dialect, perhaps followed by a repetition of the normal spoken Swedish. I have good comprehension of written Swedish, but I am still having trouble closing the audio comprehension gap from "slow strange spoken" to "normal", so some content in the middle speed would be helpful. The subtitles are a really great touch. Excellent work. I can't wait for the next "video for beginners" to be posted!

Great to have Swedish subtitles too. I found that clear pronunciation makes the biggest difference to understanding regardless of speed. I would rely on subtitles until I found Therese Lindgren's channel who I found easy to understand even without subtitles and that in turn made it a little easier for me to understand the "mumbling" Swedes, though I still have to stop and look up words very frequently. I had a short Swedish course at a Scottish uni and as a native German speaker it came a lot easier to me than to many of my peers who only knew English :L I think the more related languages you know, the easier it gets to learn another one. Looking forward to more videos!

As for ideas of topics? Sweden as a whole; history, the landscape, what modern Sweden is like, etc. It would be neat if at the end of each video there was the a slang word or term, or a complicated word, or more compound words that sound funny when split up. Or even something like, animal noises and/or names. I'm just happy to be along for the ride though with whatever you choose to talk about and teach us. :)

As for content, it was great to have you converse with Sonny. Listening to more conversations with others about, their interests, activities, longings, travels, partners, ideal dates, career goals, movies, really anything and everything. Love this! You are speaking clear enough to understand for a beginner learning Swedish. With RUclips having the playback speed function, people can adjust the speed of the video to slow it down even more if they need to! I am looking forward to more videos from this new series!

I’m not currently learning Swedish so this video isn’t really for me but the fact that you made it to help people learning the language is awesome and I love it and you! ❤️

Tack så mycket! I resolved in 2018 to learn Swedish after stumbling across you and another Swedish RUclipsr. I'm now subscribed and enjoying your videos.
It would be cool if you did general chatter videos like "things on my to do list", "my vacation plans", "my favorite foods", "Christmas traditions in Sweden" etc.

This is brilliant! I wish you would've done this a couple months ago when I had to practice for my swedish exam haha.

this is great!!!! it`s slow enought to understand what you are saying and is so cool that you thought making this kind of videos for the ones who are trying to learn swedish. I am a begginer and this was super helpful. I don`t have any suggestions on what you could talk about... maybe a tattoo video ... or maybe something about Menace :) ... all this talking like now :) Tusen tack !

This is amazing, I'm learning Norwegian and the fact that I can kinda understand what you're saying in Swedish is soooo rewarding.
This is a great idea, RUclips can help sooo much when it comes to learning languages, if used the right way. Tusen takk/Tack så mycket Katrin!

Elica Georgieva Hej! I mainly practise on the Duolingo app or website which is amazing! But there is also a very good book that's called Complete Swedish and covers everything if you are willing to really engage! Hope this helps ☺️

Videos like this are very helpful!! I am an Italian boy, who started learning Swedish 3 months ago with Duolingo. I really want to improve it because it is a very beautiful language. I understand some words and sentences you said with subtitles, but I hope to understand the whole video soon. Tack så mycket!!

Wow, what a great idea, thank you so much for this! I didn't even need to turn on the CC to understand all you said! To speak fluent Swedish is one of my goals for this year, so the timing is perfect! I'll even try to make my comments in Swedish next time! Tack så mycket!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! My Swedish learning has been stagnant for months because I needed to start practicing listening comprehension but I couldn't find anything basic enough to start with and I ended up giving up. Please take this forward! It is super helpful! The subtitles in both English and Svenska are super nice because I can listen once with EN sub and learn some words like subtitles = undertexter, and then watch again with SV sub and see how some words are spelled. It's perfect!
