This was the most helpful video I didn't know there was a lock on the blade. In every other video it just shows the person pushing down on the blade, but not pushing in the lock

Thank you so so much! I had wrongly pull out my cardstock and bits of paper got stuck inside the blade and I didn't know about the blade reset socket until I saw this video!!
glad it could help you. You can also take that auto blade apart and clean inside there. I'm not 100% sure how to do that.

Oh no! I know that the force being too much on the material can do that especially with markers and pens. I have had that happen with markers and pens. Try changing the force to a smaller number and then retry cutting.

autoblade issues. someone suggested making sure the plastic piece that goes OVER the actually blade is snug using that little tool that has 2 holes in it. How do you know if it's properly secured? tried a test cut with the autoblade and it was terrible. I did not use the mat. when you feed material in without a mat do you line it up with the arrows or do you line it up against the ridges on the left.
there just is not good information with a silhouette. I love the software but wondering why there is so little info on anything when you purchase the cameo. it came with some tool housing, but not clue what they're used for. one is for the ratchet blade (which I had to buy) but no clue what the others are for. it came with a gray one, a white one and a blue one. (and the black one that I was able to figure out it was for the ratchet blade.
you can download a manual off the internet. it has ways to do things in it, but mostly i watch other videos. I line my mat to the arrow line, i think on the 4 that line is a blue line. then I make sure my material or mat is getting caught by the right roller, because if it doesn't your material and mat will slide around. Make sure that the blade is changing from 0 to the setting you chose in the send panel.

thank you for your video, well done! I've had nothing but trouble trying to cut with the autoblade even lightweight vinyl. I have to put it to the highest force and 2 passes. Still not cutting correctly. i've bought a new autoblade and still have the same problem...The "test" cut is always fine, and maybe the first cut image but after that it barely cuts. I'm wondering if a ratchet blade will be any better...any thoughts?
I would try the ratchet blade. The autoblade has become a hit and miss blade for the 4. I have seen this issue sometimes when I do cuts. I don't craft alot unfortunately but I do have a ratchet blade as well. I am going to start using that. I have read alot of people use a ratchet blade and never go back to the auto blade.

Switch your machine off, slide the cutting head back snd forth a few times and then switch your machine back in. It will then reset and auto adjust!
The hole that is used for the auto blade to make depth adjustments may have been covered up by the matte holding the vinyl to cut. That is why mine was not cutting. When I align my vinyl to the line just before the wheel, the matte clearance covers up that hole. When I align my outer edge of my matte to the line then it offsets my cut. How do I fix this?
Are you selecting no mat when you cut just vinyl without the mat, and vice versa when you use a mat is it selected in silhouette studio ???

@@StickerBoutiqueInc do u have any video how to calibrate and do the adjustment distance setting? Try the other tutorials but getting the same result 😩 im doing the print and cut but when i do the cutting, it wont cut where it supposed to cut 😅
I enjoyed the video and followed the steps you gave and my cutter still won’t cut vinyl for some reason. My blade is locked everything is lined up correctly I tried increasing the force the speed and the depth of the blade and still nothing. I even went out and bought a new auto blade for the cameo 4 and still it doesn’t cut my designs. Any more troubleshooting tips?
I’m having the same problem! The only way I can get it to cut is deep cut then it cuts all the way through!😫. Help!!
@jan and@yessie, there have been known issues with the autoblades themselves that came with the machine. My question is, are you using that autoblade that came with the came 4? If so, I would recommend buying a different autoblade or trying maybe the ratchet blade, if you don't want to spend money contact Silhouette and they are usually available via chat and they will walk you through, maybe ask for pictures, etc.

Jan Harrington talk to silhouette first if you can or try a different autoblade or ratchet blade. But the ratchet you have to remember to change before cutting first

My cameo 3 will diecut a thicker adhesive sticker vinyl and laminate that my cameo 4 plus will not cut all the way through , the blade on the 4 is locked in properly , I even screwed tight that little piece by the blade , I’m using the auto blade sent with the machine , I have both cut settings at maximum 10 blade ,33 force , 3 speed and double pass , the cameo 3 will cut all the way through cleanly , the cameo 4 plus will cut but not all the way through. Should I buy a new blade for the cameo 4 ? Maybe the factory blade is no good ? Or is the cameo 3 actually a more powerful machine with more downward cutting force ? The 4 cuts vinyl with ease and other materials easily , just not this printable adhesive vinyl with laminate over it , that my cameo 3 will with ease .
it could be a faulty autoblade. I have seen quite a few people have issues with it. Do you have a ratchet blade to try out instead?
@@StickerBoutiqueInc no I haven’t tried the ratchet blade , but I did try the deep cut blade , it gave me the same exact results even with the blade at 20 , it’s maximum depth . I’ll buy another auto blade and a ratchet blade and try those out , hopefully it works
I think the machine maybe faulty. If it's doing it with the deep cut blade as well. did you manually adjust the deep cut blade?

I haven't cut much faux leather, I don't think I've cut faux leather with my 3 or 4, but I have the knife blade. where did you buy the chunky leather from?

No problem. I know I haven't had any more issues and I bump my blade up 1 for materials until they get it fixed. But also, that test cut before is a great tool!
it cuts out a small square and a triangle inside the square to see if it cut through the material as you wanted. Any questions, please feel free to contact me or email me on the about section of the channel.
Do you have a link about how to do the reset that mentioned in the video. My blade is not changing settings when it pitches down into that small hole as u mentioned at 2:20 in the video

It is not really related, but does the moving part that cuts make a sound when the machine is turned on (not cutting?) I had like soft noise coming out of it and I have no clue if it is normal or not
I would have to pay attention, I know the machine itself when cutting is alot louder than my 3.
Yes the holes where where the auto blade is supposed to hit! How do I reset that part. Omg please help! Lol
you may have to reset the entire blade housing. I am not 100% sure on that. but I know it's turn the machine off and move that housing to the left and right fully.
I hope you get to reply to my comment, my silhouette cameo 4 is leaving stray cuts in the middle of literally anything, sticker paper, printer paper, vinyl. And I’ve tried to adjust all settings and nothing helps. 😩
I would reach out to silhouette themselves. The blade sounds like it's too far down, is this the autoblade that came with the machine?

I’m having the issue where my blade is cutting though the vinyl it has also cut my mat. I did change the blade size and I changed the force but it still does it. Can you help me please. I’ve messed up several rolls of vinyl trying to get it right. I used the settings it said for the vinyl
is it the autoblade that came with your machine? If so, try a different either autoblade for the cameo you have or try the ratchet blade.

Can this machine be programmed from a laptop and can it cut a 16 inch circle at 40 mil thickness
No, the biggest size width or height is 12". the cameo pro which is a 20 inch machine and not out yet, can cut that circle but not 40 mm thickness. the thickest material is 3mm

I did exactly as shown and still says no cutter. Plus my Bluetooth was working and now even that stopped!!
what version of silhouette are you using like 4.4.465 or what, not what edition but version? and have you reached out to silhouette for help?
I just wish i had seen this video about 30 days ago 😉😂😂😂😂😂😂 i had 2 weeks just messing up all my vinyl i tryed everything even reinstalling the software just to find out i did not lock the blade 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
